signs are posted saying hey are the #8 VA hospital in the country. Right..... Despite having 9 floors, most of the elevators are broken clinics are moved around so often that the directional signs cannot be trusted always under construction building some new wing, takes way too long no privacy. Being triaged in same room as. 3 other dudes reminds me of that identity theft commercial shuttle bus to parking deck is glorified roller coaster or red neck mud-boggin. Those of us with back or joint problem really hurt afterthe short ride. Some people on the bus are 'ripe' and in bad need of showers. cafeteria is decent cantina/aafes store is decen…

Transmission to Transition by Darin Farr of the UTAH VA This is a really good video that addresses concerns of today's veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan where returning to civilian roadways and driving (e.g. miscommunication and misunderstanding by law enforcement when approaching and handling veterans they pull over), attending schools (e.g. discrimination and ostricizing - like the Penn State Video), and getting back into the employment sector (e.g. discrimination). Please watch and give feedback (which can be relayed to the producer, if you wish). Troy Spurlock

I got in a bit of a tiff with the travel folks last week when I was at the Gainesville VAMC. I had just come from an appointment at the VA Dermatology Clinic which is located at a different location than the VAMC. The Derm clinic is in zip code 32605 and the VAMC is in zip code 32608, both in Gainesville Florida. I asked the travel clerk why I was being paid to the VAMC and not the Derm Clinic which is a bout 7 miles from the VAMC. I was told that they paid zip code to zip code from my home to the VAMC. I asked why I did not get paid to where I went and they said it is all the VAMC. Not a good answer. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that they all were …

Recently I recieved what I now consider BAD information from the VA Billing Department. I have good medical coverage under my wife's work. I was told the VA pays for everything with NO second payer. This didn't seem right then and now looking at the posts here are fairly sure it isn't correct. I'd like to read thier rule book.

Can someone please tell me if there is anything else my husband and I can do to get his medical record from VA. On Friday 10/9/09 we spoke with the FOIA/Privacy Officer in Baltimore after getting the run-around to where his medical file might be. How in the world can a VA medical center close up and the VA file clerks claim all files from the medical center that closed in Baltimore were transferred to the Perry point, MD facility and Perry point claim they are in the new facility in Baltimore and nobody knows where the medical file is period. The FOIA/Privacy officer is saying that the file will be found because she is sending the information to the Chief of FOIA. (Fr…

I got a letter on Friday late, that I had missed an appt. on Monday and that since I failed to report, or if I had cancelled two consecutive appt. with my PCT, will not be reschduled for a 3 visit. Meds. not renewed until patient is evaluated by member of his team. Then the arsewhipes gave me a number to call theh "linked Care Program" which is a damn fax number. Here's the kicker, the said appointment that I missed had been cancelled by the Salem, Virginia VA on Sept. 1. No follow ups were ever sent with a new date, but now I get this letter that I missed my appoint. on the 28th of Sept? The bad thing is I'm on Oxycontin, they haven't put through my request …

I requested my C file from VA about two weeks ago. So far no reply, but I assume that is typical VA. Will the C file contain comments from my medical records, or should I request them from the VA hospital where I am being handled? I'm real curious to see what has been said about my various exams. This report was done in 2007. McClatchy was bought out Knight Rider news in that year, but McClatchy has kept much of Chris Adams research. This article points out the VA's Mode of Operation, and the article shows the VA's desire to show itself as tops in the country through minions embellishments. Chris Adams has been a top research/report and has done a great job at bringing out the truth in Veterans Treatment. VA medical system isn't as big a success as officials have asserted http://www.mcclatchydc.com/staff/chris_ada...tory/16149.html Excerpt from Chris Adam article: While the VA's health system has gotten very good marks for a transformation it's undert…
