Whats After Nod Appeal?
Should you not be happy with your appeal decision, whats next? I know the BVA is your next in line, but how does it work? Do you appeal again the same as the previous NOD letter? And who do you send it to? Is the BVA your only option and is it the way to go? Finally, can you lose what you already have during this appeal? Cavman

Vet's Suicide Being Investigated
This happened recently- I have not seen anything about the care he was getting at VA and this article suggests his suicide was to make a statement. I wonder if he had been denied enough psychiatric care. The FBI is investigating this as it happened on federal property-right at the VA. http://www.timesleader.com/mld/timesleader/15785622.htm It makes me wonder too about the lack of emergency care at some VA's after a certain time-like after 4:30- that we discussed recently. On the police scanner there have been three calls to the same home in another town in the past 5-6 weeks due to a vet saying he would commit suicide. I heard the ambulance and the police resp…

Thyroid Cancer
To all I found out last week that i have thyroid cancer, got my medical clarence yesterday, so i will be going into the hospital end of of the month for the operation, has anyone had this operation, and how did it effect you after the operation. is thyroid cancer in anyway connected to AO. would apprecieate any input from people who have already has this operation. when i was at my BVA hearing i talk to one of the people working there, i told him i was having the operation, he told me to put in a claim under AO as long as your doctor states it is more likely that not cause by exposer to AO. Question About Care
I have been really relating to Josephene(sp) and her troubles with her C&P. I can sooooo relate. The VAMC refuses to acknowledge my problems & fears of doctors, especially male doctors. They constantly expect me to go to primary care but will not do anything to help with with the anxiety that goes with this & that it triggers me & makes me act like a person wit all types of undesirable personality traits. They had had me in a room with male doctors without a nurse present. Several years ago, when i was facing a stay in the hospital, private sector doctors gave me a combination of Xanax & Prozac just to get me tru the front door of the hospital. t…

ptsd This Pees Me Off!
I get pissed that some of us with a 30, 50 or 70% rating have a much lower gaf score, much worse off diagnosis from doctors, saw 100 times more combat, got many more combat decorations than many that get rated 100% for PTSD just because they are in a different state or draw a different rater. It`s totally unfair to the highest degree. I know with my situation I would have got 100% if I lived in Puerto Rico and a few other places. In Puerto Rico you get 100% PTSD disability if all you had was a tire blow out on the deuce and a half you got onto at Tan Son Nhut airport in Saigon. Cavman

Has anyone on this site either personally received or know of any other veterans who have received a letter from the VA asking them to either check if they have no additional information to present in support of their claim or check that they have additional information that they are seeking an will provide it within 60 days. If so, do you know what this means? Is it possible that they are close to reaching a decision ,or is this just another stall tatic?

ptsd Look What I Missed
This letter dated 1996 where i applied for ptsd was denied, but this is what it says Psychological Examination, reports that this is a feisy retired veteran who emotionally continues to live in the military service. his conditin show evidence of a potential for an active condition of post traumatic stress disorder.....however at the present time it remains incipient and has not yet precipitated into a full blown syndrome. shame on me for not filling a NOD or sometime, But i go tomorrow and do it all again, suggestions bigjim//
