VA claims vets 55 and over, their SC injuries/diseases are considered as permanent, with no future exams. My question is; If that is truly so, why aren't they considered P&T? Coot

New Hearing Aids
Been waiting over 2 months for my new aids to come in. Wow well worth the wait. Aids are totally automatic, no manual adjustments except volume. The best thing they are water resistant and no dinky little wind shields to put in. They are by far the best aids I have ever had. Sound is so much clearer and natural compared to my old ones. These a made by Phonak. The audiologist said they retail for 8 to 10 thousand a pair in the real world. Also, because of a post I read here about a member asking for an electric type aid dryer I asked her if I could get one. She said " oh, sure I just have to order it in". So I have been using a stupid dryer you have to put in the microwave…

Senator To Va:
http://kidzexplore.com/article/20120301/NEWS01/703019890 This is the reason a leading Vets advocate recommends not calling the VA: It wont do you any good, they wont give you reliable information, and they wont solve your problem. Is this the treatment Vets deserve? I dont know why we put up with this, and I dont know how the VA gets away with it.

tdiu Claims For Secondary Conditions And Tdiu
Hi to all, I'm new here, as a member and this is my first post. I'm looking for your opinions on how best to help my husband handle his pending claim. My husband is a USAF Gulf War veteran and was originally rated 0% for his back in 1996. He filed for an increase in 2006 and was granted 10% for DJD. He again filed in 2007 and was denied. The current claim was filed in Nov. 2010. He did not list individual symptoms but filed for the knee, hip and ankle in an effort to receive consideration of the entire right leg and foot. His V.A. medical records and the report from his C&P exam extensively document significant changes in the Service Connected DJD as well as De…

Gerd & Ed (Erectile Dysfunction) From Service Connected Medications
Hey Everyone, Even though the RO blew these two SCs off the BVA awarded me secondary GERD and Erectile Dysfunction due to Zoloft, Ativan, Oxy, Fentyl, and everything else I take. I included the meds I take and the manufacturers side effects list. Guess it was too much for them to discount. Now lets see if I get a proper rating for GERD and SMC K $95 for the ED. If anyone has questions or would like help pursuing similar claims please contact me. Thank you. Mike

ptsd Iu Back To 1993 Maybe?
Opinions needed, wanted to give you an update on my husband's claim because you have helped to answer alot of questions in the past. My husband got his Nehmer award this week retro- 152,000 since 1993. If it were not for the help of all of these message boards and the NVLSP I really believe he would not have gotten anything. He was granted 100% ffrom Sept 93 till Oct. 94 60% there after No SMC In 2008 he was granted 70% 50 for PTST, 10 for Tinnituis, 10 for wounds He was disappointed that he did not get SMC or more years at 100% but at least he got something. My question to you is he was thinking about applying for IU back to 1993, he did hold a couple…

hypertension Hypertension Ratings
Hey Everyone, I have been fighting the VA since 2002 over my hypertension rating of 0%. I knew I didn't meet the typical many over /100s readings. I have however been on continous medication since 2002. I saw many BVA cases that would decide in favor of the Veteran based on the benefit of the doubt doctrine. Sure enough I got my decision yesterday from the VA. Although I have hardly ever had readings above 160/ and maybe 10 /100 compared with tons of 120/80s when controlled with meds I was awarded 10%. Now I currently am still TDIU and gave up my SS benefits to go back to work one may think whats a 10% going to do for you? Well it took me from 80% to 90%. Why d…

Faulty C & P Exams
Faulty C & Ps This situation has cropped here recently a few times. A faulty C & P exam must be challenged right away and a new one should be requested. The examiner's qualifications is the first thing to attack. Please read this post: Faulty C & P exams CAN be rebutted by the claimant successfully. I have done that myself with medical evidence and common sense. In one case, when my husband was alive, I witnessed something at the C & P exam that helped him get a new C & P exam right away. A claimant must take immediate action. And ask for the C & P exam copy as soon as it is prepared. In my 2003 claim BVA ordered a Cardi…

Claim Sent Back To Developmental Stage
Hello again family. I hope all has been well. I have just a couple of quick questions for you guys. My claim was filed 05-11. In November it went to the raters desk but was sent back to development due to an appointment for an MRI. I then was set with an appointment for orthopedic eval for surgery. I was sent back to physical therapy after my orthopedic evaluation and the claim went back to rating on the latter part of feb 2012. My questions are. If this claim went back to developmental due to an appointment for an MRI, what will happen if now I am sent back to ortho for surgery (which is happening). In addition, if surgery occurs, will this have any impact on my…
