The following appeared on Ebenefits for me last Friday, Jan 13. ptsd "action Completed"?
After study on hadit I have done almost all my claim work myself, but after my PTSD group I was put in contact with a knowledgeable American Legion service officer who was able to pull up my file. (it has sat at rating board flagged for hardship for 2 months now...) He said that he could see a note attached dated that day (tues) that said only "Action completed" but that he did not know what action. Would anyone have any knowledge of what this might mean?

ptsd Possible Cue?
I was found disabled by social security for depression in 1991. I did not know I could also apply for va compensation. I was awarded 30% by va in 2006 for depression (Mood Disorder). 2010 my disability was increased to 70% due to connecting military sexual trauma I had in service 1969. It was lumped into Mood Disorder once again even though it is severe depression and ptsd due to this trauma. Is this a cue or just too bad, I should have filed earlier? I have a great deal of difficulty speaking of any details of mst even today because the terror I had recreates the trauma like it is happening over. I have several other sc disabilities totaling 100%. I would really…

diabetes Agent Orange Question(S)
Hey, all. Not new here, but can't remember my log-in information, so I am ashamedly starting over. :) I have a question or two related to Agent Orange exposure, disability, etc. If there's a place where I can read up on it, please direct me so I don't have to waste anyone's time, but y'all have been so helpful before. OK, my husband is disabled. His paperwork says 50% but he's rated at 60%. I don't understand how that works, but he said it's a VA thing, and not supposed to make sense. Reading here, and online, we got a little information regarding his exposure. He was never in Vietnam, but was Vietnam era. He was working at several Army bases as an MP, wh…

Authorization Step
I have read postings on this that vary. A decision on my IU claim was made Dec. 20. I think I was advised via IRIS Dec., 23 or so that it was waiting to be "authorized". I then received a phone call from the VARO Dec. 30 that it was in "Authorization" and the next step would be a letter to my POA and, after they responded, a letter would be sent to me. Reading the VA Flow Chart I have some perception on what that might mean but I guess it depends on how the word is being used. What I do know is that it has been there almost a month. Any insight would be appreciated. "The "Authorization Team" is actually the Post - Determination Team. Post is the final step in the p…

Should I Drop Claim?
Back in Feb 2010, a claim was submitted with a lot of medical issues on it. It has been suggested to me by a Veteran's Advocate, that I respect very much, that I did something the VA does not like. I'm assuming that this is what is holding up my other claims and appeals. The VA is letting me know that they are in charge, and will deal with me by taking their sweet time. The Feb 2010 claim, I have already had a C&P, and have sent them a returned receipt letter telling them all the medical evidence that I have is in, but it is still under the "Gathering Evidence" stage. I honestly would think the VA would want everything on one claim and not several, but what do I …

ptsd Veterans With Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder To Receive Health Care For Life
WASHINGTON -- A federal judge has quietly approved a settlement that will deliver better benefits to nearly 2,100 veterans who've been medically discharged since 2002 with post-traumatic stress disorder. Under the settlement, one of several similar efforts now under way, affected veterans discharged with PTSD will get lifetime health care and post-exchange privileges. The affected veterans had been discharged with disability ratings that were too low to receive such benefits. Anthony Koller, for one, is an Army veteran who lives in Little Elm, Texas, about 50 miles north of Fort Worth. He survived 14 months in Iraq before being discharged with PTSD. His initial low disa…

Letter From The Va
Today I recieved a letter stating "We are still processing your application for COMPENSATION. We apologize for the delay." Which is weird, I've never recieved a letter like this before. A month ago, I called about my claim and I had a C&P exam on November 30th and the VA rep told me that they made the decision on my claim on December 8th. My question is usually a letter would state CLAIM not COMPENSATION, right? Which is fine with me.. if this is correct. Thanks

Reimbursement?
Can anyone tell me how I would get my reimbursement for Adaptive Equipment? Would it come in the form of a check directly to me or do the deposit it in my bank account? How long does it take after all the paper has been completed and signed by me and prosthetics agent?
