ptsd Need Help - Sorry Lenghty Post
I appreciate all of the advice and knowledge that I have received from this board. I am posting again because I have a unique situation that I need help with. My situation is rather lengthy, but I will try to be as brief as possible. I really need help understanding what is going on as well as what to do next. ( Past post at bottom of page related to this same claim) I am a 35 year old disabled vet, medically retired from service, married with three kids. My disabilities have worsened in severity and I haven’t been able to maintain suitable employment since Nov of 2007. Trying to get back to the work force in a non-physical capacity I enrolled in the Chapter 31 vocatio…

What Happens If I Am Awarded 100% For Cfs?
If things fell just right (or wrong) there is a possibility that I could be awarded 100% for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome alone. What, if any, unanticipated consequences would this have? I've seen something in these forums about a 100 percent rating somehow disqualifying a vet from being allowed to be employed. But from what I've seen those were mental health ratings (probably 'danger to self or others' or that kind of thing.) Would a 100 rating for this specific diagnosis alone (not a combined percentage) make the VA declare me unemployable?

diabetes Help For A Deceased Shipmate's Spouse
My spouse had 2 appeals pending, since 2007. He died waiting 2 months ago. The decision arrived 2 days ago. Diabetes (under Nehmer) and hearing loss (he had profound loss) granted and granted..He was already 30% for IHD. Since he was retired Navy, his 30% was offset by his retirement. (Both disability and retirement stopped at death) He did have paid up SBP. Since he is now deceased, will there be any effect to his surviving spouse since he filed in 2007? Or did they wait until he died to decide, knowing there is no retro or back pay? I'm posting this for a friend, my division officer's spouse. Jim passed away last fall & she has been goin through hell with VA, e…

ptsd List Of Sites For All Veterans
Below is a list of sites that was sent to me by my Skipper from Nam and he passed it on to all of his Battery. If any of these sites helps anyone let some one else know. Comment: Someone has gone to a lot of trouble to assemble this. Please pass this on to all Veterans on your e-mail list. Below are web-sites that provide information on Veterans benefits and how to file/ask for them. Accordingly, there are many sites that explain how to obtain books, military/medical records, information and how to appeal a denied claim with the VA. Please pass this information on to every Veteran you know. Nearly 100% of this information is free and available for all vetera…

New Clothing Allowance Request
It says on the VA website that the order to request multiple clothing allowances, you must fill out the VA Form 21-8678 and a VA Form 21-4138. Two questions: Has anyone requested multiple clothing allowances this year, if so what did you write on the 4138? Is the multiple clothing allowance retroactive to the Sursely v. Peake?

C&p Exam For Defered Contention
Good Afternoon, I have a quick question. I recently was award 60% SC with one contention defered and a request for additional evidence regarding another contention. To my surprise the local VAMC called me a few days later and completed the C&P the same day. Since then I have submitted my additional support information and sent same certified mail with return receipt, which arrived at the RO yesterday. Today I optained a copy of the C&P and I would like to know if it is an acceptable practive to send my C&P report to the RO also or let the VAMC send it since a request was made to them. I had until the 22nd of this month to submit my info and the VAMC has unt…

Accountability
I am having a hard time understanding why there is very little accountability by the dept of Vet Affairs for delays, mishandling claims, and unreliable information. It seems as if they do what they want when they want and there is nothing anyone can do about. There should be fines and penalties for treating veteras this way. I wish I could put my life on pause the way the have paused my claim (claim for increase and IU 6/05/2010). Who can veterans hold responsible. I would feel a whole lot better if some one would just flat out tell me "your claim is going to take two decades to process and here is why." Every article or news story I have seen only recognizes that there i…
