ptsd Bi-polar. Proving Sc.
Recently I filed for PTSD and BP disorder. When I was on active duty I was sent to drug and alcohol rehab. When I got off of active duty I was diagnosed by a VA doctor with BP disorder. I visited him approximately 3-4 times, and later returned to active duty. I am wondering, how best to prove SC for the BP. I did see a psychiatrist while on AD and he presribed me Luvox. I am not sure why he prescribed me that medication. I think it may have been because of depression or suicidal ideation. This was more than 10 years ago. When first diagnosed with BP disorder I still served in the National Guard. Currently I am waiting on MEB due to my BP. I am again in the National G…

Nehmer/ihd
Just received a brown envelope advising that VA is working on my dad's IHD claim. Dad was USN in Vietnam 68-70. IHD discovered in 77 along with lung cancer. He died in 81 of brain tumor resulting from the lung cancer. VA contacted us re Nehmer claim. We have submitted everything we have and they ordered his records from Record Center in MO. The letter we recently received indicates that VA is woriking on his claim, but all they have asked for is my brother and my Social Security Numbers. If they needed more evidence of my dad's claim wouldn't they have asked for that too?

Active Duty Medical Records Search
Hey guys, me again. :) I am hitting a brick wall here, trying to find Hubs' medical records. I am finding everything from the onset of TDRL, but nothing while he was active duty, and that's 17 years worth of records. Everyone I speak to says "Call these guys - THEY should have it." Yet no one has it. I read online that the records all merged with the VA for "one stop shopping" but the VA says they have nothing but VA records. They sent me to the National Archives center in St. Louis, but it clearly stated on the website "This isn't for active duty medical records - this is for VA records." Where would I find his active duty medical records? Thanks. :)

ptsd Difference Between A C&p And A Review
Hi all: What is the difference between a C&P and a review? I have a claim for housebound. I received a letter from the VARO that they requested a C&P, and that I should be getting an appointment in the mail from my local VAMC. That was a month and a half ago. Today, the VA Doc who refills my ptsd meds told me that another doctor at the VAMC reviewed my records. I asked her what that meant. She said she did not know. I asked her if I was scheduled for a C&P. She said no. Any ideas as to why a review was done instead of a C&P? Thanks, Mike S.

Status Change
Today my claim status in eBennies changed to Preparation for Notification. What does this mean? Is everything done and a letter on the way? What is a rough timeline from this status to receiving the big envelope? Thanks for any insights... Art

Veterans With Dependants Are Getting Shafted When They Reive Th Eir Awards
After many many years of monitoring this site and having my own claim approved, It a appears the VA is playing a game of lets hide the dependent pay. The proof is in the pudding. A Veteran fills out a 21 -526 for his initial claim to be submitted. On that form is the dependent and bank account questions. The names and proof is already submitted to the VA. When the claim is awarded, the VA often says we are paying you as a single veteran with no dependants. Then we have to jump through hoops with more paperwork to submit causing months in delays. This practice is bullshit. It is about time someone got it straightened out. Basser

Request From Nvlsp
If any of you know of any widow or surviving adult children of any Vietnam incountry veteran -who might be eligible for potential retroactive payments under the Nehmer Class action case, please advise them to file a claim with the VA ASAP. If they were denied DIC in the past but any one of the 3 new AO presumptives appears on their spouses death certificate and/or they could potentially be eligible, if they already get DIC now, for any accrued awards under the new AO regs, they should certainly file a new claim if they have not heard from the VA at all since August 2010. If they did receive the formal Nehmer letter, they should follow up on it by writing to the VA…

Results Of My Request For Va To Cue Itself
Erroneous decision received here Dec 7th 2011. I requested VA to CUE the decision on Dec 8th, 2011 Dec 30th 2011, I got letter saying that they 'received' my AO IHD SMC claim. Jan 6th, 2012 Rating decision has been made per 800# (the VA rep said they had never seen any thing decided that fast before) (I didn't tell them of the battle this involved- well not a battle, more just a very well focused large skirmish) Jan 9th, 2011 - waiting for decision to see if it is correct. CUE , as a collateral attack, can be used against the VA if they make a legal error so compelling that it is profoundly wrong. Legal errors only. And it pays to move fast on stu…
