Ssdi Question
Since my approval I have one question and I am trying to figure out if there was a benefit of doing this. I went over to the SSA and turned in my kids documents. They asked me if I wanted to add my wife to the dependents. I don't know if I will get anything more because all I know its all divided out evenly. But, if I added her would she then be qualified for medicare on the 25 month? Would she still be able to get medicare if she wasn't added? She doesn't make a whole lot so I know she can be put on there if she wanted to. Just curious about the medicare part. Thanks in Advance

I Filed For Ssd
When I first found this SSD section I thought I had made a mistake filing before I was service connected for any of my conditions. I applied a couple of months ago and was initially denied because I hadn't finished the adult disability report. (My mind was so full of stuff SS got lost in my head) When I got the denial letter it did say that I qualifed earnings wise. Going off the point system I'm 24 and smashed the points I needed to qualify. When I thought I would be denied again cause they wouldn't consider me disabled I found this in the impairments section 1.04 Disorders of the spine (e.g., herniated nucleus pulposus, spinal arachnoiditis, spinal stenosis, o…

Ssdi
I looked in previous post regarding social security disability, but I couldn't find what I was looking for. I am currently receiving ssdi and I was told that I need to file and claim that income on my taxes(over 30K). I filed my taxes for this year now I am hearing that ssdi should not be taxed. Any advice on this subject will help. Thanks in advance.

ptsd Has Anyone Had A Ptsd Exam With A Civilian Dr. For Ssdi?
Received a letter today informing me that in Feb I have a PTSD evaluation with a Civilian Dr. for my SSDI claim. Now why would they send me to a Civilian Dr. when I have been diagnosed with PTSD for 5 years by 5 military DRs, 3 months in Civilian Mental Hospital, and I am currently being treated by VA with multiple Meds and going to 16 week PTSD Trauma Treatment. I am so nervous, I can not stand a VA C&P, yet here I go with Civilian Docs. I know that some hate the Military and others have a lot of respect for Veterans. I am just so nervous and want to be done with all this crap. Sorry for rambling on guys.

Ssdi
I filed SSDI back in May and it was denied. I cannot believe they do not give you a physical and make a decision without an physical. That is crazy and this should not be allowed. From here should I file an appeal on my own without an attorney or let a SSDI attorney file the appeal? Also, anybody know any good SSDI attorneys? I know they are all over the internet and it seems Bergmann & Moore, who advertise on hadit, does not do SSDI. I need some help finding a good SSDI attorney. Thanks, Rob edit: Talked with an attorney a few minutes ago and whenever I told them I was 43 they said that probably why I was denied. This is some crazy stuff...How in the w…

Ssdi Hearing Set For January
Been waiting for about a 1 1/2 and my attorney is flying in from Texas. They are very confident with all the VA records and they are actually going to use Dr. Bash's two letters he wrote as an IMO. They said they can also use this letter for SSDI. They said they seen people with my condition all the time but its rare they see it in all three parts of the spine unless your an older person. The smack middle of January is my hearing and I hope the ALJ reads the records. I do know they are going to have a voc counselor there but what they don't realize is I was in Voc Rehab and doing great with a 3.8 GPA then boom my lower back went out and is now causing all kinds of pr…

Medicare And The Va
I keep reading that the VA cannot bill Medicare for non service connected care you receive there. Question is Now that they have rated me on the stroke will that raise any premium I have to pay for a medigap insurance? Being under 65 it is hard to try to find anything reasonable without them wanting to sell you a regular policy on line. I do not want them calling every 5 minutes pitching their products to me. Anyone go through this already?

tdiu Ssdi After Awarded Tdiu
My hearing is coming up next month for my SSDI claim. I have been on TDIU since March 2011 and my lawyer swears we have a very good chance of winning this case because I am already receiving TDIU from the VA. I have been turned down by Social Security before but have never had a hearing. Most cases I see on here have already been awarded SSDI, before they received TDIU. I'm the opposite. Anyone else had a case like mine ?
