1. tdiu Denied

   I received my letter of denial today from SSD, it is the one that took nine months to decide at the reconsideration level. I know that the VA and SS are different agencies and one does not mean you're a shoe in to get the other. I just thought that I had the evidence to prove I can't do any work. I am rated TDIU, 80%. 70% depression with anxiety, 10% tinnititis, 10% left knee. I also had problems where I was passing out. I wore a halter monitor and it was determined that I was in 3rd degree heart block with pauses lasting as long as 20 seconds. 3. Ssdi- Should I Prevent The Headache And Get An Attorney First?

   Lots of information in this forum... I was just rated 80% SC for TBI and Cognitive disorder... getting documents together to file for SSDI... should I avoid the headach and anxiety of an initial denial and just get an attorney?

4. tdiu Ssdi, I Was Told To File. What Are The Rules, Or Limitations?

   I have a TDIU appeal pending right now. I'm 80% right now. Haven't worked since Sep 08. I've heard about a file time that you need to request for Social Security benefits. What is this time line to file. What things do I file for? SSDI is like TDIU as far as i can tell basically, only for Social Security office. But I've heard of other things you can file for. How does one know what they can file for on these extra things. Also, I know with TDIU you can't work to much, but you are allowed to get a little money during each year as long as it is way below poverty money. You know like if you had a business making soda can people as sold them on ebay or someth…

5. Ssd Plus Va

   I have been receiving ssd for lower back disorder since 2008 (100%) have not worked since. My claim for lower back disorder (spine) is in the development stage with VA. If I am granted my claim how does it affect my SSD? Do I report my rating to SSD? What is the advantage of reporting it? What other benefits will I receive? thanks

6. Congressional Inquiry Did Help My Case

   My SSDI case is at the SSA Appeals Council in Falls Church, VA. I contacted my Senator back in December and now my case is finally being examined by the Appeals Council. Although I do not know the outcome yet but it did help to speed things along by contacting my Senator. I am still hoping for a positive outcome when the Appeals Council makes its decision. I'll keep everyone posted on the outcome.

8. Weight Of Ssdi Records

   After going to the VA's website and pulling up numerous BVA decisions, a question arises as to how much weight do the SSDI records actually have in their decisions? Of the (few) cases that I have read I don't see where it was a factor when making their decisions. If a vet is receiving SSDI for a SC condition, does that have much value when claiming IU for that same condition? Thanks, handler

9. Social Security Disability 20Yr Old Won

   After running the complete gambit our daughter won her SSDI claim. Her lawyer quit a 1 1/2 years ago .I LOVE THAT-no money to pay out= She finished by representing herself. They will go back to when she graduated.SS also stated shes been disabled since birth. 10. ptsd Pt Appt This A.m.

    for my knee. the dr asked me about my PTSD. wanted to know when dx, DETAILS & such. this is for a physical therapy appt to determine ssdi. WHY does he need to know about my PTSD? im pretty pissed about it. i personally think it had nothing to do with physical therapy. after i get a decision from SSA, i think i will report him.

11. Still No Letter

    While I have money in the bank I still have not received a letter of favorable decision. Also I did get a letter yesterday from SS to set up a password at their site and saw all my info as far as award amount date and all that stuff. Any members get awarded for SSDI lately not get a letter? I also would like to have a copy of how and what they decided just for my files.

12. Treating Psychiatrist Opinion

    A bit of history first - I applied for SSDI in March 2008 and was denied by an Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) in June 2010. Even though I had an outstanding IMO, the ALJ gave it very little weight as he stated it was a paid opinion. In researching how ALJs are supposed to give medical evidence weight, the treating physician is supposed to be given the greater weight. This was not possible in my case, as I had switched VA regions and was being bounced around between contracting psychiatrists. It was not until I had a problem that I was finally referred to a senior permanent psychiatrist - unfortunately only one visit before my ALJ hearing and the previous psychiatrists…

13. Ssdi Decision Made?

    Well went to the SS site and clicked on the application status thing. Put in the social and my number and waited for it to say still with DDS and in review. But this time it says Decision Made! Of course does not say what it is! Went to their version of the 800# that like the VA does not tell you anything! After a bunch of prompts I get a live person and ask what my status is and tell her I am calling because the online site said a decision has been made.
