ptsd Confused But Tollerant
I got a letter in August from the VA saying that I am 100% service connected disabled for PTSD and Major Depressive Dissorder with Alcohol Abuse. I immediately applied for Social Security Disability under chapters 12.04 and 12.06 as well as the physical disabilities that I have. I went for a general physical examination in December, and am representing myself. I called the prick/representative from the state 6 times and left a message all 6 times asking him to call me back to hel me understand why we were not discussing the "Blue Book". I have 2 identifiable diseases (common to veterans of war and trauma) from that book, specific to chapter 12. My phone never rang in …

ptsd Looking For Guidance
So, The VA says I am 100% SC disabled due to PTSD, Major Depressive Disorder and Alcohol Abuse. I am 20% SC because of my stomach problems, and another 10% because of my SC back problems. I am grateful to so many on this site for helping to make that a reality. Today I return to you asking what I should do to secure my SSDI benefits. They say that the "medical evidence shows that I can perform simple, repetitive tasks" and am therefore not disabled according to their definition. The SSDI has never sent me to see a Psychiatrist or a Psychologist. The only medical opinion on record is from a VA Psychiatrist stating that my mental conditions "preclude me from gainful emp…

Ssdi Application Status Changed
Well I checked the SS website for my application status and it said that a decision has been made. Checked with the bank and there was a large deposit from SS for backpay, no doubt. Wow, so glad it is over and with success. Had a really good judge and very experienced attorney. Thank you Lord!

Hearing Date
Finally I received my letter informing me of a hearing date with an alj. I was wondering what advice if any that you can share about how to deal with it. What to expect is it adversarial like a C&P exam. I am told there will be a vocational expert there. I'd like to know what job she says I can do where you can pass out and have seizures. Its not til December so I can feel my anxiety building already. Thanks in advance. /doc

Ssi But Not Ssdi
According to my SS Statement, it states I would be eligible for $581 a month at age 62, but do not qualify for SSDI due to not having 20 credits earned in the past 10 years. I worked for the Feds and didn't pay SS cause I was on the old retirement system CSRS. Prior to the Federal service, I did earn enough credits for SSI. As of 08, I was given a disability retirement due to my SC. The wife has been on SSDI since 98. My question is; Since I'm not eligible for SSDI at this time, could I apply for SSDI just for the Medicare purpose's and/or apply for half of the wife's SSDI? I still have a couple years before I'm 62. So there you go folks, anyone wanna take a bite on this …
