I was looking through my paperwork and I notice that on my last C&P decision I have a statement that reads: "We have deferred a decision on the folowing issues because we need additional information or evidence:" one spuring of LS and L4 with degenerative changes and lower back pain secondary to degenerative joint disease Scoliosis, lumber spine with lower back pain secondary to head trauma This was in December 7, 2007. C&p Exam Results (rentalguy1)
I went to the ROI office nd got a copy of my C&P exam results from 3/27. I think the cervical news is good, but not the Hiatal Hernia/GERD. I am currently rated at 20% for my cervical spine and requested increase, my ROM for my cervical spine per this exam is forward flex 0-15, ext 0-25, R lat 0-15, L lat 0-20, It states that ROM is consistent with baseline for individual. The way I read 38CFR, 0-15 for cervical ROM = 30% Rental is that correct?? I had an upper GI that reflects minimal sliding hiatal hernia with Schatzki B. ring. with water. Of siphon test and Valsalva manuever there was episode of reflux to the levl of the aortic arch. Impression: Small sl…

Letter Of Increase
I was going through all of the paper work I have form the VA in preparation for an upcoming C&P exam. Among the stacks of appointment schedules and other junk I found a letter dated Aug 13, 1999. This letter was sent after a C&P I had back then. The findings attached to the letter stated that I meet the criteria for 20% compensation. What makes this interesting is the fact that I have been receiving pay at the 10% rate. I called that 800# and faxed them the letter. I was told this would be opened as a claim and the letter would be forwarded to my RO. Should I be paid retroactive for the last 10 years? Has anyone seen this happen to anyone else?

Travel Board Decision
I went in front of the Travel Board in Atlanta on 12 February 2009 for an increase in my lower back condition, and pain down both legs. I am currently receiving 40% for lower back condition L5 - S1, and 10% for each leg because of burning pain. The Judge stated she wanted to close this case out within 30 days. My question is, when should I expect to get the rating back? Just a little history of my condition, I have had three back surgeries and the last one was a back fusion, which none of it has helped because I am still in pain.

Am I Paranoid?
First, most people here were obviously in the military and we all know the mentality most have towards our own physical abilities/deficiencies. Doc asks if my knee hurts because I'm limping, "Heck no!" I say, because I don't want to miss out on the patrol. Well when I went into the C&P exams I kept reminding myself that's the LAST thing I want to do, for obvious reasons. The point I'm getting to is that every doctor I saw(except the mental health docs) seemed to play on that mentality. I'd say my shoulder hurts when I do this or that and they *always* replied with something along the lines of 'Oh, so it's not too bad then, right?'. It almost got me to immediately…

C & P Exam For Back / Shoulder
i had a C & P Exam for my back and shoulders at the VAMC. i requested a copy of the exam and rec'd it in about 10 days. It is very well written with degrees of movement as associated with the exam. The only problem is the nurse Practitioner didn't measure anything. all my measurement are by sight. so to make a long story short....she said, In my opinion this injury is "less than not" due to his one time complaint of back pain in 1978. she also stated it has been 28 years following discharge.. Ironic as to the 28 years as my knee was service connected after 28 years... so am i out of the race with the statement of "less than not"?

Any Help With Interpetation Will Be Appreciated
I had my first C & P exam in Aug of 08. I was rated in Oct 08 with a 10% rating on my back for: Residuals, back surgery with degenerative arthritis I submitted a Notice of Disagreement in Nov 08 and had a secondary C & P in Jan 09. I recently requested a copy of the C & P notes for both exams, (I had no idea I had a right to a copy). There are some big differences between the 2, and am curious what those differences translate into. Can someone tell me what the results of the second exam will mean in regards to my rating, or a best guess. Thanks in advance. 1st exam Review of system: no radiation of pain, gradual onset of pain, constant duration of pa…
