A couple of questions
I filed a Supplemental to my initial claim within the 1 year timeframe. The VA made me redo it as an increase claim since Supplemental is only for denials, is this correct? Also I received the C&P exam today and it had this. Which falls under the 30% Occupational and social impairment with occasional decrease in work efficiency and intermittent periods of inability to perform occupational tasks, although generally functioning satisfactorily, with normal routine behavior, self-care and conversation But further down it has these marked which I think would bump it to 50%. [X] Depressed mood [X] Anxiety [X] Panic attacks more than once a wee…

PTSD STRESSOR LETTER
I 'm looking for some assistance I put in a claim for PTSD and Anxiety base on guidance from my Va health care provider. She stated that I had anxiety, depression and ptsd. I've talked to her about some issues that I've been having for some years now, and I just recently decided to act on them. She referred me to a M.H doctor back in 2019, I talked to them on a zoom call because Codvid was going on at that time. They questioned me on two different occasions by zoom. I looked back at the notes and they stated something about me having anxiety disorder and depression. I'm currently taking medication for nightmares, insomnia and anxiety prescribed by my Va health provider…

PTSD and gambling?
So I found out today that my Uncles neighbor is 100% for only ptsd. He tried talking to me while I was visiting my uncle. He then invites me to go to the casino with him to play cards; which, I declined. I'm not judging but it is peaking my curiosity. How do 100% ptsd veterans manage to go gambling in a crowded casino that requires interaction, but can't work? I'm not judging or plan on reporting. Not my job or business to try to report people. I just want to understand it.

PTSD
So I was diagnosed with PTSD after service for service related incidents. VA had QTC set me up with a therapist. That therapist concluded I suffered from PTSD (service related) as we as Indecisive Depression Disorder with Manic Episodes. The VA just sent me a packet asking for exact dates of incidents. How am I supposed to remember that?

Marijuana and controlled substances
Hey, I'm prescribed adderall for my ADHD and I'm prescribed tramadol for my shoulder pain. If they legalize medical marijuana in my state, could I use marijuana without losing these controlled substances by the VA?

PTSD re eval experience after 10 years
Hi Everyone! I recently filed for TDIU because of my tbi and ptsd symptoms getting worse. I am currently rated at 90%. The appointment was with an outside evaluator contracted by the VA. My experience was disappointing where they led me to an empty room to wait, the mh physician came into the room left the door open and started reading the disclaimer out loud. I was upset and firmly said to them "this is a private matter, and any appointment will be accomplished in the privacy of an office behind closed doors". Then after trying to fill out the multiple pages of paperwork in private with the door closed, they said i was taking too long and they would do the inte…

Mental Health Diagnosis changed at C&P exam
Back story: Filed a claim for PTSD in 2016. The claim was denied, BUT the stressor was conceded. The C&P doctor stated that the symptoms weren't prevalent enough and I was already diagnosed with Bipolar disorder that wasn't service connected at the time. In 2018 I received a 50% rating for Bipolar and 30% for migraines. In 2022 Bipolar rating was increased to 70%. I recently filed a TDIU claim for Bipolar and Migraines, and submitted letters in support from psychiatric doctor, primary care doctor and therapist. At my Mental Health C&P the VA contract doctor updated my diagnosis to PTSD and Bipolar, with overlapping symptoms. She marked "Total Social and …

C/P for PTSD
I had my C and P exam for PTSD, It on lasted 15 mins/ I am worried but at the same time I felt it was a positive exam. He stated my "case is straight forward". The exam is a VA doc. I am being treated by the VA for PTSD/Panic attacks but she only deals with meds part and does not do diagnoses, so no Diagnoses for PTSD even those it is there and I tested positive for PTSD. The waiting is the hardest part. Has any of you had a quick PTSD C/p Exam? If so how did it go. this is my first C/P for PTSD.

PTSD/anxiety CLAIM
I was looking for some assistance, I'm currently having some issues I'm working through. I talked to VA back in April, I was dealing with the problems on my own. They seemed to get worst after covid started. My primary VA doctor stated that I possibly had PTSD and referred me to mental health. Due to covid the appointment was done via video conference. The psychiatrist doctor stated that I had anxiety disorder and depression. Anxiety disorder score 21, Depression score 23, Pcl score 5, Ptsd score 67. I'm currently taking Zolpihem for insomnia, and Prazosin for nightmare. I had an appointment with them via video about a month later about possible taking some class, I haven…

C&P exam and alcohol
I filed my claim for PTSD, and secondaries for PTSD Tinnitus, Hearing Loss, and Sleep Apnea. Thinking ahead to my C&P exam, I was thinking about alcohol usage. I am a beer drinker. I drink every day and I probably drink 10 beers on most days. I drink way too much and I know that. When the VA psych diagnosed me with PTSD before I filed a claim, he asked me about alcohol usage and I told him that I drank a couple of beers a day. I was not honest with him and if I am honest with myself, I am embarrassed about it. I am thinking it will come up again with the C&P exam. I read the what to expect document on this website and it says to tell the examiner that …

PTSD
So I got an email from the regional office for my appeal. We are now at 1 year and 6 months in. They sent to me for a video appointment, but did not even look to see that I had declined and only wanted to get a decision. They said they removed the video appointment now and said they sent it to the Law judge for a decision(this is just for a EED). I was told I could work with a VSO to do a pre-decision brief. Does anyone have an idea of how long I have to do this? Or do I even need too? This claim is the left over from Berry Law Firm as they won a higher PTSD rating but they moved up the date to 2021 and not 2013 when the claim was filed. I think they alr…
