ptsd Fast Track And Cue
Once again, this is something NO one has told my husband. He has applied for an increase in his PTSD and had 2 appts. with C & P. He's currently rated for 50% PTSD and 10 % hearing. (This was awarded to him through a Veterans Rep Office in Tulare Ca. in 2002.) He has kept every appointment with the VA in Fresno and under the care of a primary care physician and psychologist since then. In May of 2010 we heard gunshots outside our home. Gary ran toward the gunfire. He saw our neighbor fall from being shot. He turned him on his side so he would not choke on his blood and held pressure on his wounds. When the police arrived, they told him it was not considered a cr…

ptsd Ptsd Claim
I am currently rated at 50 percent for PTSD and under the advisement of my doctor and my county rep went for 100 percent based on unemployability...Must say I am impressed with how little time it took from claim entry to c and p exam. (less than 6 months, first time I applied waited nearly 3 years.) had the c&p on 12-15-10 and had a doc appointment today, asked for copy of what c&p examiner put in my record...The last line he writes is what my question is about. He writes "Veteran's current lifestyle and intensity of symptoms make him unemployable in his career field...Anyon have a clue as to wether or not it would be safe to say that our goal was reached?

Gulf War Claims With Cue
I get so many claim from veterans whose claims filed under section 3.317 are still coming back with CUE. When will the RO's get it right? I had an RO not long ago deny a GWI claim stating that there was no proof that the illness started while the veteran was in the service. I guess the RO needs classes on just what " presumptive to service" is about. They should also read the law again, the court cases that rules on this back in the 90's and the VA guide lines sent out in 1998. But then again I have some veterans that their RO's are asking them to prove that they have been sick in the service or the one year since they left. They too must not have read the court c…

ptsd How Should I Proceed?
Good Afternoon All, I want to preface this note by saying that I stumbled across this site by accident, while searching for information regarding getting an increase in several of my service-connected disabilities, including migraines & chronic lower back pain. For the most part, everyone seems to be especially helpful and supportive of one another and it is truly refreshing to know that there is a community out there in which the individual understand exactly what I'm going through. So thank you all for providing valuable, relevant information. A little background: I served in the Army from 2001 to 2005. I deployed with the advance party to Baghdad, Iraq in Ma…

Prolonged Exposure Therapy
My VA therapist is really pushing this Prolonged Exposure Therapy. He keeps telling me that PET is soooooo tremendously effective and that EVERY one of his vets who have been through it have had EXCELLENT results. Now he's got a 'new' dvd from the VA that supposedly shows real vets talking about how much PET helped them (as opposed to the actors they had in the 'old' dvd...). He thinks that if I'd watch the dvd I'd feel more comfortable about going through PET. I wonder if the VA made a dvd of real vets who talk about how PET has made them worse? Probably not.

ptsd Secondary Ptsd Condition
"The other diagnosis for Axis I is Eating Disorder NOS. The multiple Axis I diagnosis diagnoses are related and the secondary diagnosis does represent a progression of the primary diagnosis because claimant would eat as a means of calming his anxiety throughout the years leading to morbid obesity The symptoms of each mental disorder cannot be delineated from each other. The eating disorder is intertwined with the symptoms of the PTSD and can not be clearly delineated." Axis II: Diagnosis Deferred on Axis II. Axis III: Deferred to medical evaluation. Axis IV: Severe chronic health conditions, exposure to extreme traumatic experiences in the service, inabi…

ptsd P&t Claim
Hey everyone, I am ramping up to open a claim for P&T PTSD. I am currently rated 100% PTSD and want to get all my ducks in a row before submitting for a claim and possible C&P exam. I am wondering what sorts of documentation or other proof would help in winning the permanent status. Right now what I have is: 1) I have been receiving SSDI for about the same amount of time as VA Dis Comp 2) I have been attending both individual and group therapies as much as possible with little to no improvement 3) I have obtained a service dog for help with my PTSD symptoms I also plan on bringing my wife to my C&P exam who can elaborate on what life is like w…

0% Rating And Nehmer
I got a 0% rating for heart disease secondary to DMII back in 2006. In 2008 after 2 years of appeals I got 60%. Do I have any recourse under Nehmer? The VA cheated me on the effective date anyway giving me the date I won my appeal instead of the date I made the claim. I only ask because I got "S" based on when I got the 60%. I got the Nehmer letter saying I was not on the list.

ptsd Nexus Statement For Ptsd - Triggers
Hi everyone, First of all I want to thank you for all the information I get from this site. My question is about the needed nexus statement for a PTSD claim. I recently had a C and P exam and the closest thing to a Nexus was the last paragraph. RECOMMENDATIONS: "After reading the C-Folder , the electronic medical records and the medical literature it is reasonable to conclude that the veterans allegations of manifesting PTSD as a result of sexual abuse(victim) are considered credible and the PTSD in question is fully linked to the service. The conclusions of these reports are based purely on the veterans allegations. This examiner does not have independent verifi…
