He has 10 hand-written pages in his C-File. The following are the most salient experiences that the veteran has had. The veteran had gread difficulty in relating his military history due to emotional upset. The veteran reported…

ptsd Question
Hello, I had symptoms of anxiety and depression during active duty. I filed a claim for anxiety and depression. VA scheduled a mental examination for me. The examiner asked me all sorts of questions about my life before, during, and after active duty. She asked if anything had led to my anxiety symptoms during service. I told her about an incident where I was beaten up, nothing to do with combat, I was never in a combat environment. She wound up diagnosing PTSD (which I had not claimed) and stated it was due to my assault in service. VA denied my claim because I had no verified stressor. Does this sound right? Any recommendations? Thanks

ptsd Ptsd Claim Approved- Hoow Do I Get Into Group Therapy Sessions?
I am writing this for Rockman. I was not sure if this was the right forum or not. If not, you can place it where it does belong. Rockman went to his his last one on one CPT therapy on 03/07/11 at our local CBOC with his mental health lady. The mental health lady had him make an appointment for one month out. That way he could see how he was doing without coming to her. His PTSD C& P was on 03/08/11. When he went back to see her, he asked if she could see in his file as what he should do next. He told her that the examiner did diagnose him with PTSD. She had no clue as to how to look it up in his file. Rockman asked her about group therapy and she did not know w…

ptsd Dav & E-Benefits
I received a letter from the DAV Regional Office telling me that it looks like I will get 30% for PTSD and the claim for a seperated wrist (arthritis) was deferred. When I went into E-Bnefits a couple of days ago it had my claim in the Notification Phase, now it has it back in the Developmental stage. I have had the C&P for both, was the claim sent back to the beginning dure to the deferral of the arthritis claim ? This is a little confusing. Anybody know whats up ?

ptsd Did I Make A Mistake?
Maybe, I have screwed up my PTSD claim. I was given an initial C&P exam with a QTC Doctor that is very well known here in San Antonio. He only spent about 15 minutes with me, and I ask him was that enough time. He said that he has spent so much time with Vietnam Veterans that it does not take him very long to Dx for PTSD. The VA granted me 30%. Some months after that I got a letter stating that they wanted to reevaluate me for PTSD. The exam was in Oct 2010. Another Doctor did the exam and spent more time with me, and the one part that I believe the VA is having an issue with is that she clearly states in her report that the PTSD is the cause of my over eating …

ptsd Varo Letter
I received a letter from the VARO indicating that a 30% service connected disability for PTSD should be forthcoming. I intend on filing for CRSC. My question is, As the C&P write up stated that the PTSD was from combat exposure in Vietnam, is that all the proof the CRSC board needs to make a determination ? I know I have to go through the "write up" in the application, but is this pretty much just filing a V.A. claim all over again ? Also, thanks for everyones help from this forum during my waiting process.

ptsd Recent Letter
so i have a ptsd claim and heart aschemia going on...my question is...i received a letter from v.a. that states they cannot find my IN SERVICE records for my claim??? Is this a typical letter that goes out? I have NO in service claim records as the ptsd and heart ischemia diagnosis was done a year ago? so they said on the letter that to look else where would be futile. Is this the END of my claim? or is this a form letter they sent just to inform me , as they said that no other in service records can be found of my claim..its crazy to me, as i didn't have any inservice claim for anything 40 some odd years ago...no one knew about ptsd, or AO! thanks i was ramb…

ptsd How To Fast-Track Any Va Claim..........especially Ptsd
Get ALL your ducks in a row. Get set up with the VA Medical Center, get your VA ID card (fill out form 10-10EZ). See your Primary Care Physician and tell them of the problems that you are having and get set up for treatment for these problems. In other words, establish a record of treatment. And get copies of this treatment. Especially important if you are being treated for PTSD at your local VA facility, you MUST get VA diagnosis for your PTSD. Get all your Service Medical Records and get your service records showing where you were (especially pertinent to PTSD and Agent Orange). IF any of your service records show any treatment or any indication leading to the reason …
