Authorized At Amc
I was informed by the 800 number people that my favorable BVA decision has been authorized this month (12th). Also, I received a letter from the DAV informing me that they reviewed the AMC decision and that I would be receiving an award letter. Question: Does anyone have any experience with this. After authorization, how long should I expect to wait for the "official" award letter from the AMC? 1 month, 2 months, somewhere in between? Appreciate any help you can provide. Gardener

tdiu What Are My Chances?
I am new to this board and this is my story: In 1986 I was medically discharged and received a 40% rating for left elbow fracture and a 0% rating for Ulnar Nerve Paralysis left arm. I was lucky I received my rating 30 days after my discharge. I had three surgeries on my left elbow prior to my discharge each one was to try and correct the mistake of the prior surgery. I finally said leave it alone and they discharged me. Then in 2002 I received an increase in my rating to 50% PO excision left radial head and 10% Tardy left ulnar nerve palsy. I had an elbow fusion in 1994 because of the problems that developed in the elbow and I was given tem…

After reviewing my most recent C&P exam the examiner stated the following: "It is this examiner's opinion the Veteran's combined service connected and non service connected conditions prevent the veteran from being gainfully employed for light or heavy duty." He goes on to list each one and gives "light duty" for each disability individually and no for "heavy duty." He lists knee condition (SC) He lists IHD (pending) He lists spine condition (non SC) What do ya'll think? Still working but my health will cause me to retire later this year. Appreciate any input based on experience. Thanks

ptsd About To File For Tdiu Help!
Hello everyone! This is my first post here on hadit. I have been having a hell of a time getting TDIU. I was also one of the many people who were informed that you have to be atleast 70% before you can apply. Now that I know thats not the case I am going forward with this. I was reading posts here on hadit and ran across this VA Form 21-8940. I will be filling this out. Just to give a little background on my issue. I am a combat veteran of OIF. I was in the Army as 11B/Infantry. I have the combat infantry badge also. SC at 50% PTSD 10% tinitus ,60% total SC. I went through VA Voc Rehab shortly after I was released from active duty in April of 2007 and was found infeasabl…

tdiu Thank You All So Much For Your Help
I would just like to thank everyone on this forum for the help I have received here. I found this forum 1 1/2 years ago when I had to consider putting into the VA for compensation, and started researching how exactly to do so. I filed the paperwork (with info I found on this forum on VSO's and applications, etc.) based upon having been diagnosed 35 years ago, while in the military, with agoraphobia/panic disorder. I have suffered from it since, unable to work. I received no treatment from the military and was eventually honorably discharged, due to my problem. (Actually, I received a 10-day light duty chit when diagnosed, and a 20-minute appointment with a military…

If and when my IHD goes through I will be rated at 90% and plan to apply for TDIU. If I am awarded TDIU will the benefits be the same as P&T? Especially the health insurance for my wife?

Did your 100% TDIU award grant you Ch 35 and CHAMPVA? If it did then you are considered P & T, if Not then you are not considered P & T.

tdiu Tdiu Any Advice ?
Hi, A little background on me and my claim. I am 80% with the VA. I have had a partial right foot amputation and have been on 100% Temp. for 3 years with a 1 month break in each years. Myself and my VSO have been working with the state side of claims with my claim. Back in Feb.2010 the reginonal office sent word to my VSO to have me complete the IU paperwork and submit the claim (this was the RO idea ). I have already completed the C&P exam and my regional office has got the C&P report back and is evaluating it. Today I went to the B'ham VAMC and got a copy of my medical records and it had my C&P exam in it. I reviewed the C&P exam and this was a Gen. Med …

Iu Denied Despite What C&p Doctor Said
I recently got my rating back and was denied IU. Although the C&P exam Dr. wrote that I was unable to work due to my SCCs. I also sent paperwork from the treating Doctors saying I was unable to perform my duties/job. This rater also decided not to use any of the things the C&P doctor said, because it would have granted me IU. I have filed NOD, but this shows how broken this system is and why there is such a "backlog". They are so busy trying to deny us. Now I guarantee had that Doc wrote there is no reason he could not work all the information would have been used. Just MHO. Any thoughts?

tdiu Question On Effective Date
I posted the other day that I was still waiting for my favorable portion of the BVA decision. This decision was "stuck" at the AMC with other remanded issues. I just spoke with someone at the 800 number and was informed that a new entry was posted with today's date (23rd), and that it was now at authroization. I wanted to ask a question concerning the effective date (obviously jumping the gun, but curious none-the-less). All little background. I originally filed for service connection in 2003. I was notified in 2006 that I had been granted service connection (at the % that made me eligible to file for TDIU), and this was made retro back to 2003. Then, after receivin…

tdiu Bva Granted Tdiu Year Ago Not Implemented Yet
I am new to this forum and would like to ask a question. Thanks for everyone's service BVA granted my TDIU almost a year ago, but this favorable grant was sent with a couple of remanded issues to the AMC. On 6/14/10 I received a SSOC from AMC denying the remanded issues and three other issues that were not remands. Today I returned the 30 day waiver form (faxed and mailed a copy) to the AMC asking them to just send the denied claims back to the BVA. Once they receive this waiver will the AMC implement the BVA decision giving me the TDIU? and then send the rest on to the BVA to decide? I spoke with the local regional office today and was told that the AMC wou…
