ptsd Tdiu
I am new and having problems sorting this all out. I have been diagnosed Chronic PTSD, MDD, GAD and agoraphobia. GAF's are 46 to 50, unemployed since feb 09 due to PTSD etc. My claim was filed in jan 10 and still waiting. Was in a helicopter crash and survived. Now, when do I file for TDIU? VA psych knows I have not worked because of PTSD since Oct 09. I know I am getting the cart before the horse but I just want to know what to do. Since I cannot work because of this wretched problem do I and when do I file for SSDI? It is hard to put all of this in order in my brain these days. Thanks for any paths I should take.

tdiu Got My Letter From Surgeon Today For Iu
Well here it is Nuerosurgeon has been treating me for several years and reviewed my latest MRI. MRI showed 3 level Degenartive disc disease (for which I am SC) and Herniated disc. it stated his opinion that I am not able to seek gainful employment due to SC back condition. Surgeon did state in his letter surgery will be needed to stabilize back with a 3 level lumbar fushion and decompression. Surgeon also stated any questions could be addressed to him about TDIU as it is in his opinion PT as back will only worsen with time. I know you all have more experience with claims for IU I would like any ideas if there is anything else I need? My current claim is at the appeal lev…

ptsd Tdiu Decision Any Day Now!
How Do TDIU and P&T Relate? S.O. DAV says likely TDIU is an any day now DRO Decision. Can someone help me understand the relationship between TDIU and P&T...how does one get a P&T decision ? Have DIB from SS and currently at 30% PTSD, 60% total with DM-II and PN in the mix. SS ALJ wrote disabled perm due to "severe PTSD". Would appreciate some clarification on TDIU, P&T pros/cons and how you are granted P&T ??? thanks, friends - Winkjo Semper Fi

tdiu Been Bothering Me For Days!
Soc Sec ALJ awarded total disability with DIB to commence on January 1, 2003. It seems--according to my Service Officer--that TDIU will be awarded very soon. If my DIB was initiated on 1/1/'03, why would an EED for newly granted TDIU not be the same start date as DIB ? I felt that it should be same-same, but my SO says not neccessarily so (???) B) If there are some opinions, if not the gospel out there amongst us, I think many of us may benefit from good feed back on this one! Winkjo

tdiu Anyone Have Experinced This Problem
Hello I met with my Civillian Surgeon today who is wiling to put it in writing that my current back condition and after my surgery I am unemployable due to the effects of constant pain and the Fushion on my back not allowing movement. His opinion is that looking at my records treatment records and MRI prior to surgery my back is not productive of allowing me to work a gainfull job. I think what helped was the VA examiner who listed the limits of ROM and the fact that after 2 surgeries I am still unable to walk without crutches and I have been falling a lot. It is funny I have told this to 2 or 3 other Doctors/surgeons but none of them wanted to offer me any help. I have …

tdiu Should I File Now Or Wait
I am currently rated at 70% for the following: 20% DM II 30% PN left upper extremity 20% PN right upper extremity 10% PN lower extremities bi-laterally I have a claim submitted for an increase in benefits for lower extremities which were rated as mild but are now severe and have had my C&P exam. Should I file for TDIU now or wait until this claim is settled? As I understand it, when a certain % is reached for a common etiology, TDIU is infured. Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated.

tdiu Is This Vet Qualified?
My cousin's waiting for a decision on his 1151 claim, which (if approved) would give him service-connection for almost total blindness that was caused by delayed treatment and misdiagosis of an eye infection that destroyed his retinas in 1998. He was working at that time. Since he filed what the VA may consider an 1151 claim in 1998 (and a more specific claim in 2004, and again in January), we are asking that his disability compensation begin effective 1998. If the VA disagrees that the paperwork filed in 98 constitutes an 1151 claim, it may just start the claim in 04. So, even if he's "retired" now at 73, is there any period after 1998 (when he was working at age 6…

ptsd Like Some Input On How To Handle This Night Mare
I am rated 80% SC combined. In my last letter to the VA I asked for SC for my back problems and TDIU. I filled out the 21-8940 thinking there would be know problem with the back injury. Of course there was a problem and I was denied because I could not provide all the DR's I had seen of the last 37 years. I did have records of the injury, but no nexus. When I filled out the 21-8940 I stated the date that affected full-time employment, same day for last day worked and same date for "became disabled to work". My wife also was paying me from our small business even though I was not working. These dates where all June 2004. Prostatitis now rated at 20% from 0 dam…
