ptsd Small Pension Derail Me?
I'm 80%; 70% PTSD and then diabetis and my original battle wound. They are leaning on me more and more at work as I come up short in my performance. I don't know how much longer I can make it. I and too old for post office disability, but have a minor child and a son in college ($). I will never get SS, but I will get pension (that's too small to live on given my huge debt from my inability to manage my life smartly). My main question is: Is a pension that is greater than the ammount you are able to earn under TDIU a deal breaker? OR doesn't it count as employement income? When they or I decide I can't do the work anymore I have a period of sick leave wher…

tdiu Should I Apply For Tdiu Or Wait For Increase
I have applied for an increase in my sc disability rating and have not heard anything yet. Currently I am 40% but have been unemployed for a year. I was a teacher but was placed on crutches and have been seeing a Neurologist for past year. You can't chase elementary kids on crutches. Nerologist doesn"t know the cause of my nerve problems and I have trouble finding a job because of this. :)

ptsd When Do I File?
I currently am 10% SC for tinnitus, and have had my C&P for TBI and PTSD and am waiting for a decision. In the mean time, I was just informed that I was approved for SSDI. The person processing my claim at SS asked me to sign a release and used my VA C&P results as well a PTSD IMO. Do I need to wait on a decision from VA before I file for IU? Is it possible to submit my application for IU before a decision on SC for PTSD and TBI has been reached. Thank you in advance for your time, Quibley

tdiu Poll - Did You Get Tdiu With Depression At 30%?
Say a vet has several service connected issues depression already rated 30% and is on ssdi for SC physical conditions. Tdiu is awarded due to mental health examiner opinion that all these do cause the vet to be unemeployable. No mention of ssdi, not sure if that is normal. Question: Does the 50% in the rating schedule seem to say 'unemployable' basically unable to work? thanks for your thoughts. Occupational and social impairment with reduced reliability and productivity due to such symptoms as: flattened affect; circumstantial, circumlocutory, or stereotyped speech; panic attacks more than once a week; difficulty in understanding complex commands; …

Should I open a claim for entitlement to individual unemployability? I received a letter, with the following statements from the Department of Veterans Affairs, Vocational and Rehabilitation Counselor: “After carefully reviewing the evidence, I have determined that it is not reasonable to expect you to be able to train for or get a suitable job at this time.” “In reaching my decision, I considered the following evidence: our discussion on September 1, 2009 determining that you will focus on utilizing individual mental health treatment in order to gain stability concerning your PTSD.” Vietnam veteran with a SC disability rated at 90% with the following con…

ptsd Is This A Normal Procedure?
Greetings, I hope that this post finds everyone in the greatest of spirits. I had just one question/concern. I applied for and increase in benefits in March 2009. I received the VCAA notice November 2009 and it stated that they were working on my claim for PTSD & Individual Unemployability. I was rated 10% SC in 2007. Is it a good thing that they initiated the TDIU, or is this the norm?I have been out of work since 2006 due to my SC, Receive SSD. I was awarded Voc Rehab Benefits in March 2009.

Iu
Hello, I am a 70% Disabled Vet and recently was awarded 100% IU after many years. I am a resident of Illinois. I have been trying to find out what I exactly qualifiy for since receiving the 100% IU. I am wondering about the Disabled Veterans' Standard Homestead Exemption (DVSHE). Do I qualify any higher than the 70% which is $2500.00. Or am I able to get the $5000.00 EAV reduction for the 100%. I have called many offices to check on this. The VSO in Will County said that I do qualify but would have to check with the Department of Veterans Affairs. I called the VA and they said that is a state benefit, they had no idea, they didn't even know IL had such a program. I call…
