Voc-rehab Subsistence Allowance
Does anyone know when the payment is deposited? I thought I would get it on the 30 of December or at least before school starts. I start school on January 14. Will it happen on the 30th of January?

What To Expect At First Vr&e Meeting After Assessment & Orientation.
Hello, I'm new. I understand this is a long post; so thanks in advacne to all who helpiong Veterans. I've recently signed a POA with a NSO with the DAV. He says I'm way under rated for my SC issues, and we are moving forward on increasing my claim. Previously, I gave up because the rating decisions were as ridiculous as the process. He also got me to apply for VR&E considering my plan to return to school to complete my degree. Recent economic misfortune, age, and SC issues are the catalyst. Recently, I relocated from SoCal to the Bay Area after losing a business in LA with my brother. That's another long ugly story. Most importantly after losing the busines…

Infeasible
I was told by my Voc Rehab counselor today that she was disenrolling me from the program due to IU status and poor performance due to SC disabilities. I spoke with my SO and he said that I could not use this to get a P&T rating. Is this true and how would I go about using it as evidence. Thanks /doc

Hi, I was scheduled for Voc Rehab and when I got the letter I knew that I could not sit for the 5+ hours for testing. I am 100% PTSD and sit in my bedroom watching TV. I would like to do something besides watch TV. I would like to learn to paint or draw. Does anyone know who I would contact to learn these skills? Thank you

Looking For A Great Attorney For A Chapter 31 Denial Case
Anyone have one? I've had it with these bureaucrats the VA hires. Especially the non-Veterans, who have know clue what we are talking about. The one they assigned me isn't a Vet, understands VA double-speak, but has absolutely no common sense. I sent my complaint to the Director's office in Washington, and they forwarded it back to the idiots. I was Infantry in Vietnam, wounded, and did my job. This is what I took shrapnel for. I need a good lawyer who has some experience fighting the VA. p.s. Here's how they see us. I've heard this more than once from VA staff: "You get a disability for a scar." My response: Yea bitch, I have a scar. I also spent 6 m…

Bachelors Degree Here I Come
Just got approved for school with Voc-Rehab. I start school January 11 and orientation is December 15. I have 66 more hours to complete my BS in management. This degree is strictly online. I have completed 58 hours at a Junior college and they were all online. I just prefer online courses.

Any Va Or Vr&e Experts Out There?
In a nutshell: Signed a contract recently with Voc Rehab to go back to school full time on a certain date. I responded to my commitments and followed up with school and case manager. School never receives VA paperwork, Case Manager would not respond to emails or calls. This went on for several months after deadline missed. (Just occasional "whoops there was a slight problem!" but would not respond to any emails or calls.) End result, I go on public assistance (emergency food stamps) and have mental breakdown. I do not qualify for disability because I am not totally disabled. Not able to work due to service connected injury - need skill set update. Yet unable to…

Attending Classes On Ch31, But May Not Pass Classes
I've been on ch 31, part time, for about two years. I believe i've got "employment handicap" - 40% service connected My voch rehab counselor had me attend the local veteran community reintegration center before approving ch31 (homeless and drug issues, largely resolved now). I had a few personal issues this term (ended a relationship, and started abusing ADD medication), and i doubt if i'll pass my classes. I had a similar situation with a year ago and i dropped my classes, counselor was pretty gracious about it then. I'm concerned about my well being now, and i want to take some time off, then get back into school after a few months. Should i drop classes now and…

Chapter 31 Voc Rehab
I applied for Voc rehab benefits over a month ago. What is a reasonable length of time to expect answers from the va on my application? I am 40% SC disabled, and also meet all the other criteria for the benefits.

Well, Filed Online For Vr&e, Now What?
So,.... I finally decided to go ahead and follow the advice of the VA counselor at the local office and file for VR&E. I went online and filled out the form 2 months ago. I answered all the questions honestly and described how I really felt about my disabilities and how it prevents me from obtaining gainful employment, especially because I don't have any other job skills. I also stated, and I was serious when I said, that I really DO want to get a job that will allow me to support my wife and daughter and if accepted, I would be 100% COMMITTED to completing the VR&E program. So,...there it is. NOW...,What I'm wondering now is: How long should I expect to wa…

I Am Having Problems With Voc. Rehab
Yesterday I relized that it had been eight years since I walked out of work to join the military (Not that I wasn't planning to do so any ways. but when the towers fell I felt I had no choice but to step up for my family and country. I could have held out and got some college for a higher pay grade upon entry, but the times did call. I injured my back during training, I finished all of my academics but could not complet the phyisical tests. needless to say I was Med. boarded out against my will. like most trainees that get med boarded It was grilled into me that I was useless. I tried to stay in, thinking that if bruce LEE could come back from a back injury so could I. …
