Is Subsistance Retroactive?
I am rated 80% and just met with Voc Rehab and was told I qualify. I am already in school (started last June) and they are fine with the program I am in. I have 2 questions that I can not find answers to so any help would be appreciated. 1)Is my subsistance retroactive back to June when I started school? 2)The number of credits I am taking varies between 1/2 (6 credits),3/4 (10 credits), and fulltime(12+ credits)depending on the classes that are offered for the term. Because this varies do they adjust my payments for each term accordingly or will they just pay me at the lowedt rate regardless of credits (my voc rehab counselor has a copy of intended credits for each…

Can Anyone Make Some Suggestions For Ils
It would be greatly appreciated if any one could provide some suggestions for what to try in an Independent Living Services program. I have read all kinds of posts on the subject, anything from computers, digital cameras, pots & pans, to Flat Screen Televisions. Modifications to the home etc... I need some ideas and maybe some help in putting it all together. Also is the ILS program a one time entitlement, if you already had one, what about upgrades and/or supplies?

Independent Living
I applied for Voc Rehab to get Independent Living to hopefully remodel bathroom from sunken tub to a walk in shower. Started out rather badly when I got an assessment letter and a group appointment. I got an email and told the Chancellor that all I wanted was Independent Living. They were pretty nice but I had to take all the tests. They made us watch a film and they had some scenarios where actors preteded that they were Veterans who were Service Connected and how Voc Rehab could help them. One of the scenes a Marine meets a buddy at a barber shop they recognize each other and now get this. He said he got out for medical after 16 years and VA Service Connected him …

tdiu Ils Home Assessment On March 19th
I've read many posts on Independent Living, but what can I expect to gain from it! Also, I'm currently awaiting TDIU decision from 70%! I've call the 800 number and my claim is still at the rating board awaiting a decision as of March 5th. I'm confused as to why I am having an home assessment now since I'm only at 70%? After this assessment, will it help my case for TDIU. The rep said that it won't affect my case at the rating board at this time but it will in the future. The last thing I want is to have my case pulled from the rating board....if you understand what I'm saying! Please help! I'm a very new member (long time reader thou) and would appreciate…

Voc Rehab Pay
Hi all. I started voc rehab this past January. Got my first allowance check in mid feb for threehundred and some change. I have two dependents, my wife and a baby. I started school on Jan 19,2010. Why did I get paid only $3 hundred and some... I thougt I was going to get $800. Is that because I didn't attend the hole month because classes started on the 19th? I was thinking it was suposed to be a fix rate no matter what. Does that means the same thing s going to happen on spring break when I get a week of? Or at the end of the semmester when I only will attend about half of month? Can anyone help?

San Diego Drug Rehab Testimonial
Hi Readers, I want to share my experience here & I Hope my message would give some confidence to the people who are addicted to drugs. I fell into alcohol and marijuana in my early teens. As a result of constant fighting with my parents, I moved to San diego. This is when I got into Crystal Meth. I had an apartment, car, friends and money, but within five months I lost it all. In my despair my cousins intervened and took me to A Better Tomorrow a well established san diego drug rehab. For the first three weeks I threatened to leave everyday, but the counselors and staff told me to stay. For once I listened. After the fog lifted from years of abuse, I came to grips …

Changing Schools
I'm using Voc-Rehab to get my Bachelors Degree. I am in online classes with a local University, but when they said online classes I thought it was just that---ONLINE. But, now that classes have began, I see that we also have to meet once weekly at 6pm by webcam and have class for 2 hours. I don't remember them mentioning that in orientation or else I would have dropped then. The reason that I chose online classes were because traditional classes were not working with my work schedule of 24 hours on duty and 48 hours off duty as a firefighter. Twice already while in class on the webcam at work the alarm has went off and I had to leave. I'm fearful that if this continue…

Clothing Allowance Via Independfant Living Services
Hey y'all Just thought I would let you know that a friend of mine just got approved for a Clothing Allowance after 6 years of denial. Apparently if you approach this issue via Voc Rehab Independent living services it gets approved straight away....Well it did for my friend. He lost a toe due to a stray bullet in Vietnam, this made his shoes wear out really quickly, and his weight fluctuates because of his DMII and meds. The VA rep explained that when it's done through Voc Rehab, the Voc Rehab person is the one that approves it due to need because of the special approval process for voc rehab and the laws that govern it in regards to quality of life of the vetera…
