tdiu Voc Rehab And Tdiu?
Just wanted to know if anyone has any insight on this. I have been approved for Voc Rehab due to a serious employment handicap. My original Temp 100% claim is almost done. My VSO wants to get TDIU for me. Can you get TDIU and Voc Rehab? If so does one offset the other?

tdiu Help, I Can't Get Any Real Answers About Vr&e Answers From Vro Rep.
Hello everyone. I'm new to hadit.com and by luck stumbled upon this forum, but haven't been able to find the answers here on hadit.com to the questions about VR&E that I've been trying to get answered by reps from my local VRO. The V.A. reps just keep telling me that the answers to my questions are "above their pay grade." :D Let me explain my situation and if anyone has good advice, I'm very open to anything that will help me at this point. I was discharged from the Army several years back and given a combined 70% rating from the V.A. 70% mental and 10% knee problems. It just so happens that V.A. math makes 70+10=70. Anyway...that's not what I have question…

Further Training With Ch 31
Voc rehab helped me out and I finished my degree, which in the current economic situation in our country, doesn't mean nearly as much as it did 3 years ago when I started. I haven't been able to find anying in my degree field but I did get a job offer if I get a additional training which is about $10,000-15,000 I have over 25 months of training left and I have been dealing with voc rehab to get the 2 month of training that will get me at least one of the jobs. The career councilor keeps going back to old injuries in my record to say I can't do the job. However, the medical problems they keep pointing at are things that were proven to be 100% now but it's still an issue.…

Voc Rehab Benefits
Does anyone know if vocrehab benefits are reportablein at the state level? I know they are exempt from taxes and can't be counted as income for other purposes, like loan consideration, but I am not sure about other things. The Dept of Health in NC is trying to tell me they are, but I don't think so.

Vorehab
I am 100p/t and receiving ssdi, been out of work for about 18 months. Am I dreaming to think maybe I could handle taking some college courses to actually feel like I have a purpose? I must admit that I feel a bit of anxiety coming on just thinking of it. But I would like to try. One of my SC disabilities is MDD. Jmack

ptsd News About Vocational Rehab (chapter 31)

Veterans Rehabilitation and Training Improvements Act of 2009
March 3, 2009 Congressional Record Statement of Senator Daniel K. Akaka Mr. President, I am introducing today the proposed "Veterans Rehabilitation and Training Improvements Act of 2009." 56 Months Extension
I heard and read about several cases when the so called entitlement period of 48 have been extended to 56 months. I had read about 10% SC Veterans who used 56 months of entitlements. Since I am running out of entitlements it is certainly something that I could use myself in order to try to finish my coursework. Funny enough one of the main obstacle to finish the school through that program (chap 31) is the minimum and minute substandard living allowance, which now is going to have a substantial increase in order to keep some equity with the GI Bill allowance; difficult to understand why so many have to fail for the VA to realize that such a low allowance is one of main hi…

Back To College
I joined the Navy in 1981 & got out in 1987. VEAP (veterans educational assistance program) was offered at the time. This was between the old GI bill & the new GI bill.Financially, it was a bad deal for the vet. You paid $2,700.00 into a fund & after you got out of the service & went to college later, you would recieve a total of $8,100.00 total for your college expenses. Full time students would recieve $300.00 per month, part time got $150.00 per month. I went part time & $150.00 per month didn't go very far. I went to college sporadically over the years, but got good grades. I was "volun…

tdiu Voc Rehab And Dro Hearing Question.
I sent an Iris today asking this and I'm wondering if anyone has input. I had a DRO hearing in Buffalo almost 3 months ago (Dec.17th 2008) and have heard nothing at all other than "we are waiting for the transcript of the hearing" which I got via Iris 2-3 weeks ago). About Feb 23rd I filed online for Voc. Rehab. I got an email informing me that my application was received and to "stand by" for more when VA Buffalo contacts me. I sent an Iris today asking if: 1) There was any progress on my DRO appeal as I had received nothing from VA about it. (I didn't mention the previous Iris about the transcript). 2) Will the appeal (DRO) and the Voc Rehab application be …

Voc-rehab In Miami Is Lost!
I went to voc-rehab interview probably six months ago. A couple mos, pass and I get a call from my counseler. When he called I was driving and I did not here or understand 99% of what he was saying, except that I qualify for voc- rehab. So, I figured I would be getting something in the mail to sign or whatever. A month or so later, still nothing, I call the counsler and he said he was working on the nexus letter. Well I havent heard anything back from him since. What a joke. Mind you, I dont really want it anyways. But for someone who really wanted it or needed it, WTF. Three days ago I get a letter from them sayin they moved there office from downtown Ft Lauderdale to Su…

What Will The Va Do?
I am a chapter 31 doing school and I have to come up with the housing for my next step in my process. I can not do the heavy construction anymore so I have been looking for something easier on my shoulders. The VA had an announcment for a job opening on my local VA medical center site. I applied for it using my 10 point preference and I think I have a good chance of getting it. Great .... its just a painters position.... But what will happen when the VA figures out I am doing a full time position. Will I lose my chapter 31 payments .? ? anyone know or will I have to post the answer when I find out......? Thanks.........Macool
