  1. It's ok to vent, we're here to listen.....Here's hoping for some good news. I stopped by my local (20 miles away) Va outpatient clinic to get travel pay yesterday and hardly any vehicles in the parking lot. A lot of Va employees took off for spring break. I would think that it would and or could affect the claims side too. I too, am anxiously awaiting.....
  2. Just look at it this way.....it is making Some progress and that is a good sign.Which Ro and when did you file? I know how you feel though, as my claim has been in the decision phase 3 months today. Hang in there.
  3. If the exam was done by at the va, you can get it through Release of Records. If the C&P was done by QTC you have to get it at the VARO. I've only had two QTC exams, but had to sign for them. If they are not in the computer yet, they will mail them to you. Either or,,,,,I believe it always requires a signature and I presented my ID. Also my last QTC exam was Nov1, 2011. Va didn't receive it until Dec. 5, 2011. Receipt was on ebenefits.
  4. Are you being treated for this now? Sorry but I haven't been following your posts that closely. Check your pm.
  5. I got a copy of my first Qtc C&P exam at the regional office shortly after the exam since I was there for TRP program twice a week in Houston. Until thursday, I haven't been down there since November. A 116 mile commute one way. I went to Varo front desk and she printed copy of my Qtc C&P exam right then.
  6. I'll hit the high points from this exam... The PTSD symptoms described above cause clinically significant distress or impairment in social, occupational, or other important areas of functioning. Stressor #1 contributed to PTSD. ~~And then under remarks section~~~ She is capable of managing benefit payments in her own best interest. There is occupational and social impairment with reduced reliability and productivity. ~~~And now to the end of the exam report and probably to this veteran the most important statement~~ OPINION: The Va has asked the question "PLEASE STATE IF THE VETERANS DEPRESSION AT LEAST AS LIKELY AS NOT (50 PERCENT OR GREATER PROBABILITY) INCURRED IN OR CAUSED BY DEPRESSION THAT OCCURRED DURING SERVICE FROM 7/22/74 TO 5/14/80. In response, all medical records were reviewed. In service consultation dated ~~~~etc~~Based on medical records reviewed and current examination, Ms. Veteran's depression is at least likely as not caused by the incident (i.e., the sexual assault)
  7. First of all, I hope you're feeling better. "Ro" means reoccurring. I had my C&P for Ptsd/Mst and MDD on Nov 1, 2011. I got a copy on thursday. Here's my diagnoses: For the claimant's claimed condition of POSTRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER DUE TO MILITARY SEXUAL TRAUMA For the claimant's claimed condition of DEPRESSION The Axis I diagnosis is Major Depressive Disorder, Severe without Psychotic Features (ICD 296.33) The Axis I diagnosis is: Generalized Anxiety Disorder (ICD 300.02) When questioned about her anxiety, she noted it will be present across a variety of environments with an intensification in social environments. The Axis I diagnoses is Panic Disorder without Agoraphobia (ICD 300.01) The Axis II diagoses is: Alcohol Abuse, In Sustained Full Remission (305.00) Axis III: See Medical Records (e.g. hypertention, back problems, neck problems) ICD: n/a) Axis IV: Problems with Primary Support Group (e.g. long term mental and physical illnesses) Axis V: 50 (i.e., current)
  8. The 1st one I had done as an outpatient procedure at an outside gastroenterologist and was put to sleep. The Va does NOT put you to sleep. They don't in Houston. They administer an IV with versed to relax you. At one point it was a little uncomfortable, I let them know and they increased the dosage. Just enough versed to take the edge off the situation. The Va goes "overkill" on the prep where you drink the the golytly etc. I'll put it this way, the Va wants you "clean as a plumbers pipe" Also, if you have a long commute to the Va they will set you courtesy quarters the night before. The other drug in the IV makes you forget most of the procedure but I could see the procedure on the monitor. Also I had to start prep two days before the procedure. Really the worst part of my procedure was before it started, when I walked in and the doctor had a bright red turban on!
  9. Carlie, Dot09...You provided a lot of good information.Thanks
  10. I went down to Houston today for a scheduled appt. with the pulmonologist. Prior to this, I went a few blocks down to the Varo to see the Dav vso and I also got a copy of my C&P for PTSD and MDD. Question.......What are the key items .. Gaf etc that would "make or break" this C&P exam?
  11. Congratulations to you! Yes they do service connect scars often times 0%, but still rated. Too bad the Va doesn't pay interest on your overpayment. But Good news anyhow! Hopefully the "cue" expert will jump in shortly.
  12. They called me in October. At first I thought it was a friend of mine playing a trick on me. Lol.. They finally convinced me they were legit and I answered a few questions. Seemed like a big PR stunt by the VA.
  13. Try clearing cache and deleting cookies....it has worked for me in the past by doing this.
  14. Gary, Click on gdsnide on your thread. It will take you to your profile then click on Edit Profile. It will have a list of options. Click on email. I hope this helps.
  15. Woo Hoo!!!! I called my Vso today and AGAIN she confirmed what Vso in Houston said " Claim will be finished at the end of this month" Yes, March 2012. Hmmm.....They must Know someone ...after all Vso's in the same bldg as Raters!
  16. Check the letter generator(Va documents) on ebenefits and keep checking your bank account as I've seen posted here where people have gotten $$ before the big envelope. I would guess any day now for $$ and within 10 days for envelope. Jmo
  17. you'll be ok aggie54 just hang in there....
  18. I am just glad my claim has made it this far. A friend of mine filed her claim with a Dav vso in Memphis in June and hasn't heard anything. She called "Peggy" and they have "no record" of her claim...
  19. C&P on July 6, 2011 and C&P on November 1, 2011. I filed on Jan 23, 2011. Thank you Pete.
  20. I spoke with the local Dav yesterday and she called down to the Dav Nso in Houston regarding the status of my claim. I was told that the latest update was on March 1 my claim file was in the rater's hands. I called the 800# and finally after a little "prodding" he told me that yes, the same rater signed for my file in Feb also. Also Vso last month told me my claims file went to a second rater on Jan 25. My Vso said give it 30 days or until end of Mar. Any thoughts on this? Thnx
  21. While I appreciate a robust debate in a free society, this is beyond silly and not worth carrying on further. But, I will add with all the hype they touted .....and come up short at the BIG dance. As for "peggy" you can find out who she is in T'bird's blog in the last of the forums. Btw, this discussion should be in Social Chat ,,,,,
