I am really glad for you! Looks like your extra effort paid off. ENJOY!!! I agree with you that after your Congressman got involved things moved VERY quickly....
I tried Power Net Global after seeing their ad on the back of my DAV magazine. The caption reads "Membership Has Its Benefits". First they assigned me a tel# that was a long distance number to anyone local trying to call me. It was a number out of Crockett which is 45 miles from me. Then it took 3 days to get service. Terrible service especially for rural areas. To sum it up..... The huge headache wasn't worth the small discount.
This is my initial claim. According to Va, Houston is the most backlogged VARO in the nation. Fourth largest city in the US and the VAMC serves over 99 counties so they have a gazillion claims. I have hardship paperwork in, but all a person can do is hope and pray. The ball is in THEIR court.
Hello AFMedic09, In answer to your question in Success stories, my claim is still in prep for decisision (has been since Dec 14, 2011). They tell you 54 day avg in that phase for Houston. Lol.... May 14, 2012 will be 5 months in that phase. Oh, well......
With my initial claim my vso (who is in Albuqueque, NM now) advised me to file for Tdiu because she felt I had a strong claim. And also it will preserve my earliest effective date.
I agree with Phillip. Go ahead and pay it because the Va will garnish your income tax refund, ssdi payment etc. And remember..... the Va is like an elephant ,,,, when money is owed them ,,,, they NEVER forget.
As a note, for my healthevet sign on, I viewed the video at home on the website, printed and filled out the form and took it to my outpatient clinic for authentication. You can also view the video at one of the kiosk located at the VAMC and outpatient clinics. My outpatient clinic just recently got the kiosk, but they've been at the VAMC for several months.
Sounds positive to me, but the real answers lie in the award letter. What is ebenefits saying now? And can you download documents. Ebenefits isn't always up to date though. The mail will bring good news!
I know what you mean about the agony of waiting. I wish that I had filed this 30 plus years ago when I was much younger and carefree and my nerves could handle it. If hindsights 20/20, then I must be going blind. (Borrowed from a country song) Lol
An inquiry was sent through the 1800# on Mar 12 and followed up on April 10 with no response from Houston. So today one was sent with the heading "Hardship". All 3 request response by email. It will be 5 months in Decision Phase on May 14.
