  1. Congrats to your wife! And Good Luck to you...
  2. Agree> Very helpful information ..... Btw .... Like the profile pic Lol
  3. Papa, Here's sending Good Luck to you for your exam tomorrow! Cavtrooper
  4. @Medic and everyone else that gave me encouragement and hope when I thought there was none.... And to all others still in the process, Never Give Up! I am living proof that no matter the span of time (for me 38 years ago I enlisted in what was Womens Army Corps). I didn't enroll in Va until two and a half years ago. Please don't wait as long as I did to use your earned benefits. Here's wishing all of y'all Good Luck! BTW I filed for Tdiu "from the git go". because I thought that I had a strong enough claim and to preserve my earliest effective date if awarded.
  5. I would think not also, but then again we're dealing with the VA. Please don't take my opinion as gospel. My claim was in preparaion for decision for 5 months and did not go back. But mine got caught in "malfunction junction." > Houston Varo and the last influx of the Nehmer claims. Good Luck to You!
  6. I meant to add that the only contention denied was Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) The DAV had submitted this after discovering in my SMR that I was in a motorcycle accident in 1980. I lived off-post, was caught in a surprise rainstorm and laid it down in a bad curve.
  7. It appears you're right on this Philip. According to award letter they calculated from Feb 2011 and then added cola beginning Dec.~~10 mo. x $ 1427=$14,270 ~~ 6 mo. x $ 1478=$ 8,868 Total $23,138
  8. Rating coach told my vso that I should get my regular monthly payment on June 1st (today) but it didn'thappen, only my retro was deposited. Does that mean I get both May and June on July 1st?
  9. @Carlie, Yes, this was my original claim. Thank you everyone for the responses and all the good info on this site.
  10. @demeat.... I filed on Jan 23, 2011. C/P exam for shoulder on July 6, 2011 and C/P exam for Ptsd and Major Depressive Disorder on Nov 1, 2011. Both Qtc exams. Claim went to prep for decision on Dec 14, 2011. I called for "reinforcements" out of Washington D.C. on May 14, 2012. Then on May 16, 2012 my claim went to pending decision approval. It went to preparation for notification on May 22, 2012. And on May 29, 2012 was mailed out from Houston Varo.
  11. Today the Brown Envelope arrived.... I found out the particulars on May 22 while in Houston. The official award is as follows: Ptsd ................. 70% Right Shoulder ...20% The following are deferred pending C&P exams: Cervical Spine Back Condition Headaches Individual Unemployability I am happy to go from nothing to 80% and they aren't through yet! I'm keeping my fingers crossed! I called my bank this afternoon and my 5-digit retro is posting tonight and available tomorrow.
  12. Congrats! Don't forget to change your %.
  13. After being in "preparation for notification" for 4 days my claim this afternoon ..... like so many others have done... went to "review of evidence." It's in the home stretch now!
  14. You've got to be kidding me... It looks as they are working on your claim but it seems like "the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing. They must have posted that before the system went under maintenance on friday night.
  15. Thnx Cmdr. Bob! On the subject of moving claims around, I did find out last week while at Houston Dav that my claim had been moved to San Antonio several months ago to expedite. It moved to Notification on May 22 and it didn't get finished by the holiday. I already found out the results while down in Houston.
  16. Thanks y'all for all the helpful info on what to expect etc. What I am wondering though is if I'm dx with SA, what correlation or affect will it have on my asthma and allergies. I wake up every morning with dry and stuffy nose. I didn't have allergies until I some years back. I am now sensitive to just about everything, from household cleaning items to the little ole grannies walking around with strong perfume.
  17. Thanks for the replies. I went to the Neurologist for migraine treatment and the doc wants to rule out Sleep Apnea as the cause. He also questioned my cervical spine as the cause.
  18. Yesterday my neurologist said he is scheduling me to get checked for Sleep Apnea. Could someone please tell md what takes place during this exam.
  19. Coot, I got "unofficial"award info..... waiting on big envelope.
  20. John, I applied for Ssd when I quit working in Oct 2010 and was awarded in 4 months. As far as IU, when I was at the Dav in Houston yesterday, my vso went upstairs to talk to rating coach and she told him they would send me for an IMO for IU.
  21. According to "Peggy" my claim is "Complete" although it still shows preparation for notification on ebenefits.
  22. Thnx, Justrluck. I was down in Houston yesterday for Neurology appt and visited Dav prior. I posted under "Washington D.C. Is Helping" my rating.
