  1. Thanks Larry, I really appreciate your wealth of knowledge in these matters. People like you some other good dudes on this site make the journey easier. Bill
  2. Larry, I understand what you are saying about the 80%(AO related amd PTSD). I go to the VA for a physical once a year and get the free meds from them. I have never seen anyone for my heart issues at the VA and I have never been refered to one. I have to get this procedure done ASAP and my Dr. said I should do it now. I don't think I would get a heart appointment at the VA in a week or so unless I showed up on a stretcher at their ER. Anyway, I got to get in done sooner than later. Bill
  3. I have a similar question. My claim was denied in 6/10 for CAD and was reopened again in Oct of 10. When I finally become SC for IHD will the VA pay my deductables for my angioplasty that is scheduled next week. I can't wait on the VA because I don't want to have a heart attack. Bill
  4. If it was hard you wouldn't need an exam. :)
  5. DW, I know from past experience that we would always win an appeal for unemployment when the employee committed wilful misconduct. I have also seen an employee save their job by going into rehab. Bill
  6. Pete I went into facebook and entered Pete53 and I got Pete Off bill
  7. Welcome home, I don't think so. When you read the obits in the paper it may say that Mr. Jones has been called home to be with his Father. That's the only welcome home we need because we have seen what hell is like. Bill
  8. Skunk, You need a blockage and a surgical procedure would help. Bill
  9. skunk, You can pronounce it MONEY for some or Hope for others. Bill
  10. They don't need 60 year old's anymore.
  11. vperl, I'm happy for the young guys and I hope they have long lives unlike the 2.5 million Nam vets with boots on the ground. Now 850,000 and counting down. We are a dying breed. Bill
  12. N4XV I don't feel the outcome for IHD will be that generous Bill
  13. I think that the important thing is to get SC for IHD for your spouse to get something when you kick it. I am diabetic and I think I read somewhere that 2/3's of all diabetics die from heart disease. Bill
  14. John, My mother is from Galway and my father is from Lietrim, where we lived till I was five. We came by the ocean liner Mauritania to NY. I have gone back twice in the last five years. I still have aunts and cousins there. I looked on line and you could fly for under 600 in April. If you book in advance you can get good deals on some tour flights that have room left over. Flight time about 7 hours. Left NY at 6 pm and arrived in Dublin at 6 am because of the time diff. First day is screwed up because your half asleep all day. I stayed on the family farm for two weeks once, thought it would fun, but by day 4 I wanted to go AWOL. It was a mile into town and i would walk in to the pub every day. Bill Bill
  15. The only problem that I see is that I want to visit my family in Ireland for two weeks and I have to schedule my trip around the time I receive my meds. The scripts don't run out at the same time so I have to use an outside drugstore for some of them. Bill
  16. I think that the Post Office is following me. Everywhere I go I see those mail trucks and letter carriers. I saw 6 of them today at Duncan Donuts when I got my coffee. Bill
  17. I have been getting gout for over 15 years. I don't take meds for them anymore because I found something that really helps. When I feel my big toe tingling I drink a quart of black cherry juice, not the cheap stuff but the one that costs about $6.00. It works the same as the meds and after you get off the toilet for around the 5th time the gout is gone. I don't think high uric acid is SC. Bill
  18. Thanks kid, us oldtimers hope we are still around when these issues are settled. Bill
  19. As an old timer the only women I ever say in Nam were nurses that were Officers at the hospital in Da Nang. I didn't have a contact with service women because I was a grunt. I did work for uncle sam for 37 years as a civilian and 22 years in a management position. I do know that telling a female in the workplace that you want to sleep with her and that she has a nice ass is sexual harassment . Bill
  20. I'm a little confused by this post but maybe I'm just old and stupid. Aren't sexual harassment and sexual assault two different issues., People go to jail for sexual assault. People are fired from thier jobs and are sued in civil court for sexual harassment. JMHO Bill
  21. Spent, I was a manager in the PO for a long time and I got out last year because I couldn't do it any longer. I had a lot of vets that worked for me that used the VA as their primary doctors. I never questioned them on their appointments and I would offer them an FMLA packet that would cover all their sick leave usage. You can put in FMLA for any bullshit ailment but the mental issues get a little complicated because if you put down stress, they may want you to get clearance from your doctor to return to work. You should simply tell that jerk off boss of yours that you are a disabled vet and thats it. Your medical information is none of his business. Keep your future plans to yourself and when its time to go just walk out the door. It take about 2 months to process all your retirement paperwork. Good luck BILL
