Tbi Rating Erased Due To Pyramiding?
Hi everyone. I was awarded 40%.TBI back in 2009. I put in for depression at the behest of my physician and was just awarded 70% It would have brought my total points to 95 so I was really happy until I read the rest of the decision. Essentially, they cited "pyramiding" and erased my TBI, which really screwed me. Does this sound right? I thought that rule was for multiple MH contentions that overlapped, but how do they site pyramiding for a physical injury with an MH? Do I fight this or is this a normal thing?

What Do I Do
When I was deployed, I had a humvee accident, that led me to falling off and hitting my head on the ice ground. I never told anyone about this incident because my seargent asked me not to, so its not in my medical records. Ever since then, I've been acting wildly, and i was kicked out for abusing drugs. General discharge under honorable conditions Within a year of leaving the army, i had a seizure and developed psychosis. I was treated for the psychosis at the VA, but didn't realize I had a seizure then until a few months ago. I found my medical records for my seizure, and even contacted a a fellow soldier who witnessed the humvee accident Can i stil…

ptsd Tbi & Brain Thrombosis
I'm currently rated at 80% for multiple issues (TBI, PTSD, Tinnitus, etc). I was awarded around January 2014 and then an Admin Review was finished on EBenefits about a month later. Immediately, another claim opened that said Predetermination that same day. I've been trying to find out for the longest time what it was for. Today, I finally got ahold of someone that told me it was for Brain Thrombosis - it's confusing because on Ebenefits it says it's in the Gathering Evidence stage but it also says the Decision Notification has been sent. Not sure what to make of that, but it just changed to that within the last week. So, what is the criteria for Brain Thrombos…

Tbi Or Not. How Do You, Or The Va, Tell?
Hi everyone, I have a question that has been bothering me for awhile. Do I have a TBI? I have damage to my brain. I have documented structural damage, encephalopathy, and cognitive dysfunction. That is a fact. It is evident in MRIs, EEGs and neuropsych testing (from DoD, VA and IMEs) all show it definitively. The problem is that the definition of TBI seems...squishy, to say the least. According to CFR 38 I have all the dysfunctions of TBI. But I don't have a VA/DoD document that says TBI. I was not in a blast. I did not hit my head. I was not punched, hit, or shaken. I had swelling in the brain (an external force?) from excess water in the…

After More Then 20 Years
After more then 20 years my new neurologist feels I may have had some type of TBI instead of a concussion. I remember falling and hitting my head and having problems with vertigo ever since and memory, focus and concentration problems but I never thought of it as being a TBI. Now they are going to look at my brain and tell me I am officially crazy.

ptsd Bad Jump
My Social Worker says I may have TBI. I went for an eye exam a few years ago and the doc says I was partially blind in one eye and it had to be caused by physical traumma. I had one bad jump at Ft Bragg where a guy got tangled up in my lines and his boot hit me in the face. No way to service connect this but can I still get treatment for this without SC? I'm already 100% PTSD.

Possible Tbi From 1985 Blast - What Should I Do?
Folks: Recently, I submitted my VA claim but did not claim TBI but I think I should have? I was injured and an Anti-Tank Ditch Accident (!984) and a Tank Main Gun Round Explosion in 1985. In regards to the explosion, we had an M60 Tank Main Gun Round Misfire and I was about 5 feet from the main gun blast when it went off. The mainteance crew was supposed to have already pulled the firing pin when an inexperienced maintanance tech fired the tank accidently? As a result, It blew out my right ear hearing and gave me a concussion. The blast also blew me off my feet ad I landed on my head and right shoulder. So, I had a lot of physical injuries and they are part of the cla…

Secondary Scam!
My MH claim just completed. I. Needed a 70% rating to get 100% schedular. I got the 70%, but they erased my established 40% TBI rating. (Listed it as part of the MA contention) I thought MH issues where rated separately. Be warned! These guys are slick.

Parkinsons
Recently diagnosed with Parkinson's and I am trying to link it back to a TBI I received back in 1986. Looking at the medical records it is going to be hard to justify a moderate TBI from them. Would witness statements help? I have never filed a claim before and I met with the DAV VSO this morning who gave me a list of records and information that he needs to file. Any tips on what I should be doing to get my TBI rated at moderate and the Parkinson's linked to it?

Bunch Of Rare Symptoms, No Diagnosis?
As it stands, I am 80% SC for: Anxiety-50% IBS-30% Tinnitus-10% DDD-10% OSA-Still fighting it Urinary Incontinence- Still fighting it Now this is where I am not sure how to proceed with my current issues. I have had blurry vision since being active duty (documented in service). I recently had a VA optometry appointment and at the end of the exam she asked me when I had a TBI? I said I hit hard when doing jumps (82nd Airborne Division) and I was awarded a Combat Action Bade for being so close to multiple rocket/mortar explosions (less than 20 meters). I was never knocked unconscious, but I did get stars on some on my jumps and I felt the blasts on my …
