Well I spent about 6 hrs at the VA Urgent Care/ER today. That was no fun. I got there and was in extreme pain...I thought they would see me in the ER. Nope. They sent me to Urgent Care to wait! OMG. I saw a doc in Urgent Care and he ordered blood tests and a CT scan. I couldn't walk. So they call for a wheelchair. Go do the lab thing, no problem. Go to CT. Here's where the fun begins. I get handed a large cup of clear liquid and am told to drink it all, then after drinking that they have to wait 2 hrs to do the scan. What?? I'm doubled over in pain. Oh and this "liquid"....is some nasty crap. So I finish the liquid. Thinking I'm done. Oh hell no. I ge…

I visited my new MH Doctor today, as I have moved from Florida to Alabama. As we were reviewing my Meds, she told me before she can re-issue them, I must cancel my old meds, so they won't be duplicated. Any ideas on how this is done? Must I call the West Palm VA to do this?

I would like to ask this question to someone who has a VA prescribed hearing aid and not sc'd for hearing loss yet or someone who is acquainted with the charge procedure in this instance. Is the vet charged for a VA hearing aid when prescribed by the VA not being sc'd for a hearing loss yet but sc'd for other conditions? 50% sc'd

At age 60 I have been diagnosed with adult ADHD. The VA psychologist says they do not recognize this only in children. I am suppose to have a psychological evalution from the Psychologist and she asked me if I could read and I said yes. She asked me some questions to determine which type of questions to give me. I have been waiting now for a month for them to set this up. I cannot cope day to day so go to a private psychiatrist and take a variety of meds because I cannot just wait for the VA to decide when they want to see me. The VA says they cannot treat me if I go to a private doctor. I understand but who can wait a month to get stable. I take closepam for me nerves an…

Hi everyone, I'm 100% perm/total, housebound, with PTSD and HCV (bad blood transfusion in the Army) - and, I have a couple of nasty autoimmune conditions that keep flaring up. I actually live closer to my current clinic in the wrong VISN and use a VAMC that's closer too. Unfortunately, I cannot receive travel reimbursement and I cannot receive any ancillary services prescribed by my current PCP in the wrong VISN. I believe I live in a Bermuda triangle. Now....here's an option: drive 170 miles to my correct VISN to see a PCP and receive all the benefits for which I'm entitled: home health, travel pay, telemedicine, etc. My current PCP is 85 miles from the house…

Does anyone have trouble getting their meds renewed when they get to their snowbird destinations? I have done the temporary address change with the US Postal System. However certain of my meds come by Fed Express or other and I can't give them a change of address. I call VA and advise them to send the meds at my snowbird address and get every line of BS from we can't do this, we'll do it once, and that I need to be seen by a VA at my snowbird address. For each med I received before I left home, I filled in the address change and checked temporary and gave a return date. Anyone else have a solution?

Some of you may know about this, but this information is very important. This is probably the most prescribed beta blocker on the market.
