My Recovery From Surgery
Tomorrow marks one week since my angioplasty and already I see miracels. I have more energy and optimism. Also my heart beat at rest is now less than 80 and as low as 60. BP is also better looks like heart was working very hard for a long time. My intuition told me that over 100 all the time was not right. It also seems a lot easier to breath but I don't have an explanation for that.

ptsd Iu/ptsd
As some of you know I was awarded 50% disability last week for SC chronic 48/gaf PTSD . Was denied anything for 2 PH and Stage 4 tonsil cancer AO. You advised me to file IU form with NOD on PTSD. I have an appointment with doctor tomorrow. Do you absolutely have to have a doctor`s letter stating you are unemployable or can you ever win filing NOD for IU showing you haven`t worked in over 2 years and claiming PTSD is the reason? I`m anxious to get this NOD sent in and it might take weeks with this doctor for him to write me the letter. I was also advised to file for Tinnitus which I have done along with Gerd/Barretts esophagus and insomnia. Nam combat vet 56 years old. …

Tbi Again
While in the service I slipped and fell on my back and head. On Sept. 21, 2004 the VA Hospital Fresno did a cat scan on the back of my head. Their findings; Report: Routine serial images were obtained and no IV contrast was given prior to the study. No previous exam is here for comparison. There is no shift of midline. No intra or extraventricular hemorrhages are identified. Small low attenuation density seen in left basal ganglion in left periventricular area probably represents old infarct. No hydrocephalus is seen. There is mild prominence of cortical sulci suggestive of mild cortical atrophy. Impression: 1. No hemorrhages are seen. 2. Small low attenua…

hypertension Am I In For A Long Wait ?
Hi All ; just wondering if I'm in for a LONG wait , as I filed my initial sc claim for PTSD in June of this year - On 31- July '2006 - the VA sent me the VCAA forms and I had my American Legion VSO help me with them and sent in my stress letter as well - should I wait six months - or longer - to contact them if I haven't recoieved an appt for a C&P (or a Denial??) . The disabilities I listed are PTSD (my GAF is currently 45) ; also Type 2 diabetes ; emphysema and hypertension - also on my MSR it is documented that I complained of thoughts of suicide (due to a friends death) ; loss of sleep ; coughing up blood , high blood pressur , etc...YET...at NO TIME did the …

Well, Guess What?
I called my county service officer today regarding filing a DIC claim in regards to my husband and AO. First off, she didn't think I could draw both the 100% I am getting now AND DIC. I asked her why, I am a widow now. So, this may be another cruve the va might throw at me. The concept of women actually being vets, not to mention being married to a fellow vet is still a vague & foreign concept to Arkies. However, she had heard of the Haas ruling & thinks the law will be rewritten very soon. That would be a shame for blue water sailors who served off the coast of Vietnam. Liz

Expedited Claims
Does anyone know if in fact VA offices actually honor expedited claims because of a veteran's age or do they continue to string them along as they normally do other backlogged claims? Also, if you do know of an instance of an expedite claim, approximately how long should it take with the current backlog of claims across the country?

tdiu Va Holding Me Employable From Marginal Job?
I have been researching the law on extra-schedular ratings 100% TDIU for my claim that was denied. I see that according to 38 CFR 4.16 (a), veterans awarded 100% TDIU can only earn up to the MAPR (Maximum Annual Pension Rate) which was $846 in 2005, or $10,152. and still be eligable to receive their 100% TDIU monthly VA compensation check. The VA is (trying) to holdi me employable due to a marginal part time job. Anyone else been held employable due to a marginal job that was below the poverty level, and MAPC level? I am trying to find out if they can do that. I never made over $375 per month, or $4500 in any year from this piss poor job! Boondoc
