ptsd Va Review Of Ptsd Cases Update (10/3/05)
I'm not sure how widely dispersed this piece of information is, so I will post it here and please forgive me if it has already been posted and read. This comes from the web site military.com and their weekly update on all military issues, including Veteran's concerns. Anyway, there has been an amendment raised in the Senate to block the VA from reviewing 100% disabled PTSD vets as they are now planning. Here is the exact language I copied from their web site. I have no further information to add. Jeff Persian Gulf and Pentagon 9-11 Survivor 100% SC PTSD "Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) joined with fellow Democrats Richard Durbin ( Ill. ), Patty Murray ( Wash. ) and D…

diabetes Medical Question
I have a vet with diabetes mellitus and apparent renal disease which I believe is a secondary complication of his DMII. I have done some research and found an Article at NCBI web site (Entrez Pub Med) that shows the relationship of diabetes mellitus in 150 DM patients to their abnormal r4nal pathology to include 19 % of them had developed renal cysts. The above vet has been diagnosed with renal cysts. The article however is titled " Renal Lesions in elderly patients with diabetes mellitus" 75 % were found to have renal parenchymal damage (diabetic neuropathy) , 16 had chronic renal failure and pyelonephritis, and urolithiasis was found in 21 % and 14 % respect…

Varo Asistance In Getting An Exam,
I know how the VA likes to deny the Veteran access to C&P that would more likely help them prove SC. Can a Veteran request and get Help from the VARO for such an exam as part of their duty to assist? Can a Veteran seek an opinion of nexus from a private source, (IMO) and have the VA/VARO pay for such an opinion, since the Veteran has been unable to get an opinion of nexus, from the VAMC for what the Veteran is seeking SC for? Or can you submit a claim and prevail, to have the VARO pay for an opposing opinion of nexus, on the grounds of financial poverty? Maybe it's worth a try, since those at the VAMC are reluctant to search for the cause of my current psych…

Priority Medical Care
I am s/c at 10% awaiting DRO decision for 100%. My question is how does the ratings affect medical care by specialist? I thought I was entitled to care at the VA for my s/c condition but when the Dr. I saw at the VA sent in the referral for Neurology it was sent back because they were busy and I was not a priority unless I was at least 50%. So I had to use my medicare to see the same doc at another hospital. My 10% condtions covers muitliple body parts/functions. Do I need to fight to have a code for each body part? There is no VA code for the condtion so my SO and VA doc requested that they use one for Lupus or Leukemia and rate is as 100%. It is currently at "th…

Bva
Does anyone know if there is anyplace a person can find old cases that have been decided by the BVA 33 years ago. The reason I ask, i found the front page with docket number, but nothing else from one of my cases from July, 1972. I lost, but would like to see their resoning, as i never did get to read about it, just a letter I received, denying my claims. I see my post from yesterday, must of got deleted, as it isn't on the Claim forum page.

ptsd C&p's
Comrades, I am service connected already for PTSD and FMS, [Fibromyalgia]. I showed-up for my Fibromyalgia C&P examination early. I got in early. The examiner has not the slightest idea of what to do. I'm just going to wait and see what he writes. My CAT scan was canceled in favor of an MRI that will take place later this month. My C&P for PTSD. I got to the mental health building early. The C&P was not scheduled to be held there. I asked for a map. Didn't get one. I was handed an address on a stickup note. I drove around in a strange city looking for an address 'and for the building' that the exam was supposed to take place in for a perio…

Respiratory Toxicants
Respiratory Toxicants Exposure to chemical substances can cause adverse effects on the respiratory system, which consists of the nasal passages, pharynx, trachea, bronchi, and lungs.
