ptsd C&p Exam Finally Pops Up
envelope came in mail saturday saying i had my first-ever c&p follow-up scheduled for 1 feb 10 to my award a year or two ago of 100 percent temporary, total disability from anxiety/depression. i was pretty surprised at the immediacy, although in the back of my mind i figured it was coming, and had a panic attack of sorts at the idea of feeling that i have to defend my benefits on short notice. i may or not have gotten better, likely just became more apathetic about life in general. this officially gives me about ten days to wrap my mind around this before seeing a contracted c&p psychiatrist for evaluation. i know i could have been more of a student of va strategy …

What To Do If C&p Doc Diagnosed Me With Something But It Was Not Considered?
Well, I was going through my c-file and noticed that the doc diagnosed me with tinea pedis that I did not claim. Since I was NEVER seen for this in service and it is not in my SMR, can I now file a claim for it? If so, how do I? Keep in mind, my C&P was on 10-22-08, I retired on 10-31-2008. Can I still use his diagnosis to file a claim for tinea pedis? Does that mean I should file a NOD?

Rating Increase
I have a question, I had surgery on my right knee for a torm menicus. The VA gave me a 100% rating for the month after surgery and then drop me back down to 20% where I was at before the surgery. Then turned around and said the torn menicus was not SC or caused by my other bilateral knee disabilities. I medical records state I had popping and cracking in the knee I had the surgery on. Does it make any since to give me a 100% rating to recover from the knee surgery and then don't give a rating for the torn menicus removal? Can someone give me some feedback on how to address this with the VA. Because I think they should have given me an extra 10% for the partical menicus re…

Sleep Apnea? First Time Poster
Greetings, Many topics, I hope that I am posting this in the right spot. I'm filing a claim for sleep apnea which I've had for years, I got out back in 1998 and there was no note of the problem them. I suffered a blow to my face from another soldier in Saudi during desert storm in 1990 which necessitated a trip to the field medical center and stitches. Only years later did I realize that it deviated my septum which my civilian doctors tell me caused 100% blockage in one nostril and caused my sleep apnea. Any tips for filing a claim? I'm not sure my Saudi medical records exist, but I've found several members of my old unit who will sign affidavits acknowledge…

Qualifications For Examiners Performing C&p Mental Disorder Exams
There's another topic entitled Helpful Websites http://www.hadit.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=34686 in which I found through following a link of one of the sites a description on QUALIFICATIONS FOR EXAMINERS PERFORMING COMPENSATION AND PENSION (C&P) MENTAL DISORDER EXAMINATIONS http://www1.va.gov/vhapublications/ViewPub...asp?pub_ID=1391 That seems to have started a discussion on whether it would be helpful or not. It is a great discussion, but I didn't want others to think I had pirated the Helpful Website. That wasn't my intent. I just thought it was great to find something that might be helpful within the number of links mentioned. The reason f…

ptsd P&t Question
I carried a 40% for many years for my SC back and ankle. I was granted 100% SC for PTSD in August of 2007. But it was not listed as P&T. I currently have an ongoing claim for increased disability for my back and ankle from (2006). The question I have is.. In my medical file dated November 2009, from my psychiatrist is states, “Veteran is unable to work. He is permanently and totally disabled.” How do I go about filing for P&T? Is this enough evidence to prove P&T? Since I have a claim open (represented through the DAV) should I send a copy of the medical record showing the evidence? Or do I just need to file for it myself? Any help would be appreciated.
