State of Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs Dependents Educational Assistance The State Aid Program - Dependents Educational Assistance. Section 288 of Title 29 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950 has been amended and re-enacted to provide financial aid for children and surviving spouses of certain veterans of this state who died in service in the Armed Forces of the United States or died of a service connected disability incurred during a wartime period. Hello, At the end of January I will be retiring and moving to Japan, where my wife and I have a home. My question is if the VA decides its time for a new CnP exam, would I have report to the nearest VAMC which I believe is in Guam? Somehow I dont think there travel allowance would quite cover the cost of reporting in just to play the same old games with them. It would be great if I could go to the Yokosuka navy base, but I know the VA doesnt care about convenience. The Embassy website gave me an obscure link, that wasn't helpful at all. Also I have two pending claims one for a rate increase and one at the DRO's desk, these claims are waiting for a decision. Would it…

Hello Folks, Not sure if the topic/thread is a good fit for this sub-forum, but I could not find any better fit. Recently I got my TDIU rating, and alongside my new rating come some extra benefits, such as lodging at Bachelors Party/Billeting, etc, in military installation in the US and overseas for a much lower rating of a hotel/motel. So I was wondering whether anyone around here would have used such perk before; and how easy, available, and accessible would it be. I am mostly considering spending some time in Germany. Any input would be greatly appreciated. tk3000

I was recently approved for a pension, took 1 month to process, and was approved. As my ratings go, it says that I'm 10% service related and it has 2 non service related disabilities rated at 50% each. I'm just trying to figure out where to go from here. My pension isn't enough to keep up with bills, I'm unable to hold a job because of my disabilities, but it's difficult to try to figure out what I should be doing or who I should go to see for help. Any advice would be helpful.

Louisiana now has passed a law in most of its parishes that doubles a 100% disabled veteran’s homestead exemption to $150,000. Check with you parish tax assessor.

Louisiana just passed a Constitutional Amendment for TDIU 100% veterans. The law now reads that wherever the parish (county) had passed the double homestead exemption for 100% vets it now would include the 100% TDIU vets. The exemption is $75,000 for everyone and is $150,000 for disabled 100% vets. Check each parish to make sure they passed the first exemption. This information can be found at each parish tax office.

State of Massachusetts Department of Veterans Affairs This link is to the benefits page of the Department's website. The page has an easy-to-follow menu. The following was copied from the main benefits page. The links will open to pages on the department's website. For this specific state's website, it's recommended that you use the actual site to search the benefits, as it is well laid out. I did the best I could to make this post represent the information on the website and be easily navigated. Benefits Public Assistance (Ch. 115) Under Chapter 115 of Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L. ch. 115), the Commonwealth provides a uniform program of …

hello. Nubie here but I have a desperate question to ask. Is this directive still in effect (see the link)? I have a VSO that I believe is not going by the rules. Case in point...Chapter 115 during the covid-19 pandemic, state that no veteran need NOT to do.... certain things. I would like to have an answer to this before I bring this up to my VSO Monday. I'm assuming this is still in effect...yes? No? If no, where's a link that says it's no longer in effect? Thanks in advance! The link I am referring to is this: https://massvetben.org/important-information-related-to-chapter-115-benefits-and-the-current-covid-19-outbreak/
