Goodday Vets I am going to be moving to Texas because I have been informed that Texas has the best benefits for Disabled Vets and Vets! I was told I could use my VA loan and also use the VLB for a home loan or land loan also at the same time? Also the other State benefits seem to be better than any other State in the Country.

I had a question about the student loan forgiveness. My husband received 100% t&p. We were going to fill out the form and it says you qualify but then also states “unemployable”. He still is working. Are we still aloud to apply for this? TIA!

I just got 100% IU and thought my kids could go to school for free as long as they went in the State of Maine. Now I'm wondering because everything I'm finding sounds like you have to be P&T. Is that the case for the education benefits?

This is from the SS website url below https://www.ssa.gov/planners/retire/military.html How You Get Credit For Special Extra Earnings The information that follows applies only to active duty military service earnings from 1957 through 2001. Here's how the special extra earnings are credited on your record: Service in 1957 Through 1977 You are credited with $300 in additional earnings for each calendar quarter in which you received active duty basic pay. Service in 1978 through 2001 For every $300 in active duty basic pay, you are credited with an additional $100 in earnings up to a maximum of $1,200 a year. If you enlisted after Sept…

I just reached 100% P&T. My friend who is 100% told me that his child can get college paid for. I can only find in Chapter 35 a stipend monthly. Can anyone give me more info on this or what he told me not the truth.

Have anyone out there read anything about this. I think this is one of the steps the Donald is trying to enforce to cut the budget, and the scary part of it is , it will work and take effect 2018. This is gong to hurt a lot of Vet's that depend on that second income to make ends meet. A retirement check from service is not enough to get you over the hump. Eliminate Concurrent Receipt of Retirement Pay and Disability Compensation for Disabled Veterans https://www.cbo.gov/budget-options/2013/44744 Note: This option would take effect in October 2014. Military service members who retire-either following 20 or more…

Hi all :) , My father is a marine corps veteran. He's 60 years old, had a heart attack a few weeks ago and has depression/grief and numerous other health issues. His SSDI is a sure thing, but he is waiting for word from the intermediary company handling every aspect of his claim. He doesn't want to take on the process of increasing his 30% Service Connection because of the additional stress involved. He has to move soon because his income only covers 80% of his rent and he is burning through his savings, which is small. I've been trying to find him a place, but his income only allows for the 'shadier' apartments and he feels pretty vulnerable. Since this is p…

I'm looking for the link (I know I've seen one, but can't find it) that lists all of the State and Federal benefits a sc Veteran is entitled to by the percentage they are sc with....ie: 0 cost for meds at 50% sc, etc. Can someone point me in the right direction to find it? This is probably a question that is asked often, please accept my apology in advance for not being able to find it. Thank you very much, VetsLady

I just read on another site that after 18 months of federal employment any veteran with disability rating (this is how I understand it) can retire with federal pension of some sort and also their VA disability. This seems a little out there, and I don't know any more about it than that post. Any help would be appreciated, as to truth of this, amounts, etc.
