How Long Does This Normally Take?
My claim was completed after about 2 years. I was found 100% SC, Permanent on 20 April 2013, effective date 01 August 2011. Since receiving the decision I had to submit another form to the Buffalo VARO electing to receive VA Benefits in Lieu of Retirement so I could fall under concurrent receipt and recieve both disability and retirement. To date I have yet to receive a dime. I understand that retro pay will take some time to compute at DFAS but I would have thought that my monthly entitlement would have started by now. My local congressman has inquired on the hold-up twice but still nothing. The Buffalo VARO opened up a new claim labeled Eligibility Determination. T…

Poa
Hello Folks, As of now I lack a POA (I used to have POA from the VFW). I contacted the American Legion and was informed that they could take assist me with a POA since I have an ongoing appeal. How important would be to have a POA at the regional office? As far as I am concerned I don't feel in need of advises, but the situation with the VA is so chaotic that it seems impossible to reach the VA via phone and the ebenefits is nothing but a joke, besides it seems that the VSO with POA would have access to my real VA records of claims and appeals. thanks, tk3000

Claim Nightmare Going On Since 2007
What a nightmare of a time I have had getting to the final disposition of my claim which started in 2007. It seems it is better to provide more info than less so this maybe a rather long post, I'll be brief when I can. My typing and sentence construction is difficult at times as I had a TIA in May of 2012. In August 2012 I found out by accident that I could be “advanced on the docket” if certain conditions were met. My condition appeared to merit advancement as it was awarded. However, since being advanced on the docket, I have received notice that more medical information was necessary and the VA is still not able to make a determination in my case. I was medically…

Service Connection For The Purpose Of Esp Elgibility To Treatment
I finally read all the papers my mind was all over the place. Maybe because of oth they have given me service connection for the purpose of establishing eligibility to treatment for the following. low back right knee ptsd bi-polar with depression anxiety and paranoid psychosis and add. Its weird, I went to va today and showed them my records of service, and buddy statement about getting shot at downtown naples and a few other crazy things that happened to me. its all in my records and its shows it getting worse and worse until 2008 they listed my anxiety as chronic. Long story short they said my civilian doc prob didn't feel it out the right way so we wil…

Add Does Va Rate It?
I don't rember but i guess i told the doc i had it in high school. They denied me on my claim, i'll atach decision I think this is complete bs also, since all mental conditions effect each other. I would do really good at work then have break downs and go to the mental health.

What Is Sec. Shinseki's Email Address?
Awhile back, someone posted that they had email Sec. Shinseki and got a response. If that person, or anybody else, knows his email address, please PM it to me. Thanks.

What If You Can Not Get Use To Cpap Machine
I was wondering if anyone knew, what happens if you have sleep apnea but can not sleep using the cpap. I don't think the VA can lower you're rate or take it away, I actually think they should increase it because you can not get what you need to be fully rested. Always any feed back is appreciated.

diabetes Agent Orange And Ischemic Heart Disease
I am rated 90% and tdiu p&t.and have been since 2002. I just learned that IHD is a presumed agent orange disease. I have IHD, and it is on a lot of my va docs notes and had a stress test showing mild ischemia. One of my ratings is for coronary artery disease tied to my diabetes because of agent orange exposure.Coronary artery disease can also cause IHD.I know their will be no benefit increase if im rated with IHD, but i would then have a schedular rating of 100% and possibly qualify for smc award. Or should i just let the sleeping dog ly? Thanks

diabetes Sleep Apnea And Diabetes Ii
Hi: I went to a private MD for SA. I'm SC with diabetes II and NP in both hand and legs, 50% SC. He gave me this diagnose: "This patient has severe OSA with hypoxemia (!) and this explains the degree of hypersomnia and dysmtos. Also the onset of diabetes and OSA appear to be concomitant. In any case, he warrants therapy with CPAP. Will begin therapy with close follow up to ensure optimal CPAP compliance". Will this could help me to summit a claim? I need advice. Thx.

Champa
I just got 100% P$T compensation rating. That means my wife can get Champa insurance. She is disabled and on Medicare. She already has an Athem Medicare Advandage plan that cost her nothing a month. It has a small co-pay to see the doctors and a co-pay for hospital and etc. I hear that Champa pays 80% on her drugs. Her plan will pay about as much on her drugs that Champa will. When she hits the gap , she would save about $150 per month on Champa , but when she hits the next level after the gap(and she will for about 4 months) , she would still be paying 20% for her drugs on Champa. On her Anthem, she would only be paying about 5% for her drugs for the same four month…

Anyone Else Have Tias Or Stroke Like Symptoms & Rated Disabled?
Hope I'm posting this in the right place... I've got a history of TIAs (mostly tingling & numbness on my left side but also confusion and dizziness, some slurring, but not full blown stroke symptoms) and have been under treatment specifically for this condition since shortly after discharging/retiring in August, 2010. My first attempt at getting a disability rating through an FDC failed, and I've gone back with additional evidence and diagnoses. I've also gone back with a second claim for prostrating migraines. Meanwhile, have seen elsewhere on hadit.com that others have not been normally rated for TIAs. The DAV NSO said as much and sent me back to the team…
