Do I Have A Claim
I am a honorably discharded veteran of the US Navy. I served from October 1988 to March 1991. I dont know where to start with this process. I am seeking your advise regarding the process in filing a disability claim through the Veterans Affairs. A quick synopses of my issue- in 2000 I had a stroke that affected the right side of my brain. Because of the stroke, I have lost my left field of vision, my word association and problems remembering things. I was only 32 when this happened. I had extensive testing trying to find out the reason why a seamingly healthy 32yo suffered a stroke. I had an echo cardiogram with bubble study that revealed I had a hole in my …

ptsd Help With Ptsd And Suicidal Attempts
I need some help. I file a claim for PTSD and was awarded 50%. But the C & P showed I should have been higher. The Beck Anxiety Index score was 56 severe Depression Inventory II was 49 severe Global Assessment of Functioning was 41 serious symptoms I don't want to put the whole C & P on here but I have some issues and they were noted. I didn't have help with the claim so everything else I claimed was denied. I didn't think the rating was fair and was looking at the possibility of it being 70% (but oh well) The VA's reviewers stated although the GAF score stated a 70%-100% It wasn't warranted because I didn't have enough anger issues or …

Diagnsed With Fibromyalgia But Va Says I Waited Too Long To File From Gulf War.
I got out of the Army in 1997, on my physical leaving the Army the doctor annotated I had headaches, muscle and joint pains and so forth. I started going to the VA in 2001. Immediately I started complaining about muscle and joint pains, headaches, IBS, Acid reflux. For years I was bounced around from doctor to doctor with treatment for each symptom individually. It wasn't until recently in 3013 A civilian Rheumatologist doctor diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia. Then a VA doctor reviewed all my records and diagnosed me with Chronic Pain Syndrome and Myofascial Pain. I received my C & P and it has me with the diagnoses, unsuccessful treatments, medications not working, in…

Question About Filing Additional Claim Before 1 Year After Discharge Timeframe
I hope I am posting this question in the correct forum. I retired from the Marine Corps with 34 years of service as a MGySgt Oct 2013. I filed a Before Discharge Claim through the Disabled Veterans in Sept 2013. Currently my claim is being processed through Salem-Winston with my C&P being completed during November 2013. I filed for 3 cervical postlaminectomy surgeries, R/L radiculpathy for arms/legs, Lumbar issues, along with a few other issues. My question is concerning filing or when to file additional medical issues that I was diagnosed with after discharge. A few months after discharge I was diagnosed with right facial trigeminal with pain, moderate sleep ap…

Va Compensation And Fdr At Same Time For Same Issue
I became a federal employee in 2008. At the time I was rated 0% for hearing loss by VA. In 2009 the VA rated me 20% for hearing loss In 2011 the Va rated me 30% for hearing loss and 10% for tinitus for a total of 40% In 2012 my federal police job had me do occupational medical testing. I failed the hearing test portion and was not successfully cleared for duty. I was instructed to do follow up checks. A Dr. Cleared me for duty as long as I wear my hearing aids and complted follow up apointments. Now in 2014 I am considering to apply for federal disability retirment. since my federal disability retirement claim will be for the same issuse as my va comensation of …
