Is "comorbid" A Good Thing?
I had a C&P for an increase for insomnia and secondary claim for depression. I'm curious if anyone can tell me if what the doctor wrote about "comorbid" is helpful to my claim or not. I only have a paper copy of the C&P. Diagnosis #1: Specified Depressive Disorder Diagnosis #2 Sleep Disorder Insomnia This is the part that confuses me... Does the veteran have more than one mental disorder diagnosed? Yes Is it possible to differentiate what symptoms are attributable to each diagnosis? No "Conditions are comorbid and causally related to each other. Symptoms overlap and exacerbate each other and are otherwise intertwined and cannot be separated from one another.…

diabetes Radiculopathy Progressed Into Neuropathy?
I've been researching this but can't find anything. I've been seeing a Pain Management and Neurosurgeon facility since Sept-October 2014. They decided to give me an EMG yesterday because of the pain and numbness/tingling I have. The pain started down my buttocks into the bottom of my feet and toes back in 2012. Currently I have loss of sensation that has wrapped around to the top of my feet and up into my shins. After the EMG the MD said he had to put everything together for his report and will call me back in for the FULL results. He did say his initial results are that if I only had L5-S1 Bilateral Radiculopathy in 2013 then its getting worse and has progressed into Neu…

Can I Claim Recently Diagnosed Glaucoma?
Hello everyone, I am 26 and I was active duty Army from 06-13. I was just diagnosed with open angle glaucoma in both eyes, and the images of my optic nerves indicate they are slightly damaged due to the high eye pressure and large optic nerves (both are common symtopms of glaucoma) also my eye pressure was 26 in my right eye and 25 in the left. I was prescribed eye drops that I have to use twice a day for the rest of my life. They gave me the Alphagan drops first but they only lowered my pressure to 18 in both and my doc wanted it lower so he gave me stronger drops called Combigan and that is keeping my eyes at a healthy 15 for the eye pressure which again, I have to …

Being Re-Evaluated
I fell off a training tower (about 30') 1988. After a year I was honorably discharged dd-214 says combat related injury. They told me to go to the VA and they would take care of me as I had trouble walking at times(still do). After getting a run around for a couple years I gave up on them helping me. Through the years I have had a rough time even was homeless at one point as I could not work for periods of time. About 5 years ago I went to a customer of mines home to give him an estimate and I was having trouble with my back at the time and walking as if I were 90. My customer was a disabled Marine and asked why I was walking like I was. I explained and he gave me the num…

Fibroids (On Active Duty) And Hysterectomy (Post-Service)
Hello, both pregnancies occurred on active duty and during both I had fibroid tumors. The tumors reduced in size and didn't pose a problem immediately post delivery but created problems later that was not correlated at the time with fibroids. Post separation, i submitted a claim for the fibroid tumors and it was denied in April 2014 because of lack of documentation. I did not submit an appeal due to a busy life with new job and family. Approximately nine months ago, Sept 2014, I started having symptoms of what I thought were early menopause (unpredictable and long menstrual periods, and with lots of pain). I didn't do anything about it for months, thinking it would s…

Health Benefits Denied?
Hello, I am an Army veteran of the Gulf War. I served 1 year and 3 months active duty before getting an honorable discharge. Upon returning from the Gulf War I became depressed and starting gaining weight. Within 6 months I was discharged from the Army. Throughout the past years I have experienced issues both mentally and physically ,but have been in denial that it was war related issues. For the last 20 years I have had sleep problems and nightmares that have gotten worse in the last 7 years. I was hospitalized for 7 days with a GI Bleed in 2008. I'm still having stomach problems and intestinal issues which make me use the bathroom constantly. I also suffer with anxiet…

Florida And Medicare Supplement Anybody Under 50...
Is there anybody who has any medicare supplement here in Florida? I'm 46 and can't get a quote online because of my age, which I still say is illegal. Example: AARP who uses United Healthcare provides these plans for people over a certain age. If somebody is OFFICIALLY medically retired, on SSDI and has medicare then NO insurance company should be allowed to decline people like me medicare supplement insurance. IMHO this is discrimination because a company cannot provide service to just a group of people based on their age and not others who have the same disabilities. Anyway this is another debate for a another time. Is there anybody on here in Florida who is …

Is This A Cue For Tbi/head Injury
This is what happens to me. Although there is a record of treatment in service for head and back injury, no permanent residual or chronic disability subject to service connection is shown by service medical records or demonstrated by evidence following service. In order to establish a well-ground claim, the veteran should provide medical evidence which demonstrates a permanent residual or chronic disability. service medical records shows that the veteran FELL AND HIT HER HEAD and back in August 1988. There was no evidence of loss of consciousness or a brain concussion and examination of the back reveal no tenderness. No further evaluation for the injuries was noted. …
