ptsd !00% temp award
So I got awarded a 100% temp disability rating for bipolar adjustment disorder with anxiety, depressed mood and insomnia. Even though my C&P exam showed PTSD along with many other Drs I did not receive a rating for ptsd. I was sure the C&P exam was for ptsd, but I don't know what happened because when I got there the dr told me it was for my bipolar (even though all drs beside the C&P and the original dr have ruled bipolar out). So I was given the rating based on the bipolar disorder that was wrongfully diagnosed. I'm happy to have a diagnosis that I can truly get help for, I'm entering a PTSD inpatient program Weds. However, I don't have the fight in me anymo…

I want to talk about Agoraphobia
Currently I am awarded 50% for Panic Disorder with Agoraphobia, and GAD. I have read the rating criteria for both the 50% rating, and the 70% rating, and I believe I have a mixture of both. What concerns me is that in the rating criteria's there is no mention of Agoraphobia, only housebound status that pays you more but doesn't increase your rating %. I really think the VA should add Agoraphobia to the 70% rating criteria, because not all Agoraphobics are 100% housebound. VA therapist will come to your house and help you with Agoraphobia, starting with stepping outside your door, then a few feet away, then do the yard, sidewalk etc, after this you are no longer "houseboun…

Proving Back Pain, Rate Increase
Hello all, I'm rated 10% for lumbar sprain. I generally have two different types of back pain, middle to lower when I'm sleeping and sciatica including down the legs when moving around. Couple questions... I'm rated at 10%, should these two pains be considered two different claims? Also, my pain toward the middle of my back down to my hips usually only effects me while I'm sleeping, laying down position. This hurts me so much, it's as if my back is frozen and i can hardly move. It takes quite a bit for me to be able to even get out of bed, thus missing work occasionally. I've been in contact with the VA a lot lately because of this and they are only offering a …

100% Convalescent Pay For Surgery Denied?
I had a surgery in 2014 I had a nerve release in my elbow because they said it would help my already service connected tendon repair in my hand/wrist. That happen on Dec 12 and I was home bound and away from work until Jan 17 in cast for left elbow surgery but at the time it was not service connected but i file the claim 2 months after surgery and it became secondary to my already sc claim of left hand tendon repair. The rater admitted that it was valid for 100% for the month of Dec-Jan, but he told me that because it was done before It was determined as secondary and awarded as secondary, I could not get paid 100% for that month because by law they could not go …

General Va Question, Not Sure How To Proceed
First off, thx to the mods for this board and for allowing me to join. I've always enjoyed being around fellow service brothers and sisters regardless of the branch. I'm having some issues and I'm not exactly sure what to do and was hoping someone on here could give me some advice. I was honorably discharge, medically, from the marines in Dec of 97 due to flat feet. They still hurt to this day, but this isn't the reason I'm posting here. The reason I'm posting here is that on average of about once a week (saying average here as sometimes it's 2 to 3 per week other weeks none) I have very vivid dreams of being called back to military service. These started a few we…

Considered To Be A War Zone.
Good Evening, Hello everyone, I was just talking with a friend about different campaigns and war zones, and like Afghanistan, and Iraq, he states that he took place in the Kosovo war where he was stationed out of Aviano Italy, and he states that was considered a combat zone. Does this sound correct? Respectfully,

Ets Physical Examination
Thank you for providng a wealth of information and support. I finished my military commitment in 1990 and entered the National Guard where I was discharged as medically unfit. Prior to my ETS date from active duty, I completed paperwork stating all the medical concerns/problems I had while enlisted. Does anybody know what form this is and how I can obtain it? There was one medical concern I had and it was never considered or addressed. (Ongoing dizziness from the last day of basic training until I was discharged. They said it was a stomach virus.) Again, thank you.

Anyone Ever Heard Of A Norsechief Mos?
Good afternoon! I am sorry in advance if this is not the appropriate forum, I couldn't find an area for general questions. I am helping the wife of a friend file her husbands FDC. My problem is that his job title/MOS on his DD214 states "Norsechief" and I can't find that anywhere! I have even been on the Viernam era Marine Corps MOS site and nada! He was out of Camp LaJeune and then onto Cambodia and Laos with Charlie company in 1970-71 and is listed as a VFMA314? Anybody? I am at a loss after spending an entire morning looking for this.... Thank you, marineswife
