Confused on connection granted
I served 4 years active USAF from 1986-1990. Worked avionics...lugged heavy toolboxes and worked in cramped spaces and on flight line. Fast forward to 2001...C5-6 disc rupture resulting in cervical myelopathy and incomplete spinal cord injury (quad with para function). Apparently I have a very narrow spinal canal which obviously existed when I was in the AF. The degenerative processes in my neck had already begun by that point. On 11/30/2015 I submitted claims for: Spinal stenosis, cervical myelopathy, quadriplegia, neurogenic bladder (I have to cath), neurogenic bowel (I have an ileostomy), severe spasticity and muscle spasms, tinnitus. They schedule…

Chronic Fatigue denied due to IBS????
I was looking over my old claims last night and noticed I had an c&p done in 2012 for chronic fatigue by a PA. The reasoning she gave for the denial and not completing the DBQ was. -Veteran claims chronic fatigue from Gulf War exposure -Veteran already has IBS diagnosis and therefore excludes CFS (This PA granted my IBS claim the same day she didn't examine me for CFS) - As a result, the remainder of this DBQ was not completed I wanted to get you guys opinion is there anything I need to do concerning the above before I seek a IMO

from 92% to 100%
I have a VA Math question. Currently, I am at 92.34 and getting paid for 90%. Assuming I receive 30% more that would put me at 94.64 Question: does the rating of 94.64 launch me to 100%?

Does this fit the Federal TORT Law
I don't know where to post this but I am seriously of thinking of speaking to an attorney about this. Back in 2011 I had an MRI that showed 2 herniations in my neck. Then in 2012 I had one from the VA that showed a herniation in my lumbar with STENOSIS. The VA refuses to do surgery and I just found out the reason recently. Because they don't have NEUROSURGEONS on staff at 98% of their medical centers. Nor do they have a orthosurgeon that works with the back. In 2013 I was told by Dr. Bash that if the VA didn't decompress my back I would be in a wheelchair. Well a few weeks ago I feel and the ER MD stated the same exact thing. If I had these two MDs write this on paper wou…

Temporary 100% Disability???
Hi there! I hope all is well with everyone! I have been gone for awhile but I am back... Long story short on 12/24/15 I fell down stairs at my daughter's house. My left foot (S/C) gave out on me (had surgery - minor on ankle/toe in June 15) and it gave out on me causing me to fall. I wound up breaking my 5th Metatarsal with a transverse and spiral fractures. My right foot has had a prior fracture but is not S/C at the moment. I am awaiting the appeals process for that issue. I got back to the VA Dallas Hospital and saw my podiatrist. He indicated I need surgery and I am having it on Wednesday. I am going to be in the hospital for a day but the issue I ha…

Question about school age child benefits
First, I hope everyone had a great New Years Day. I have two children over age 18 and still in school. I have submitted paperwork proving one is in college, the other in senior year of high school. My question is, has anyone heard that if you submit dependent requests through ebenefits, that you will automatically receive the monthly increase on your next monthly check, with backpay being done whenever they get to your claim? I read that on one of the Vantage blogs, and was wondering if anyone knows for sure. Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Reopened Claim & sent my Medical Records as evidence.
So I've been poking around here for a couple months, but just now wanted to ask the forum a question. I served in the USMC from Dec '95-Dec'99. I don't wanna make it too long, so here's a short summary of what happened. In 2010 I had issues at work with many of the ailments I know were brought upon due to service (ankle/shoulder/back) - I have documents in my medical files which I personally had in my possession. So I filed 'online' for disability concerning those issues. Actually went to I guess a C&P exam. I never received anything from them regarding the need of medical records, because I "assumed" they had copies of them in their possession. Well, 9 months later …

I am 36 and rated 40% for asthma and PTSD. I will be undergoing Mitral valve replacement at the VA in houston in 2 weeks. What are the chances this will be given a rating by the VA? It seems very hard to prove where the valve disease came from and no one has any idea that Ive talked to.

Family health insurance for 100% DV
Hello everyone. I'm sure that there is a more appropriate place for this, and if admin would like to place this in a more appropriate place, I understand. I have been awarded 100% but just lost my job/family health insurance. I was looking at tricare, but I am not a retiree, just plain old ETS. If anyone knows of any entitlements that I'm unaware of so that I can get my sick child and pregnant wife to the hospital without breaking the bank, please let me know. Thank you all, so much!!! Mike
