If It All Starts With The C-File, Then How The Heck Do We Get It?
I call the VA and they hang up on me after they inform me I need to write a letter to the VARO in Baltimore. Ok what kind of letter? I visited the DAV there and the rep said that he completed a FOIA request for me but I don't see it in ebenes. I have sat on my 40% for over 20 years without 1/100th of the knowledge I've been learning through this site. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt I've been low balled. I have most of my military records but I don't want to send duplicates of what the VA has reviewed. However I do not know how my ratings were reviewed. Can anyone inform me on how to properly request my c-file? Thank you.

Additional Diagnosis
I have a claim in process (Gathering Evidence), with 7 individual disabilities. My question: If the private treatment/clinical records from my HMO show additional disabilities not listed in my claim, will the VA Representative who is reviewing those HMO records, place them into my VA claim for rating? Example: I did not put in my claim Hearing Loss, MDD, Strokes-but they ARE in my medical records. I see now that I should have requested a VSR-my loss. Stationed in Thailand 1966-1969 Any help greatly appreciated!

Question About Sinuses And Pyramiding
Below is the chart on award percentages. My question is this: If you have sinusitis, let's say they would rate it at 50% for radical surgery, and you also had rhinitis with polyps, rateable at 30%, would they rate you individually for each, or would the take the higher rating of the two? They are separated from each other in the scale, but are affecting the same area / body system, which is why I am asking. These crossovers like this are still a bit confusing to me. Does anyone know? Schedule of Ratings tables for Sinusitis and Allergic Rhinitis: 6510 Sinusitis, pansinusitis, chronic. 6511 Sinusitis, ethmoid, chronic. 6512 Sinusitis, frontal, chronic. 6513…

hypertension New Diagnoses Agent Orange Exposure
Good Evening Everyone, I have been browsing this site for a few hours. I did not find answers to what I have questions for. So I am hoping someone can advise me. My Father served in the Marine Corp In Vietnam from 7/1967 to 5/1970. It was determined that he was exposed to Agent Orange. Along with being on a registry for Camp Lejeune for water contamination. My Father wears AFO leg braces for the Neuropathy. He was falling a lot and I had discussed with his Primary Care Dr a few years back that I felt my father had the beginning stages of Parkinson's. The Dr sent him to the Neurologist at the VA. Which they did a EMG, along with a MRI. They found that my…

ptsd Claim Date And Effective Date Question, Searched Forums And Internets
Hello All, I have been reading the forums and am thankful for the useful information I have found. My claim was just settled tonight, based on Ebenefits, and said I was awarded 70%. My question comes from looking at the disability section on the website and it provides three different dates. I was wondering if there anyone knows for sure what would be the date the VA will look to award backpay. For reference it says something like: Strain, left knee (previously under dc 5257) service connected. Pre discharge Exam. 6/26/2014 Degenerative join disease, right shoulder (previously under dc 5201-5003)/ service connected/ pre-dischare exam/ 6/26/2014 PT…

Advice For New Claims
Hello, I am new to this site and am happy to see that there are a lot of folks on here who know the ins and outs of filing claims with the VA. Hopefully someone will be able to offer me advice on how I should proceed. I did not know until recently the issues I've been dealing with were covered by the VA, otherwise I would've started this years ago. I'll try to provide adequate detail. Background: Navy; Honorable discharge in 2003; Persian Gulf; did just about every job imaginable on the boat. Claims and questions: Scarring/pain: service medical record contains detailed record of surgery for removal of Basal Cell skin cancer on my face, including drawing, m…

I stole this out of another thread (Thanks Buck), I didn't want to hijack it, but I had never heard of this before and I am trying to figure out why not and why I can't get it? §4.28 Prestabilization rating from date of discharge from service.
