ptsd Radiculopathy L4-L5 vs Chronic Sciatica Claim
Hello all, First off...BIG THANKS!!!! I am a newbie (sorta) and have been following this site for close to 2 years. You all helped me go from 40% to 70% total last year! This is my first post so I hope I am asking it in the right place. (Haven't found an answer similar). I have initiated a claim for an increase of my PTSD. I am also claiming secondary disabilities to DDD (rated 40%) such as Depression and Radiculopathy. But I noticed I don't have a diagnosis for it. All my treatment records state DDD or chronic LBP until they recently starting stating "Radicular symptoms begining 6/18/15". I have 21 pages of VA medical documentation for burning, altered gait, radical…

Repeat C&P Exam
Hello all, I filed for an increase on several contentions as well as some new contentions in February 2015 and had my C&P exams conducted in August 2015. I just received a call to schedule C&Ps for the same exams previously conducted in August 2015, with the same doctors as well as with a mental health doctor. I suspect this is common if there is a question from the rater, my question is has this happened before to anyone else or am I just being paranoid? Thanks for any input...

ptsd Working with PCP/VSO's
Good morning everyone! First post.I have switched my PCP to a VA doctor, and have my first meeting with him on Oct 5th. My assumption (you know how that goes) is that using the VA PCP would benefit me in my claims. My question is, how do I go about telling them that, "look, here is my goal". I'm not asking to "lead" him, but I'd like to tell him my issues and have some comfort in knowing that he will help with IMO/Nexus letters, et cetera?I will be mentioning Headaches, my TMJ issues, and my upcoming sleep study on the 27th of Oct.As well, I meet with my VSO's on the 28th to discuss these issues and to even try to bump up my PTSD to 70%. It will be the first time I "me…

ptsd Bipolar 1 aggravation, OTH discharge, is it worth applying?
I'm here because I'm not really sure where to start. I was active duty Navy from July 2004-Sept 2005, during which time I went from stable to self harm and eventually a suicide attempt that put me in Portsmouth Naval Hospital for a week. A month after I was released from psychiatric care I returned to duty for several weeks before going AWOL for 60 days, and then returning to duty. I was put on restriction, given an OTH discharge and went home hoping to put that chaos behind me. Although the therapist I was sent to on the boat was adamant that I was not bipolar, I've been treated for exactly that since 2009, along with anxiety and PTSD symptoms most likely stemming from t…

Medical Aspect of Development
Hello all, haven't been on here in a while; have been in the "hurry up and wait" mode of filing a claim with the VA. It's been four months since I filed my latest claim. I have a rep at my local state Senators office assisting with the claim and feel like it's going in a positive direction this time. In the claims I've filed in the past, I'd have already gotten my denial letter for an increase in my SCD. I got the needed medical evidence outside the VA to submit with this claim, per instructions from the rep, that includes an MRI of my lumbar spine showing 5 ruptured discs. Another MRI of my neck, done with the VA, shows two ruptured discs with stenosis present in both th…

would an increase migraines from 30 to 50% risk my 100%?
I am currently 100% p&t for more than 5 years. I am also rated at 10%knee, 10%back 10%foot and 30% for migraines, but I meet the criteria for 50%. If I apply for an increase would I be putting my 100% p&t in jeopardy?

AD Medical Records Missing
I have been reading along for several years now. Finally managed to join after weeks of trying to register. I was AD USAF 1986-1990 then became dependent until present. I have been engaged in a conflict with the Oakland regional office over my military medical records. We hand carried records from station to station until everything was scanned prior to our return from the UK in 2007. Now I only have dependent records from 2004 to present with my local base medical center and the VA archive just sent a CD to my congressman that only has the last 2 years of medical records ! They included all kinds of documentation regarding my enlistment, separation, reserve service forms…

Bi-Polar Disorder
Hello everyone. What I want to know is if I am getting an adequate service connection percentage. I am currently getting 30% for Bi-Polar disorder. I was originally at 10% and then applied for an increase in my percentage in 2011 and it was raised to 30%. I keep seeing and hearing about vets getting higher percentages than me and it confuses me. Like my brother in law gets 20% for a bad knee and when in my mind I compare a bad knee to constant mood swings, bouts of depression, never ending anxiety, paranoid thoughts especially in social situations whether it be at work or in social gatherings, the occasional psychotic break, and constantly feeling like I'm weird or cra…

ptsd OVERALL FROM 90% TO 92% ???
I have a question and I hope to explain myself clearly enough. I just won an appeal for increase of PTSD from 50 to 70 with effective date of 2011. sounds like backpay. so I was 90% percent before. does that make me 92% overall? I am trying for 100% and need to reach 95 so that 20 % bump might help... or does it? the second part of the appeal was my back and my back was "remanded" and hoping that is 30% or more... towards 100% any feedback will be appreciated. thanks,

Preparation For Decision
I hope I posted this in the right area……..Ok so I see in E Benefits that my claim went from gathering evidence to Preparation For Decision. The C&P was done. I now know that I should have requested my C file before. However I did not. Should I ask for a copy now or wait until the decision is made? Also what is this I read about two C files one at BVA and the other somewhere else. Please explain this to me and please advise on wait or request it now? Thank You!

Anybody tried this yet?
http://www.neurolumen.com/ Go to website and watch the videos. The lady who created this was originally for her daughter. Its a device that will help with pain such as in the legs and back due to nerve issues. It has some sort of laser with it along with electrodes. Its not a TENS unit. It reads that medicare has not approved this yet but its my understanding the VA has it by reading elsewhere on the internet. The person who wrote a review said that James A. Haley has it so I ask my VA PCP about it to see why I was not offered this yet.
