Incompetency
I got my BBE in the mail today. It says schedular 100% p&t, but also says I'm incompetent and have to have a fiduciary manage my finances... Anyone know how to change this? They said I have 60 days to submit evidence. What kind of evidence do I need to prove I can pay my own bills?

Recurrent Kidney Stones Rating Question
"....stones are repeatedly formed and it requires either drug therapy, diet therapy, or removal surgeries or procedures 3 or more times each year. If this is the case, it is rated 30%. " So the phrase "repeatedly formed" is rather subjective. What number constitutes "repeatedly"? I've had three occurrences that required ER visits - multiple others that were less severe and were passed without medical attention. I've been prescribed Urocit-K and have a note from a urologist that recommends a special diet for the prevention of future stone formation, yet I've been assigned a 0% rating. What am I missing? I would think that this would meet the stated criteria and w…

VA not addressing I.T. issues
Not sure if I'm making to big of a deal of of this, but I have been consistently following that status of my claim and for at least the past 2-3 months there has been an IT issues preventing the VSR from moving forward with my claim. The IT department has been made aware of the problem, but nothing has been done. I've been informed that the VSR has been checking the file on the suspense date. Emails have been sent to the regional office to remind them of the issues, but no results yet. Is there anything I can do to push this issue, or am I completely at the mercy of the VA? Also I get a variety of answers on what the issue is, whether they are trying to close an exam…

Did they get the rating right? Shoulder injury.
So I got my rating back for a shoulder injury (20%). Have yet to get the letter, but a little concerned on a few things. Long story short.. Shoulder injury turned into one civilian surgery then 2 from the VA. The VA reconstructive surgery had a hamstring graft that left the front of my leg numb. Anyways doing a little digging myself this is what I came up with. Please forgive my ignorance on the matter. Code 5201 Range of motion. I definitely cannot raise my arm more than 45-50 degrees to the front or side without pain and I was evident during the C&P. Figured it would be at least 20% Code 5203 AC Separation. I had a class IV separatio…

Does The Va Ever Get Their Own "va Math" Wrong? Rated At 70 But Should Be 60...
Hey everybody. Long time lurker first time poster. Today I received a letter of entitlement letting me know that the VA has increased my rating for TMJ from 0% to 10%. Obviously I'm happy about this, but I'm worried that I just received way too much backpay (the original claim dated back to March 2011). The letter also states that my combined rating is now 70%, up from 60%. The problem is that when I use the various VA calculators on the 'net, I find that my combined rating should still be 60%. Here are my individual disability ratings: 40% - TBI 10% - back 10% - left knee 10% - right knee 10% - right wrist 10% - TMJ (latest) Using this calculator I g…

Va says they don't know but have it as denied. Wish I could send the letter so you can see.

100% Disability & Housebound - Aid & Attendance?
Hello, I apologize if this is not the correct section for this question. I am not a veteran. My father is a veteran of the Marines, served in Vietnam and was also stationed at Camp Lejeune. He was just recently awarded a 100% disability rating for Parkinson's Disease and the other associated conditions that are tied to it. He was also granted SMC(K1). He no longer drives, lives in an assisted living facility and in my opinion would be deemed housebound. My question is shouldn't the VA have automatically considered him for aid and attendance SMC(S) level? If so, should I be looking to file an appeal to his initial claim, which has been closed out, or fi…

SMC K for SC ED 0%
When I left the service 6 years ago, I received a 60% overall rating from the VA. One of my ratings was 0% for ED which the VA determined was service connected. I recently ran across information that I should be receiving SMC K for the ED. I am not since it isnt noted anywhere. If I am correct in my assumption that I should be receiving the SMC K and if so, how do I fix this. Any help in the right direction would be great. Thanks

Scar From Surgery
I am rated for a scar that was done in the military related to a mark they thought was cancerous on my head. With that being said, i had surgery on my knee to attempt to correct what i am service connected for. Because of this surgery, i have a large scar down the front of my knee. Since this was done after discharge from the military, can i claim the residual scar now? If so, should it be claimed as a secondary to the SC disability. Any insight on this either way and how to claim it would be much appreciated.

Retroactive Pay
I received a first payment of $708.00. I have a wife and 2 children. $708.00 would add up to 40% disability, but what about back-pay? I got lucky and finished the process in 3 months. So my question is, is $708.00 my monthly payment or is that with back pay? Also, what is a "retroactive" payment? Thanks in advanced.

ptsd 100% P&t For Ptsd And Voc Rehab
Hello Everyone, First of all I would like to thank EVERYONE who has taken the time to respond to my numerous questions in the past. I have had nothing but very informative and caring responses from the users on this board, and your comments have always helped me work through whatever issue it is I was dealing with at the time. Having said that I have a new question that I would like to present to the Hadit community. I am currently rated as 100% P&T for Major Depressive Disorder w/Anxiety Attacks AND PTSD, as well as SMC for other disabilities totaling approximately 60% (Sleep Apnea @ 50%, Tinnitus @ 10%, other disabilities at approx 10%). I was initially granted a…
