Surprise 70% Ptsd Rating; Now What Can I Do.............?!
I hope you can help me; not sure what I should do. I was rated Service Connected Disable for PTSD on August 21, 2012 @ 70%. I didn't expect this at all. If anything, I thought I would get a low rating for my physical aliments............(neck, back head shoulder). When I applied in 11/2011, I had been out of work for 3 yrs and was totally distraught, confused and disoriented. Needless to say, I finally got a job in 02/12 and it is no where near what I use to do or the money I use to make. I'd like to know what your advice would be for this: I see where I do have serious social and economic problems and believe I am totally diasable & want to ask for 100% PTSD, …

disabled vets are more in need than active mil
where do i join a forum based on facts? facts as like veterans who became disabled due to service deserve more than active military who get paid more. stores the government and society is having a hard time seeing my point. THEY HAVE THE MONEY TO PAY WHY ARE THEY GETTING BUT VETS NOT?? a current mil E1 gets $3500 a month free education for spouse and children free plus free medical with tri care.... a vet 100 percent disabled gets 3500 without anything else.... VA compensation calculation
I need some help and a second person to look at my service connected disabilities, I calculated I am 100% (combined ratings table) i accounted for the bilateral factor in regards to my tinnitus also. My issue is that the VA hasn't increased my rating to 100% even in my notification letter, everything says I'm at 90%. I used IRIS to ask if they could have miscalculated but have yet to receive a response. My service connected disabilities are as follows; Major depression, single episode with social anxiety 70% Unspecified anxiety and depression 50% Right knee strain 10% Bilateral tinnitus 10% Right elbow arthritis 10% Right shoulder torn labr…

Fibromyalgia secondary to SC PTSD/MST or IBS
Hi there! Long time member here but been MIA for awhile. Life has been busy and I have been dealing with health issues. Long story short, I went through a battery of tests to find out what is wrong with me. I did an ANA-TITER test, and it was positive for an auto immune disease. Was referred to the RA doctor for further testing to see if I had lupus. The RA doctor did blood tests and determined I don't have lupus. We did additionally physical exam at the VA back in May and he determined I had Fibromyalgia and diagnosed me with it. We discussed that my Fibromyalgia co-exists with PTSD/MST and IBS. We also discussed that Fibromyalgia can be secondary to my already…

Secondary Injury caused by VA Surgery?
Hey everyone, First post! I have a shoulder injury I claimed and is service connected. I had 3 surgeries and one was a big reconstructive surgery that required the VA to harvest my hamstring and graft into my shoulder. The incision is on the front of my leg about 2 inches long down next to my shin bones. Funny thing is my shin hurt worse than the shoulder. After about 3 years of recovery there is a large section of the front of my leg that is completely numb and I frequently get shin splints from just walking. Since this is related to a service connected surgery is there any claim on this type of thing? Never really thought about it until the Dr who was evaluati…

"Denied because disability not clinically diagnosed"
I filed a claim for GERD in April of this year. I had a C&P last month. I loaded medical records from service of an upper GI that was done and the reason it was ordered according to the medical form filled out by the doctor was "DYSPHAGIA HX GERD" . I just received my denial letter stating "the medical evidence of record fails to show that this disability has been clinically diagnosed". I don't know what more I could have sent to them to prove this was diagnosed in service? I have been treated by the VA since I got out of the military in 2009 with Prilosec daily, and still have some days when the reflux is terrible. I sleep with 5 pillows under me so that my head…

Applying for Bipolar, Depression and Anxiety-Need Help
Hello, I am new. My name is Johnny. I was discharged from the Army for "patterns of misconduct". I was in the Army in early 90's and went back in in 2007 at the age of 37. My second round in my third year the wheels came off my life. (I had a stellar career in the early 90's and a stellar career up until late 2009) I was asked TOLD I need to apply for alcohol rehab. (As you know if they force you into rehab, it's a game-changer). When I got back I went back to drinking. I got an Article 15 (Captains Mass for Marines and Navy). It was the worst kind a field grade which meant I lost my NCO status. I was suicidal and they put me on the psych ward a couple of times. A month o…

Pending Claim and DIC
I am asking for advice for a friend. Her husband had passed away last year from prostate cancer, he was stationed at Camp Lejeune during the contaminated water dates. He filed a claim in August 2017 and passed away in late October 2017 (he was diagnosed with prostate cancer in late 2014). He had been approved for other disabilities for 40%. The claim was transferred to his wife December 2017, the claim is still pending with no expected completion date. Last week she had called eBenefits and was told it was sitting on someones desk for a signature for approval (supposedly - not holding my breath for an approval). She is currently on SS and has two small children (5 and 10)…

Help with Rhinitis claim
Hello, Can you all please help me understand the results of my recent C&P examination. I asked for an increase of my service connected rhinitis and went from a 0% to a 10% but I believe it should be rated 30% based on the fact that my CT scan showed a 3x5mm Polyp. The CP examiner noted that my CT scan showed a polyp and then he marked no on the polyp question! I provided a DBQ from my personal family doctor that indicated I have a nasal polyp but I think that since the CP examiner was an ENT doc they trumped my family doctor. They also denied my secondary claim for chronic sinusitis secondary to my rhinitis. My CT scan also showed chronic sinus disease. Any help …
