New Claims (Round Iv)
With my already service connected DDD in my C-Spine, I have now an IMO/E letter to the VA through the DAV and used it to just now file for Vertigo, Migraines and Radicular pain in my left shoulder, all secondary to the DDD. While I know that it will be some time before the VA gets back to me with exam dates, I will continue to visit here, offer encouragement and continue to read and learn as much as I can. PS: For the migraines and dizziness, I have been charting them for several months now. George

ptsd New C&p Results
I often view these pages but this is my first time posting. I'd like to see what you think the outcome of my case might be and the reason why you think that. I'd like to know so when I get my decision I can have a baseline to temper my response. It feels like I'm walking in the dark on this sometimes. Just want an azimuth check. Thanks in advance. Current: 10% tinnitus 0% Foot abnormality (soft pea sized growth near my bunion) 0% adjustment disorder 0% eczema Denied: Shoulder injury PTSD I have submitted my NOD and taken two new C&P exams New information.<BR style="mso-special-character: line-break"><BR style="mso-special-character: lin…

Hearing C&p Exam Question
I had a hearing C&P exam the other day and I am super confused -- But first the backround ..... I had my exam done with a civilian and she had access to all of my VA hearing test and evaluations and the test went as expected. Once the test was done she took the time to explain some things to me and this is where I got lost. She explained that they test the hearing in hrz levels and that people with hearing loss from combat related issues have the greatest loss between the 4000 and 6000 hrz range. Then she said that the VA has a formula for figuring out compensation and for the compensation they only look at the hearing loss up to the 4000 range. They test through th…

Ophthalmic Migraines
I had my C&P physical 2 weeks ago. While I was there I saw an eye surgeon about when I had gasoline in both eyes. that turns out to be nothing but I describe a symtom I have been having since the early 90's. He tells me that what I am having are ophthalmic migraines. this is referenced in my medical records while on active duty but was misdiagnosed by the doctors. He added it to my claim as he found the instances in my medical records. what kind of rating can you get for this. I have the episodes at least once a month which is what I told the C&P examiner. Also in the claim Bilateral knee pain with arthritus diagnosed during active duty with xrays. L…

New C&p
Can a vet receive a new C&P exam if he feels the first was not done correctly? On the C&P form, it clearly states that measurements are to be taken with a goniometer. What if the doctor does not use this to get the degrees for range of motion? Also, can the vet require a second person in the room with he and the examiner? My husband was required to go to the exam room alone despite the fact that he was applying for A&A. The examiner said no one was allowed in the room. Can the veteran not have someone with him to help protect him in this exam?

Mental Health Exam
I just had a Mental Health C&P last month and the results were suppose to be sent to the AMC for decision on an appeal. See thread below for background: I received a letter today from the mental health department at VAMC stating the following: What is strange to me is that my appointments with my treating psychiatrist usually only last 30 minutes or last. Does this have anything to do with the C&P or just a regular appointment. Just asking for opinions, I know no one will know exactly what it is for. It's just very unusual for an appointment to last this long.

ptsd Mental Health Exam
Greetings everyone! It has been SOME time since I have posted on Hadit, but I have been following everyone's walk within our Wonderful VA System - - - Currently I am 70% SC for Migraines (50) Skin Disorders (30), Depression (10). On September 3rd, 2009, I filed a new claim for PTSD, TBI, Hearing Loss & Spinal Injury to my neck & shoulders. That being said, we have passed that Lovely (1) One Year Mark and would like to get everyone's input on what the Examiner's Notes Read... if you don't mind; I'll just write up what they read per the Examiner. PTSD - The veteran does not meet full criteria for PTSD - as he does not meet avoidance criteria But these are g…

Progress Note Questions From C&p Under Bdd
Hello Everyone. I am very close to retiring from the USAF and have completed the exams at the VA. This was under the BDD program. I have several questions concerning these progress notes but i will limit it to 4 for now as I have so many issues. - I cannot cross my legs and this was noted by the doctor. I didnt' specifically claim this on the claim form but it is a problem related to my hips, and that medical problem was claimed on the form. Will the VA include compensation for that problem even if I didn't specifically claim it - but the doctor at the C&P wrote it in the C&P notes? This looks to be a 10% rating. if not, would I include it on another claim in …

Request Doctor Change
This may seem a little odd, but today I received a fedex from QTC informing me who I will see for my exam. I did some research on this person and found out that she was a shrink in the Air Force. I have a real issue with military doctors and shrinks. I do not trust them. Can I request a change? And would they request it? Papa

Plantar Warts
Hello all, A question, but first, 40% SC, shoulders (10each), plantar fascitis (10) and tinnitus (10). 4 other issues were SC but at 0%. Discharged from active duty in August of 08. Date of original C&P exam was in May of 09. Went to a C&P yesterday for an increase in my right shoulder and a new claim for neck pain and for arm pain connected to my right shoulder issue. All arthritis related. EMG was negative. I think the C&P doctor did a good job and will let you know how it pans out. When she started the exam, she asked if I had been to a doctor other than VA since I got out and I told her a month ago for 5 plantar warts removed from my ri…

hypertension Weird C & P Exam
I am 60% sc for kidneys and 10% sc for hypertension but they only give me the 60% rating.I had a C & P exam for a stroke.I found it very strange that the person giving the exam informed me right off the bat that she had worked for workers comp claims. She started off questioning me about why I wasn't on SSI that had nothing to do with the C & P exam concerning my stroke. There was also another lady with her that was supposed to be in training to give C& P exam but she was not dressed in a lab coat or have a name tag. I felt very uneasy with the questions they asked because they had nothing to do with my C&P exam or my sc disability or stroke, they were more …
