ptsd Fictional Medical Documentation
In brief, I'm one of those blessed few who have had a majority of good experiences with my VA providers. But right now, I'm at war due to an incompetent MD in the V.A. emergency room, who could not only diagnose an obvious back problem (even though I was recently post-discectomy), who misdiagnosed me as having a blood clot with no signs or symptoms or relevant history, AND the final straw - refused to send me for an MRI even though I requested one and had many signs and symptoms indicating the need. I pursued outside help, got an MRI, got the emergency surgery I needed to prevent cord damage, and now I'm fighting for payment for the MRI (although it is possible I may …

Receiving A Rating With No C & P Exam?
I am currently rated 30%. I have recently filed for increase in benefits (filed several new claims). About a year ago I was diagnosed by the VA with ulcerative colitis. I went to several QTC C& P exams but not for the ulcerative colitis. I see that IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) is listed as an undiagnosable disease and UC is a form of IBS. I am about to receive a rating for UC and I have never attended a C & P exam for this ailment. I have been in VA hospital in past year for this issue, taking meds for UC all documented by the VA. Does this sound right, receiving a rating for a ailment/disease and never had a C & P exam for it?? Thanks in advance.

C & P Exam Rating Re-Opening Old Claims
Hello, I am a 30% rated veteran. i recently submitted additional (new) claims with the VA. I was informed by the VA that they were re-opening some of my old claims which I have been paid for years. My new claims are just that, new I am not trying to increase old injury ratings. I understand that if the VA re-opens an old claim, if your condition has improved - your rating may go down. During my recent C & P exam the QTC doctor re-examined me for old ratings and found me to be much worse off than I was when given my initial rating. If the VA chooses to re-open a claim (and can reduce your rating) - if you are found to be worse off, can your claim be increased a…

C&p For What
I've had 4 C & P exams over the past and none of the notices I recieved in the mail stated what they where for. Luckily, each time I was claiming one thing so I knew what they were about. I was just wondering, if a Vet had more issues on the same claim, how would you know which issue the exam is for, if not for all? Do you call the 1-800 no. .

Depression
Hello all. I thought I would share some of my expirience so far. I am service connected for IVDS and bladder issues as a result of a collasped disk. I had a fusion done in 08 and got out of the military in 09. I am rated at 80% at this current time. I recently had a C and P for depression secondary to my chronic pain and anxiety issues. I have read that I could claim depresion secondary to my chronic pain, thus claimed it. My C and P was about a week ago. It lasted maybe 20 to 30 minutes. The Doc basically wrote my answers to his questions on blank papers. I have been seen at the VA phyic for around 7 months now. My last gaf that I saw was a 50, dont know if that…

ptsd Which Comes 1St...c&p Or Service Connection Determination
I'm a "newbie" here ...have been "watching" from the back ground...and have gotten a great deal of good information from you guys/gals..Thanx to you all. But...I'm confused about which comes 1st, C&P Exam...or...Determination of Service Connnection...or are they happening at the same time along the claims process??? I filed my claim in Oct of 09 and just had C&P last Fri the 10th. The medical part was quite thorough (Cervical/Lumbar DDD, numbness and lose of control of legs and feet and hands) lasting about an hour or so. Latter in the day I had PTSD Exam and it was a bit confusing...I spent about 30 minutes answering question on a computer...I'll call it a test..…

ptsd Questions About Ptsd C&p
I am new to the forum and this is my first post so if I ramble I am sorry. I have a C&P exam next week for my PTSD and I am beyond nervous. I have looked at most of the post regarding PTSD but I still have a few questions. I was assigned to a Forensic Lab as an investigator / case manager for my year in Iraq and needless to say there was a lot of things that have come back to haunt me about that experience. I have been seeking treatment from the VA for about 15 months for PTSD, Depression and Adjustment Disorder. What should I expect the exam to be like? How much weight does my medical file from my VA doc have? I requested copies of my treatment record and progress…

ptsd Ptsd Exam...alcohol And Ocd Not Connected
Hi all I am applying for C&P. I have already been diagnosed with PTSD, major depression and alcohol dependance through my local VA outpatient psychiatry, with a GAF of 45. I went in for what I thought was a C&P exam for PTSD...only to have the examiner say it was for my sleep problems (nightmares, etc.). He did the full PTSD exam though (MMPI, etc). I guess this is necessary for sleep disorders??? He said that the PTSD info would be included on his report, even though this was not a scheduled C&P PTSD exam. I just got my records and they say this... Axis I - 1. PTSD (claimed sleep problems are considered part of this diagnosis) 2. Alcohol…

C&p Pa Opinion Moot? Whats The Point, Then?
I have my C&P results for radicular numbness and pain for my left extremity (for svc connection), and erectile difficulty. My right leg is already connected (10%, and 40% for IVDS). What is the point of a C&P if the PA's opinion of everything is "clinical record is insufficient......therefore an opinion is rendered moot." Isn't that, kind of, their job? So, im crazy now, or am just not reading it right? So, what does that mean? I don't go to the doctor every time my toe tingles-they can't 'do' anything about it. Same with the PME/erectile difficulty, this was the first time I brought it up (HA!) to my own doc, though my wife typed a statement as well, and my…

Rating Exam - Qtc Or Vamc ?
Was advised that my husbands rating exam will be done at the VAMC rather than a QTC office. It has not yet been scheduled..... His BVA Decision was granted sc, medrecs in the C-file are all current...but, the RO wants to do a rating exam. He had a QTC exam about 2 years ago for this sc condition. Is it logical the VAMC would do the exam rather than QTC ? Is this a faster way of getting the job done...? VLJ said in instructions to expedite, surely they all say that...? We have hardship attached and verified. It was such a let down to win a long battle only to find another mountain in front of us.... Thanks for answers and encouragement - need it rig…

C & P Exam Rescheduled
My general medical exam has been rescheduled from Sept 16 to Oct 26. Is this a common thing, or should I start to worry? Whenever there is a change, I get nervous. papa
