Is back pay warranted in this case?
Long story short. I am currently at 30% for PTSD and have an active appeal in the works. It has been over five years and is in the "waiting on hearing date" status. I just went today to the VA to another c&p for an increase of rating for PTSD. If I get an increase will I automatically be back paid for the difference of five years or do I have to still finish the appeal? The appeal is for increase originally. I hope ole this makes sense.

BVA Remand for PTSD EED
Hello everyone! I have been lurking here for awhile, soaking up the knowledge & appreciating everyone's input. I really like the fact that I do not see fear-based responses to questions about EED appeals when the veteran is rated 100%. I found this to be the case on other sites. I am the spouse of a Navy veteran who became unemployable/disabled in 2006 due to PTSD/bipolar and have been appealing this same decision now for 11 years (all NODs filed timely). The claim has staged ratings now with PTSD/Bipolar being SC as of 2006. Like many claims, it went from 30% to 50% to 70% through the years, increasing after each C&P. Finally, it went to TDIU, then 1…

PTSD C&P - Denial coming How should I proceed?
So, I was diagnosed with PTSD at my VAMC, attend therapy there, take Zoloft, Prazosin & Bupropion. I filed a claim, they verified stressors, sent all my records, buddy statements. I just attended my C&P, doc says no PTSD, granted I stressed how I'm currently affected and should have went into greater detail on stressors....but I was so fuc*ing anxious/nervous. Doc basically said Major Depressive Disorder, present pre-USMC as indicated in my STR's and alluded to alcohol issues...less likely than not therefor due to military service. His basis was that I had problems in 1991, was essentially problem free for decades and then they started 3-5 years ago....so, not rel…

Caluza Triangle questions
Hello everyone, I am seeing a lot on this site about having to have the three steps of the Caluza Triangle to get service connected. I have an NOD in for my PTSD and Migraines. 1.My Private psychologist diagnosed me with PTSD as did my VA Psychiatrist and Provider. 2. I sent in copies of stressors and the VSR even called an had questions about another Stressor that I didn't even have listed that I was involved in. The VA requested more information from my Psychologist and she sent in another 38 pages of treatment records for me. 3. My psychologist also sent in Nexus Letters saying it was more likely than not my PTSD was due to …

I believe I have evidence of the stressor.. suicide attempt but I was told by a few people in 91 and 92 that "men don't get raped son" or "he must have just made a pass at you" which was documented by the psyc guy.. also one njp for telling an e6 to xxxx off...major decline in performance and eval record scores.,,,,followed by admission of homosexuality ...I was confused and wanted to get out so badly...no one believed me. real…

The adversarial VA
Do you feel that the VA is an advocate for the veteran? I do not. I see it as an adversarial relationship. How is it, that a person who has been running from the truth for 25 years from the horror of military sexual trauma, must now go in and try to convince someone who doesn't believe them? Where is my representation? I was Sexually assaulted by a LTCDR DOCTOR in the navy. MY DOCTOR I'm not going to go dance for scraps in front of someone who's going to do a spot assessment to decide a reward that will ensure my family continues to live in poverty. this ruined my life, it led to a car wreck that killed two people and my radio active decay in the interveni…

ptsd PTSD/MDD from MST 25 years ago
Thank god for this community. I thought my military service was ancient history (NAVY 88-93), but it turns out I have lived longer than my capacity to continue running. May I ask for help here in navigating this? I've filed my claim and am on stabilizing medication, but I feel an almost adversarial relationship with the VA and my family is in crisis. Squatting in a falling apart rv on a now estranged friend's property. We have just received a VASH/HUD section 8 voucher and are hopefully getting into a place with plumbing in a few weeks, but our financial crisis will not be helped by our inexperience and naive handling of this claim, not to mention my current…

Weight of a Private Professional Psychologist Medical opinion
What weight would a private psychologist have on my claim for PTSD. The VA keeps ducking saying it was due to childhood trauma. I am trying to get them to admit it exasperated any preexisting condition. I had a Top Secret Clearance from 92 to 96 and would (back n those days) NEVER received it with any hint of mental issues. I feel if I can get a professional to say this into my medical record I might have a fighting chance. I have been denied twice I think. Link for so many of us it has been a long journey... Thoughts? Also does anyone know of a Veteran friendly Private Psychologist in South West Florida?

PTSD- due to MST
Hi, i am new to this so please excuse me if I ramble a bit. I have applied for disability with the VA in January of 2017. I am applying for PTSD - MST depression and anxiety secondary to ptsd also hypertension secondary to ptsd. I also have a claim for bilateral knee problems from a misdiagnosed knee problem from boot camp. I am frustrated by the whole process, but I guess I can only blame myself. The knee injury occurred in 1979 and the MST from 1980-82. I never knew I could get help for my knee years ago. I assumed that you had to retire from the service to use the VA. I am seeing a therapist with the VA and a psychiatrist with the VA. My bp has been out of …

MST/PTSD Claim and medication
What impact do you think my MST/PTSD claim will have because I am not on any meds for anxiety or depression. The only medication I was on was Xanax for my anxiety and panic attacks and my neurologist told me to stop taking my Xanax because I have such severe memory and concentration issues. I am on a very low dose which he knows and that I needed to take the meds because it is the only thing to this point that helps my panic attacks or recover more quickly from one. I am not on any depression meds. because I will not take them due to having suicidal thoughts when I tried them two times in my past. I did think of killing myself...I had and "urge" to kill myself and tha…

ptsd PTSD secondary to MST filed
Mailed off my PTSD secondary to MST on Monday. I don't know where to go from here. My life is falling apart around me. My marriage is on the rocks, my work is suffering. I've been in therapy at my VAMC for 2 years now. I don't know if I will survive. I got a letter that the VA wants to reduce my back...I can't deal with that, and this...and I'm at my breaking point. On January 23rd my life changed forever. I had sexual assault reporting and prevention training at work a few days earlier, which triggered my memories. They had been blocked. I had always thought what happened was consensual gay sexual activity...at least that's what that predator had told me he wo…
