Ptsd claim
Two years ago my husband was diagnosed PTSD from a veterans contract psychologist. Although he is 66 years old, and the Vietnam war has long been over for decades his symptoms did not appear until he became sober five years ago when he quit the alcohol. He never actively seemed help for his alcoholism because he was self medicating. The psychologist send him to a va psychiatrist for medication. Both doctors believe his ptsd was caused by the anxiety of being on standby to deploy to Vietnam for 5 months. He started drinking heavily while in Okinawa and by the time he was discharged he was already an alcoholic. To make a long story short, he filed a claim with VA. Of …

MILTARY POLICE TORTURED ME
I was ordered by my CO not to consume alcohol. I disobeyed orders and did so. The military police forcefully removed me from my quarters and placed me in a cell at Wiesbaden Army Base, Germany. While asleep, I was awakened by an intense burning sensation on my upper leg. I suffered first and second degree burns when the military police poured an unknown liquid on me while I lay asleep in bed in that cell. The psychological impact of being tortured will never go away. My PTSD claim was denied, with not even a mention of this incident. I recently was hospitalized for suicidal ideations. Called the VA trying to get a mental health care…

decision
I recently had a c and p exam. This is what I reported to the psych. Any idea on where I stand? Medications – I am unable to function without my medications Care for myself – my wife has to constantly remind me to do things for myself like take my medications. I need to go to the dentist bc I have a cracked tooth but I keep putting off going to the dentist bc it isn’t important to me. My wife mentioned that I am forgetful by doing things like forgetting our baby in our car constantly, unable to watch our child alone, not checking to make sure my stepson has his coat and lunch for school. My wife pointed out that im horrible at grooming myself by constantl…

How to OBTAIN C-FIle??
Do any of the wizards on here know how to obtain his/her own C-File???? WHY: I recently conducted my five year since retirement C&P for PTSD. I didn't get a copy (imagine that). It was so scripted, and I am concerned on the examiner's opinion/input. I want to be ready for my next tactical move; however, without the Intel, I have no idea how to maneuver/prepare. I would be happy to elaborate on the conduct of the exam, i.e., questions asked, setting, and situation as it pertained to me, etc. Many thanks in advance for any wisdom!! GB

PTSD Comp and Pen report
So I completed my exam for my PTSD claim about a month ago. i just logged on to myhealthvet and read through the report. It states that I do not have PTSD because I didnt meet all the criteria, but they have diagnosed me with Other Specified Trauma- and Stressor-Related Disorder, adjustment-like disorder with prolonged duration of more than six months without prolonged duration of stressor?? I will copy and paste my complete report below, but my main question is; will my whole claim for PTSD be denied because technically i do not have a diagnoses for this or will they adjust based on the new diagnoses? Any information will help thanks in advance. SECTION I: -…

Got a call for C and P, what do I expect?
Hi Everyone, I filed for PTSD back in 2015, they denied it because half my records were lost, didn't have a C and P. I filed an NOD in 2016 and they called yesterday to set up a C and P. I can now prove without my missing records I was at the place of where my stressor occurred, I also provided the VA with DBQ's as well as Nexus letters from my personal Psychologist as well as treatment records. I have also been being treated at the VA for a few years now for PTSD as well. My questions are, can I bring copies of the DBQ's that my Psychologist filled out as well as Nexus letters linking my military service to my PTSD to my C and P exam? Will they help with…

Just looking for input
Hello, I've utilized this site many times looking through other people's questions and gaining incite from those. This is the first time I've posted a question myself and I'm not really sure what I'm asking for to begin with. I guess I'm just hoping for a little input. A little background: I've had claims in for 5 years now. My initial C&P exam concluded that my mental issues were the result of alcohol abuse, not PTSD, hence the first of the two C&P exams I'll list here. I guess a good question would be does anyone think the initial C&P will carry more weight than these? I don't have a copy of it and didn't know that was the conclusion until I went to my curre…

Denied then rated later
I filed a claim for PTSD back in 2014 and then had my C&P. At the C&P the outside VA examiner asked multiple questions and focused on my upbringing (which was good) and my Father almost insinuating that my MST really is from my Father. When I left there I was completed traumatized because of the line of questioning and that he didn't even ask about my military time and shortly after I was denied. At the same time I had already been diagnosed by my VA Mental health Dr and through a MST coordinator. I got the denial shortly after and because I was so upset just did nothing since I didn't want to go through it again. I still went to the VA for treatment and then 2017…
