ptsd When Ssdi Can Nip You In The Bud And Can Hurt Your Iu Claim, My Story!
Please read my 4th and 5th entry posted today 8/28/13 In this topic :( :( If I didn't have SSDI they would have just looked solely at my employment history Instead they looked at ssdi found two things listed they say aren't service connected, (which one is and part of my PTSD) the other was appeal and ruled out already, but said those two things are the only factors to me being unemployable Yet saying I am unemployable just not service connected All my ssdi is from just my medical records from va and military and all service connected, the personality was mentioned once by a therapist, and it's haunted me for years, going into yet another appeal for it, I won …

tdiu New Letter Says 21-4192 Sent To Employers Are My Responsibility!
Got a 5103, check the box sent it in, that was last week, and I saw on ebenny that 21-4192 were sent to my former employers, reading the fast track letter I saw that "IMPORTANT: Do not deny TDIU evaluations solely because an employer failed to return a completed VA Form 21-4192" but just got another letter that says "Even thou we have asked for this information, it is your responsibility to see that VA recieves it (except for any evidence kept by the VA, military or any other federal government agency)." SO does this mean I should contact my former employees and try to figure out where this letter was sent to and have them send it in, or give it to me to send …

tdiu What Are They Actually Going By For Unemployability
When I read the reg on IU...to me, they are saying that you must be unable to get substancial employment. Now....If I am say a doctor with 8 yrs of college, 10 years experience and at the top of my game making $500k year and all of a sudden I am injured and can no longer work in my chosen speciality, lets say neurosurgen..but I am able to work as a GP making 100k a year....would this be substancial employment? If I was a college graduate as a lab tech...making 80k a year, become unable to work as a lab tech, but can work as a medical assistant at 35k....is that substancial employment??? The way I read the reg, neither case would be considered substancial employme…

ptsd C&p Notes- Looks Like Tdiu Will Be Denied
Well it looks like TDIU will be denied. I'm still on "Gathering evidence" but I picked up my C&P progress notes and here is a few points. GAF- 52 Difficulty in establishing and maintaining effective work and social relationships. Difficulty in adapting to stressful circumstances, including work or a work like setting. The PTSD symptoms described above cause clinically significant distress or impairment in social, occupational, or other important areas of functioning. THEN the big denial- From the standpoint of the veterans PTSD alone, veteran should be able to obtain and maintain gainful employment in the sedentary and physical sectors. So that shoul…

ptsd If I Get My Tdiu Approved Then... ?
Assuming my TDIU gets approved.( currently 70% PTSD ) Then can I also apply to get SSDI or SMC? What should my next step be after my TDIU goes through? Is that it or is there more things I qualify for? I will be very grateful and appreciative of the TDIU rate of compensation but if I qualify for something further then I will go ahead and pursue it. I can't figure out from reading on here if you can get TDIU first then go ahead and apply for SSDI.

tdiu New Here, Have Tdiu Filing Questions.
Just found this site while looking for VA compensation answers. Hopefully someone can give me some opinions and logic behind them. So to start with: 1. Just received closure on most pending claims and received a total of 80% rating....60% for IHD 2. I am planning on filing TDIU claim. 3. Also have one issue needs a NOD 4. have one pending issue 5. have one new contention to file for. Here are my questions. Since I am filing TDIU, if approved, makes the other stuff not so important, as would have my 100% Nothing in the other claims would effect DIC as they are minor ailments. Nothing I will die from. So, OPTION 1. Should I file the TDIU and let the other st…

ptsd What Are My Chances?
I am 70% disabled. 0% NHL, 20%PN, 10% ears,50%PTSD. I filed for PTIU, however I took early retirement at age 62. I am 66 years of age now. I already receive regular SS benefits, Teachers Retirement. I took early retirement because I have a compromised immune system secondary to non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. It is rated at 0%. I filed a NOD for the 0% rating recently. How good are my chances to receive TDIU? I have 2 doctors statements(IMO), also have the school district to complete the VA form, stating my reason for separation. I can't work in the public anymore, I get sick with infection after another, the last was mononuceosis that lasted for months. Along with the doct…

ptsd Denied 3Rd Iu Claim Due To Typo
I have a strange issue with the third IU claim that I had put in for and was denied. I have searched for examples of what I am going through and haven't found any which makes this more frustrating. I was denied my third IU claim last June and I was at my whit’s end because all the evidence was there, but they did give me a 10% increase from 80 to 90. I figured that I it just wasn't meant to be and then tried Voc Rehab because I can't do what the Army trained me to do because of my injuries. Voc Rehab put me through tests and then three months ago told me that due to my disabilities that they thought IU was a better choice. I explained that I had tried three times already …

tdiu Fastestinthewest - New Member Needing Help
A letter was sent out to All VA Regional Offices on June 13, 2013, talking about TDIU. The letter was addressed to All Veterans Service Center Personnel and the subject Claims for Total Disability Based on Individual Employability (TDIU). The Rescission of Training Letter 10-07 was rescinded effective immediately. My question is that if a veteran had a claim in before June 13, 2013, would then the new procedures apply to the claim being processed? Does that mean a 2 year old claim goes back to the bottom?
