RAMP letter received!
Hello and good afternoon;I was wondering if anyone else has received this letter regarding the new RAMP program? I spoke to my representative and we are going to Opt-In for my particular appeals situation. We opted for the "higher level" review. Anyone else gotten this letter and Opt-In? Process says 125 days average for a decision. My appeal was submitted back in December 2016 regarding EED's on my awards. We did not opt to have an informal conference either. The letter is worth reading! EDIT: I removed my letter for personal reasons. If you want to know more, message me

Agent Orange
Unfortunately VA do not recognize my seizure disorder as a agent orange problem but it has been noted in record by hundreds of veterans who have been exposed to Agent Orange

TDIU Question
Provided one qualifies for TDIU within the 40-70 disability rule or greater........is it wiser to go for the TDIU claim first and then later on add the P &T........or do you have as equally a good chance with strong IMOs and disability factors to seek TDIU with P&T claim right at DRO Hearing. Just curious if TDUI is more likely granted if P&T is not added initially but say 6 months-1 year later? Has anyone here applied for a claim of TDIU with P&T initially?

Appeal ? for the heavyweights
Dear Hadit- EED granted at BVA, sent to RO for rating. RO rated PTSD w/Bipolar Disorder at 70% effective 11/20/2003 I believe IU should have been awarded as my SSDI records and award reasonably raise the issue of IU which wasn't considered. Will this need to go to CAVC or back through the NOD process at the RO? I'm getting conflicting answers from DAV and peggy etc... P.S. SSDI was awarded 5 months prior to 11/20/03 solely on my service connected bipolar.

Effective date questioned
I was recently awarded 100% disability, and the effective date went back to when I first took a stress test to evaluate my heart problems, 12 months earlier. My question is: while looking at my EKG, both my cardiologist and my primary care provider commented that it showed that I had a heart attack as far back as 2013. Should I file an appeal as to the effective date using the EKG that clearly states " Inferior infarct (cited on or before 10-May-2013)"? I don't want to appear greedy, or "rock the boat", but don't want to walk away from money on the table if it's there. Thanking you in advance for any help on this.

disability examination Finally DRO moving forward, but got questions about appointment letter
Been quite awhile since I posted anything... (Last post was this Been in that hurry up and wait limbo status that everyone hates, but after 630 on appeal via DRO process (average time was somewhere between 311 and 400 days I think) I finally receive a letter informing me that I have a disability examination. Since this is my first time through this part of the process I would like some simplified translation of what all of this means. At face value it looks as if it means they are going to look at my records and do an exam. But I also, understand that some of these individuals aren't really working in the best interest of the vet. This fact pretty much …

helping a retired vet.
I have a few questions about helping a retired U.S. Army Veteran (Rank E-9) In part of our phone conversation last night(I know I need to ask him more questions) and Last night I had him request his C-FILE because his VSO never mention this he didn't know what a C-FILE Was. he has a VSO but he don't like him because the VSO won't call or answer his questions and is slow about things. Anyway He retired in 1989 he just found out that when he went through his seperation exams he was S.C. at 0 % for hearing loss, he took another hearing test recently at his VAMC and the audiologist mention that he has some severe hearing loss and that he showed to be…

Developing to Deny for sure
I have to say I don’t really have a question YET, but I wanted to share my story as It makes for an interesting read. Feel free to comment… In 1987 I was medically discharged from the Army for Subluxing Bicep tendon Bilateral. I went to the VA and they agreed and issued 10% rating for each shoulder. In 1993 I had a C&P Exam and I was all better so they say and reduced it to 0% in each shoulder. Now keep in mind nothing was on the internet because it didn’t exist and I was young and uninformed so it never occurred to me to get my medical exams. I knew something was still wrong as I lived with shoulder problems since then. Lets fast forward to 2013 when…

Copy of DBQ. Looking for insight?
Im currently service connected at 50% for panic with anxiety and depression. This is for an increased rating. I'm not working right now and receive SSDI. I applied for an increase in 2016 and was kept at 50%. I didn't pursue it further because I felt like their reasoning was sound. This time I know things have gotten worse and will appeal it to the full extent necessary. Any thoughts would be helpful. ----------------Axis 1: Panic Disorder, Bipolar II disorderAxis 2: NoneAxis 3: Chronic Pain due to facial traumaAxis 4: Problems in realtionshipsAxis 5: 32Occupational and Social Impairment:Occupational and social impairment with deficincies in most areasSymptoms…

Question on "as likely" medical opinion
I have received an IMO exactly stating as follows.......Veteran's _______is at least as likely as a result of his service related development of ___________. My question..... is this strong enough to pass VA muster on Appeal without the "or not" included...... or do I need a redo with the " as not" included before submitting? I am unclear if this was a simple misstep, or if it was was meant to be opinioned that very way. Perhaps "as likely" may be even stronger - not really sure so asking? Any feedback appreciated.
