Received the laziest, least accurate SSOC ever
Just received an SSOC denial for my claim. So, originally my claim was for worsening Raynaud's syndrome, which started in the military. After my first C&P exam and some research I connected the dots that my symptoms were due to an in service cold injury. My appeal had been based around the fact that my Raynaud's and other symptoms are actually a cold injury. Lots of evidence, a NOD, a form 9, about a half dozen statements in support of claim. My just received SSOC didn't even bother to address anything having to do with cold injuries. It just denied an increased Raynaud's rating because my latest C&P exam shows that my Raynaud's hasn't gotten wors…

How does it look for my BVA appeal to you?
I looked at my C-File and the reason they denied my sinusitis was that they said I had no treatment for it in my medical records. In one of my medical records it shows that I told my doctor I had sinusitis. The doctor didn't treat me for it after I told him about it. So the VA says because the doctor didn't treat me for sinusitis that it doesn't matter if I mentioned I had it. At my C&P exam the doctor said it was more likely than not that my sinusitis was caused during basic training. The C&P doctor said also that I had allergic rhinitis. On my last claim I applied for rhinitis and they denied that too. The C&P doctor years before then said that my rhinitis w…

Dependent Issue
Not entirely sure where to post this but here goes, So I am not well versed in the dependent side of the VA, but I am very good at keeping track of my paperwork of what I have received and also sent to the VA. I currently received a full award from the BVA and am just waiting for my RO to make their judgements on everything. When I first left the service I received my initial award two months later (early Va program). My RO at the time was still Winston-Salem, I received a letter August of 2011 asking for my updated dependency status. At this time I was going through a divorce and in September when it was finalized I sent a copy of my dissolution to the Winston-Salem RO …

Effective date of claim
I have a pending appeal that I am fighting and need some help is determining the appropriate date of claim. I had an increase in symptoms of my cold injury and submitted a claim in February, 2012. In March 2012 the VA sent me a request to schedule a C&P exam, which, due to being unable to contact the scheduler for 2 weeks (they were somehow "busy" that entire time) the exam request expired. I contacted the VA by phone and by letter concerning this but was refused a new exam because I missed the first exam "without just cause." I received a denial of my claim in August, 2012 and notified the VA of their failure concerning the missed C&P exam…

Outline of appeal & request for advice
Good day all, I am currently waiting to receive a copy of the SSOC relating to my case, which means I was denied again. I am looking forward to having a competent person review my case as I believe it to be well grounded and well documented. I am asking any of you who are interested, to review what I provide below and provide feedback and potential avenues to a successful appeal. Basis of appeal: Service connection for a cold injury Facts: I suffered a non-freezing cold injury while in Marine Combat Training in 1997/1998. I was service connected for Raynaud’s in 2002, based on an in service diagnosis of Raynaud’s Had…

Reconsideration after SSOC
I would like to know if it's possible to request a reconsideration of a claim following an SSOC. My claim just had an SSOC issued, and while I haven't received it yet, since it's an SSOC they denied my claim. Here's the background:. While in the military I sustained a cold injury. Years later, still in the military, I was diagnosed with Raynaud's (which can be caused by a cold injury.). The VA is not service connecting my disability as a cold injury because did not get medical attention for the original injury. That's my primary fight with the VA, but there is a second evaluation method that the VA had been completely ignoring. In 2012 I started getting…
