Google crawls the site it crawls the web. There have been no new users on the board since the end of august because i have not had time to review and approve them i hope to get to this next week. Guest cannot view member profiles
  2. i think i'm just brain dead, but i had a vet tell me that someone told them if they say they are sending you an SSOC it means you were turned down. is this true?
  3. that will be sweet :D congratulations on your win and i sure know what you mean about the good feeling you get helping your troops
  4. welcome aboard i don't belong to any service organizations, however if i was looking to join one i'd call and ask for sample of their recent magazine, post or chapter newsletters and i'd ask to go to couple of meetings to see if it serves your needs. i've used service officers from vva, dva, legion and it seemed to really depend on the individual service officer also check out member benefits discounts and such that each offer speaking of discounts you may want to look at veteransadvantage.com it's strictly for discounts and not a service organization but a discount is still money in your pocket.
  5. wings at the bottom you can choose a the Larger Text Format and it will work better for you.
  6. glad you like them, trying to ship them as soon as we get the order, if they are in stock. we are down to about 6 caps now so it's time to make a decision on whether to order more or not.
  7. glad you like and yes, ponytails i see would be easier if there was spot for them if i sell all the ball caps i may be able to offer some visors many of our women veterans have emailed me saying they would like a visor got t-shirts, bumper stickers and buttons you can find them here http://www.cafepress.com/hadit and ball caps and lapel pins can be ordered at http://www.hadit.com/haditlogoshop.htm
  8. welcome aboard! glad you found us, i believe you are probably rated at a special monthly compensation rate which is your 100% plus your housebound i think it's around 2700 for a single veteran these days. i am truly sorry to hear you are dealing with a terminal illness and sincerely hope we can provide some guidance and support to you. do you have a service officer? like berta said i would be all over them about asking to be permanent, also i would check into aid and attendance if your disabilities warrant it. don't forget about social security if you haven't applied for it, do it now. different states have different rules here is a link to the florida department of veterans affairs they list their benefits on the site and i think if you haven't been yet you may find it useful http://www.floridavets.org/
  9. you can also view up to date case loads here VBA Monday Morning Reports http://www.vba.va.gov/bln/201/reports/mmrindex.htm
  10. i'm up for it! now where to get the data? i understand you don't want numbers of caseloads, more like first you file a claim and it goes here and here and there like that right?
  11. hoppy glad you like it, i think the elastic band is nice also, no plastic tab, or buckles to mess with just put it on and go. i like simple

  13. also helpful VA Law References http://www.hadit.com/library/law/lawindex.htm U.S.C. United States Code U.S.C.A. United States Code Annotated U.S.C.S. U.S. Code Service C.F.R. Code of Federal Regulations United States Code is the law and the U.S.C. is the governments official copy of the code. U.S.C.A. contain everything that is printed in the official U.S. Code but also include annotations to case law relevant to the particular statute. Like the U.S.C.A., the U.S.C.S. contains everything that is printed in the official U.S. Code but also include annotations to case law relevant to the particular statute. The C.F.R. is the interpretation of the law. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Confusing Right? Just remember the U.S.C. is the law, the C.F.R. is how they interpret the law and last but certainly not least is the V.A. adjudication manuals that is how they apply the law. The section of the law that covers the veterans benefits is Title 38 in the U.S.C. in the C.F.R. is usually written 38 C.F.R. or something similar, V.A. frequently requested manuals are listed below. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- VA M-21 Compensation and Pension Manual VA M-21-4 C & P Authorization Procedures VA M28-3 Vocational Rehabilitation Internal Control in Vocational Rehabilitation and Counseling VA M29-1 VBA Insurance Operations Manual

  16. patrick i agree we all hope for something that will tell us which way the wind is blowing, but there really isn't any one thing you can hang your hat on. the gaf helps give the va and therapist a tool to see how you are doing. but there is no magic number, wish there was.

  18. i have done some testing along with two volunteers from hadit.com and the general consesus seems to be that the sort for va claims research should be changed to the following order Sort Key: Date of Last Post Sort Order: Descending (Z-A, 0-10) so i will implement this change and we can see how it works for everyone.
  19. you may find this useful it lays out the gaf scale http://www.hadit.com/gaf.htm
  20. wishing you nothing but smooth rides from now on. very happy for you!
  21. david my 2 cents - always be honest, never stop taking your meds unless your doc tells you to, prescriptions written to you are a clean test, however i understand what you are saying i believe you are not worried about failing the drug test, you are worried that if they find out the type of drugs you are on they may be hesitant to give you the job, well david i would not be surprised that many folks you would work with may be taking xanax or something similar. i think what i would do is bring my prescirptions in with me for the drug test so they can make a note of it. it's possible that the result the employer gets is just pass/fail and not a list of drugs found. i could be wrong, i know this is very anxiety producing for you right now, but remember if you aren't upfront right from the get go, you will have anxiety all the time that they might find out. so i don't know if this helps, but i hope it does
