  1. The woman in charge of the program has been relocated to another program, and magically the program starts working for the hospital again...
  2. So apparently you can receive both benefits so I applied to both 3 days apart. Now with the Aid and Attendance I foresee months away and the caregiver program 2 weeks altogether with my answer/decision Friday. Why is it the hospital can move with way more effectiveness then the disability system? Seems a bit one sided and unfair...
  3. Had official interview done at my home with my spouse. She said I definitely qualify and should be receiving more help soon and my spouse can do her training in a couple of weeks. So basically the previous manager told me not to apply was wrong and I should have applied almost two years ago, word to the wise in case your told not to apply. If you feel you meet the requirements just apply get a formal decision. Don’t let your ego be bruised if you need help. Thanks again for the other that told me to go ahead and apply.
  4. I actually walked into the philly RO and went to the disability claims area. Not sure if this is an option for you but I actually was able to speak with the DRO who did the hearing for my status. That’s your best answer to when you will hear your results. No one can give an accurate estimate to many factors like the amount of retro that’s due how many disabilities on on this DRO appeal.
  5. So I’m confused why the put an estimated completion date on claims now but give it a window mine is 1/8 to 2/5? It has been my luck that the first date when missed puts a flag on my claim saying something is missed and claim moves again. But it’s like the dates mentioned are like there suspense dates on your claims with the expectations of ever completing them by the window. Anyone else with similar experiences to the ebenefits worm hole....
  6. Don’t know who your state senator is but reaching out to him or her about your SSA issues and having a congressional inquiry placed on your file also gets it moving tremendously. From start to finish it took me 11 months and as a 32 year old that incredibly quick. I reached out to the senator and made sure I had it flagged as a P and veteran...
  7. Not just 100% but more specifically Permanent and total not just scheduler to be eligible for ChampVa
  8. Thanks everyone for the info it’s what I thought , but one quick question since I am very impulsive when it comes to decisions I make. Not saying it could happen but a hypothetical question what if one of those impulsive decisions could hurt me how is anyone going to say hey his judgement skills are impaired and I think it could have been caused by his impulsive decision making ability due to my sTBI if it were fatal. I have 8 more years until the ten year mark but I just want to make sure my impulsive ladder doesn’t take me up a 15 foot ladder and fall again.
  9. So anyone get the feeling when you go your family is going to suffer from the VAs corrupt system? I had a severe TBI and to this day fight t get what my family deserves and my wife isn't well versed with VA law has no idea if I die what she is owed but I still I don't know. I have been P and T only for going on 3 years have the 10k life insurance policy not sure how to get more and I'm currently seeking aid and attendance not just SMC S, Is there anything left I should be looking into for my family who has DEA benefits and ChampVA. I just want to make sure they are good to go when I go which could be awhile but id rather get my ducks in a row for them. So they know who they need to ask when the time comes....
  10. Have you ever spoken. With The AMO now AMC about your issues (202) 530-9149 or (202) 530-9455 one is the director there who maybe able to answer your issues. Not sure which one it was or if they have been changed since this past June but your welcome to try...
  11. Happy New Years to all hopefully the VA process keeps improving like I think it has these last couple years and no one falls threw any cracks, just be glad if you do you have stumble upon Hadit.
  12. Well sadly I have seen this with me but 3 out of 4 times it was a denial. But it being the holidays and updates on Ebenefits isn’t so reliable I would say what to get the decision letter if you’ve waited longer then ten days since the notice has been sent make a Regional Office visit see if they can print you an official copy if that’s an option.
  13. I’m on the same boat except they denied the first one with the expire 21-2680 and said they couldn’t find records in my file for my claim about two months ago, so my Doctor filled out the new one and I’ve been preparation for a decision since 12/18 with a completion date of 1/8-2/5. I’d get the new one filled out and submitted in with the pending claim instead of waiting for them to pull a fast one but that’s just my opinion...
  14. Same here my whole family hads Military ID cards along with ChampVA, but we will see I’m still Prep for a decision since the 18th. Completion date 1/8/2019. I’m not worried about being reduced after my recent increase went through for my migraines after 2 years to 50% and all of my treatment records...
  15. They sent me to 3 TBI review since June 2016 and 2 for PTSD combined them. I get so annoyed
  16. Ok one does it show in your claims history, two is there a new listed disability on your disablity page. Do you have a vets.gov account you can sometimes get a better feel for what and where it is? That’s just a couple of hints also if a new claims opens up and says attorneys fees if you have one.
  17. Even if I’m already Permanent and total with no future exams? They sent me to an exam labeled Aid and Attendance but was denied bc I had no 21-2680 in my records so I filed a new claim with a 21-2680. And also at the same time me and my spouse applied for the caregiver program the program manager is doing a home visit on Thursday so of course setting my wife off on how can they invade our privacy when I said I think they inspect our rooms should have just said I don’t know because I don’t i was guessing. Also my sarcasm is the death of me when it comes to trying to be appropriate at the right time.
  18. When filing my new claim I am used it moving forward then back but as of this new FDC claim but it’s been in preparation for a decision since Dec 18 2018. Now I know it jumps to here then back to gathering like it has several times for me in the past but they have nothing to gather. I have already uploaded the 21-2680 application and I know in my records from two months ago I had a C and P for aid and attendance so nothing I am assuming should be required. My claim is only for the aid and attendance not really sure how quick or slow this moves? It’s End is 1/9 to 2/8 but we know that means nothing which is why I’m asking?
  19. Soo I wasn’t SC for vertigo but I’m sure that’s the C and P this disability fell under but I’m service connected for Dizziness and lightheadedness at 30% with my 100% TBi
  20. If I could just say do not wait and at least get the ball rolling, after that one year hits filing CUE is your only option and allot harder to prove and time consuming. So don’t wait to file your NOD to at least solidify your appeal in time...
  21. Update that manager that was in charge is now leaving the program. And the new director called to tell me she is looking into my application and will contact my wife on Friday with what is going to happen, if a home visit is warranted or not. Sooo what the heck do they look at in my home just curious? I had the sleep apnea guy come out here and hook up my Cpap next to our bed.
  22. Geez my first claim took about 17 months when I applied and they sent me to a C and P and never told me to have a 21-2680 filled by my doctor. So I just opened a new claim with the application so when if and when it’s granted I can always fix the effective date in an appeal. So I will be getting the new rate as I wait my time for an appeal is and was my thinking.
  23. Now I know it can hope quickly under FDC and go to various stages here and there. But I have filed a claim for SMC twice and never had my primary doctor fill out the 21-2680 bc being oblivious to what the VA wants and their own C P examiner saying it wasn’t needed I didn’t have my doctor fill it out. So now I know after the first denial get one filled out filed claim on the 12th and it’s already in Preparation for a decision. I know that’s usually a indicator denial from my past occurrences with them but this time it’s got me wondering they know have the SMC aid and attendance application and can see my areas where I need it. So that being said has anyone had a Aid and Attendance application go through quickly? Estimate end date is Jan-Feb. 2019
  24. Shouldn’t be to much longer but I know it’s the holidays so I don’t want to build you up to fail for Christmas
