  1. I was on this path for 2 years fighting to separate them. There is nothing you can do I know allot of people will say yes you can or actually have them separate due to each being low percentage. But like in my case their doctors separated the symptoms of each my TBI and PTSD and also assigned a percentage to each 70% TBI and 30% PTSD but they decided that if it’s combined residuals of a tbi with PTSD symptoms assigned it 100% P and T rating. I have multiple other disabilities that would put me at 100% but the P and T apparently is better and requires no more exams. So I’m done fighting wasting my families time and life. What’s your endgame goal?

What I don’t understand is that the attorney called me and ssa did and I said no. But I’m better safe then sorry it is nice to have a piece of mind at 33 I have a. Long life to make it for my family before they can get DIC benefits which I believe I i have a good amount of years left to be guaranteed for them. We have been married for 8 years two kids 4 and 4 and I’ve been permanent and total since Nov. 2016? Is it 20 years at P and T or 10? I can remember

It’s always the first question they ask I just got my issued ID card. It actually says it began in May. I just didn’t want to get in trouble for having it from May-July which apparently i should have said yes but I didn’t have the actual card with the number on it until the beginning of August snail mail.... thought mail delays was a VA thing not a SSA

Ok I said no and they signed me up for it anyways so then there’s that...
  5. Sorry I didn’t list more info I’m 100 P and T SMC S and SSDI awarded in under a year. The Five year old has a late birthday she’s actually only four and won’t be five till late in the year. I’ve looked into the head start program but dragging two kids in Social Services was to much after the long wait times and the people in there are coughing everywhere my son got sick last year after i made the attempt. Also apparently in Delaware we didn’t qualify the woman listed all of my sources of income she took my SSA and VA disability along with my wife’s part time job. And even though I have them a medical letter from my doctor as a need based on that. I gave up trying but again my children were running amuck in the building and are better behaved not great as my son whose 2 is listened better then my 4 year old daughter lol... also I do stay home with the children but to begin next years treatment plan I would like to do it without children which is what I had to do the last two years and my treatment instead of progressing either stayed the same or regressed due to multiple bathroom breaks and feeding. My mortgage is not fun it’s now gone up to 2391 a month even with a property tax exemption in Delaware I fought for for all disabled veterans in New castle county and will finally go back down to something more sustainable until next year so four more months of this won’t break us but I won’t my daughter on the track she’s to smart for me lol she says daddy can I play with my tablet and watch the tv simultaneously. I laughed I said you got ten minutes for using the word and using it correctly what they taught her in pre-K was amazing, I have reached out to PenFoundation who paid her first year of pre-K not knowing what the cut off date was for her, so she has go another year of Pre-K out of pocket and with my son.
  6. So it’s the beginning of a new year new fear of going broke affording care for my children 5 and 2. But have been lucky to take the summer off from my regular treatment plan to focus on them. So I have been searching around and looking and now I can send both to one school in particular for 450 a month both of them part time so I am a Able to plan my treatment when they are in school begins in September. This is an incredible price for two kids last year I had to get grants to send just my daughter to a different school which was 1200 a month fulltime just for her. Sadly bad timing had I used it on this school I would be fine but I think they said I max out their grants after two years. I’m 100 % P and T for my Residuals of a tbi and was wondering if anyone on her knows of anyone or any program out to help with my situation to help afford their care? It’s tight tight tight right now but we have our roof and food and a car hopefully for awhile so I’m grateful for that... thank you in advance
  7. I’m sorry I hate to say I tried for years to separate them I went as so far as to have the doctor rate each other separately at the exam by which disability attributed to the level of my total disability my PTSD he said was responsible for 50% of my total 100 percent and stated my memory condition is 100 attributed to my sTBI. But when it came to the final rating I got a letter stated no separate disability and ptsd was still a symptom of my TBI even though the cause of each where two separate conditions the ptsd was caused prior to my sTBI . But somehow the fact the ptsd is chronic which was made permanent to the TBI which is how they grouped it together this is all just something to keep in mind when the doctors talk to you...
  8. Honestly I know the norm response would be sorry it is what it is. But as most are unfamiliar on emailing their local congressman and speaking to them about your situation. They sometimes do help but putting in an inquiry on your file this has been my most effective way that I got my claim moving. Just google your area and your local senators office... at the worst they say we will look into it and give you a naw or ya just have to be polite and explain your delays and if it does or is causing you a hardship...
  9. Yes exactly I have post traumatic headaches serviced connected at 50% not until last year had I not continued to fight my 0% intial rating and 100 for my residuals of my sTBI but only because I pushed and ask why....
  10. You can’t receive them both for the dependents each dependent receiving ch35 gets deducted as a dependent....
  11. I can’t remember what number it it which is the part about If you can work and what not due to your disability that’s the biggest factor in my experience is
  12. I’m telling you if you want to fight my doctor differentiated my symptoms of each dx sTBI and ptsd and then also put the percentage of which contributed to each and still lumped it together but made me 100% P and T for my TBi
  13. I like the BVA decisions but I’ve actually had better luck with google playing around with searching exact phrases in “.@@@@“ that your searching with also veteran appeal. But it gets frustrating hours of searching, I have had my share of wasted time doing this but oddly it did end up paying off, whether it being dumb luck a win is always still a win however you get across the finish line.
  14. I am not disagreeing with the above statement but rather adding that exceptions have and are made if your in some sort of hardship and or you have a congressional inquiry flagged on your file....
  15. Phones are like another way they can send you a denial and say F U always go in person they won’t ever give you a straight answer on the phone...they do that you asked the front help not the C and P people who can and will if they don’t call VES and they’ll tell you how to get it I don’t understand how each veteran is a case by case excuse to delay the access to their exam
  16. Its not really that bad more or less waiting for someone’s last signature delays but go and ask I had to wait two weeks for both of mine after they were completed.
  17. Sorry some times I get a little overzealous when I skim read and answer but don’t call the 1800 number if it’s easy to go to your RO just walk in and ask the person at the desk for compensation and disability claims
  18. You are right it’s that if your C and P was done at the Hospital they print it but I believe you have to wait ten days and VeS exams you can’t have any current pending appeal with the exam I think you can have a pending claim, but you still have to wait two weeks after the exam. Just ask the guy at the RO when you can get get a copy theyll tell you on spot..
  19. I’m sure it was said but you go to your local VA hospital records department and they have you hand fill out the request I think I had to wait ten days after the exam for them to print out the records on the spot..
  20. Also if you go on Ebenefits and you look up your letters Benefits summary letter it will tell you on the bottom of its P and t just take a look or also click on the commissary benefit letter will state your P and T if it’s so.
  21. Now I don’t have issue with a veteran getting what it’s deserves from serving. So this may sound like a scam to get the lawyers a pay out but at the same time if your hearing is damaged and the VA says it can’t figure out what caused it and denies it this should help support your claim. If you served from 04-15 and we’re deployed or hell if you still have the plugs like me... you should get a IMO to explain the recall and your hearing problems it’s not rocket science for the doctor but the VA will just look like a deer in headlights with a denial waiting if you don’t have some form of evidence waiting and if your off to your C and P bringing evidence about the recall could be extremely weighted evidence their doctor has to consider. I was connected with tinnitus and hearing loss the doctor at my C and P said it was due to work environment issues and hearing protection but somehow the Va said nope it’s secondary to your sTBI but your tracheotomy scar from the coma isn’t secondary to it. The benefit of the doubt is in the veterans hands and sometimes we have the burden to show its a possible cause to my Hearing damage, 3M paid the government 9 millions in fines from concealing it from everyone. It’s our turn wish I didn’t have a shit memory I’d make a good advocate well there’s always Hadit
  22. Also like my migraine claim it was granted with no C and P it was combined with another C and P done by my TBI review. But after years of VA care and then an increase I filed after 7 years of it being 0% they said sorry it’s 50% 0 but your 100% P and T so doesn’t make anything go up in. My take is no matter what the VA says your entitled to separate exam not done by a biased examiner who feels your TBI is 100% so all your secondary disabilities are null and just a check in the box. Call 1800 help nothing line and ask what exams were order for claim....
  23. I am going to try this can’t hurt other then my a No...I’ll bring in a copy of my appointments from the past year off Ebenefits
  24. So basically me driving to my appointments for my treatment five times a month for the past 2 years could have been reimbursed? I only live less then 15 minutes from my VA hospital so I figured I’d be wasting my time but after two years it would start to add up
