  1. Well just went into ebennies to have a look and it shows both as completed. Naturally being the curious type I went to download VA letters and lo and behold it said "You are being paid at 100 percent rate because you are unemployable due to your service-connected disabilities: Yes You are considered to be totally and permanently disabled due to your service connected disabilities: Yes" Now just to wait and see the big envelope arrive!!!!!!!!
  2. Aggie, I think I would be hound dogging someone that is way too long
  3. Since we all know how accurate E-bennies is and it is showing my 2 claims as prep for notification time for finger crossing. It has been 11 months on the dependent claim and 8 months on the TDIU. Reno had to ship it out to another location, just hope they sent everything. I don't want to have to fight the appeal process but am ready if I have to.
  4. Well I got an email from the gurus at the VA saying my benefits handbook had been updated. Well went to check out what it had to say and kept getting an internal error message. So being bored this morning I opened a chat with them to find out what is going on and got the usual straight forward answer, the site is having some issues and the problem is being worked. HMMMM wonder if they got that from Obamacare or vice-versa?? Then they told me well you get updates to the book you got in 2012 that you should have been putting in as they become available. I just couldn't pass it up and told her well my rating changed from 20 to 70% and I didn't get any updates. Guess she wanted out pretty quick and recommended I call the help desk. I know a lot of tongue in cheek here but thought I would post this in case someone else is going through this.
  5. bought printer compatable with windows 8 installed it everything was fine. 2 months later computer can't find it. Printer is wireless used by multiple computers. This one says offline but in control panel cannot see it. Printer works with other computers. Have shutoff both computer and printer and unplugged them overnight then back in and tried again same thing. Tried uninstall and reinstall on software for printer no change. Ideas???
  6. Here in the local stores you only get discounts on certain items not everything like you used to. Lowes is a couple of hours away so unless I need a lot guess I am stuck.
  7. I did guess I forgot to mention that. It was turned down and as I was relocating didn't do anything to follow up on it until I lost the job I had.
  8. I got rated at 50% due to left side weakness due to cva in 2009. However they gave me the rating in 2012 and made that the effective date because of when the clain was filed. The VA neurologist I was seeing in 2012 stated and put in my medical records that it was due to the cva in 09. Their contract doctor who did the C&P exam agreed with her, that is how it got rated. Also in my VA medical records is where I had complained about it in 09 and they ran test looking for compressed spine and nerve damage. Basically they said there was narrowing between C 5 & 6 but not the cause of the problem. They also sent me to physical therapy for a while but it didn't help. When I got my award letter it stated "left side weakness due to CVA," no mention of when. Along with this I was awarded disability at 100% from social security in 2011 based on this and mental health issues both of which are service connected. I am waiting on the VA gods to do something with my TDIU claim which they defered when I got my 70% according to their math. The numbers actually add up to 100 but we all know how that works.
  9. This along with other VA locations dictating what songs may be sung is getting way out of hand. How about the fact that most or maybe all veterans would see this as what it really is, a display of apprecation from children who are trying to make their day better? I would even be willing to bet there would be a few with tears in their eyes seeing the children and the expressions on their faces and emotions in their eyes. I doupt anyone would complian about any of this.
  10. Ok three of mine are on the list that I can see without checking them all, but what is the schedular you are talking about?
  11. See if they actuall do anything this time. Meanwhile do you have copies of you in service medical records? If not get them you may want to investigate either lawyer or congressman might have a cue here look up either Carlie or Berta and spell things out with them on here.
  12. Ok this got me thinking, when according to the VA math I was awarded 70%, I had allready been on SSDI for 1.5 years due to same conditions. Now when I got my award letter it said TDIU was pending but knowing the VA's track record I put in for it myself. Should I let it go with the date I submitted and then file a CUE for the date of the original award or cancel and just file the CUE? The claim is now in the gathering evidence stage waiting on former employers statements. Also their independant doctor agreed with the VA neuro doctor that the provlems of the left arm becoming useless was due to a cva in 2009 that was missed by their doctors in Texas. It was caught by their neuro doctor here in Nevada and is service connected. I doupt that I can do much about that even though it was a rough 3 years before I finally started getting the proper treatment, and luckly to be here giving them a hard time. Luckly now I have good doctors at the VA that I like and trust, even to the point where if I ask a question over secure messaging on MHV she will answer or actually call.
  13. Something that I find amazing, I submitted my TDIU claim after my dependent "claim" and it has just moved to gathering evidence. The dependent "claim" which was submited with a copy of marriage license is still sitting in claim recieved.
  14. Mine has been sitting in clain recieved since May makes no sense. Press on with the Social Security claim do not wait on the VA.
  15. The trazadone helps me fall asleep but still only get 4 to 5 hours a night. Taking 100mg of it. They had me on buspiron for a while but it caused more problems than it helped, shakes and added to the headaches. They put me on propranolol along with the Zoloft.
  16. If it was done internal by the VA it will show up on the healthy vet web site. If they sent you to a private doctor it belongs to them and you probaly will not be able to see it until after the claim is closed. It should become a part of your c-file.
  17. I had just the opposite experiance with the doctor who treats me there. She was faxed a copy of all reports on the TIA that the IMO treated me for linked to my blood pressure and the evdience of having a stem stroke earlier which made my left arm basically useless and ran with it. She had blood work, ct scan and ultra-sound done all that day and had me in to the neuro doc the next day who confirmed the findings. The entire team has been very responsive when I email or call, several times when I email I get a call back from the doctor instead of a nurse. Luckly my doc is an internal medicine specialist which helps a lot, she even takes the time to explain if she sees I don't understand. I guess I got one of the good ones, wouldn't trade her for anything.
  18. If you were diagnosed with the hypertension while on active duty get a copy of your service medical records. When I got out in 75 my doc had me hand carry them to the VA, my brother in law who was 100% made sure we photocopied them and kept a copy. As for changing your address in e-bennies try the help desk if you continue to have problems maybe they can fix it for you. Good luck
  19. Another lesson I have learned is the pass out cards are very handy. Wearing my disabled vet hat starts a lot of conversations with other vets who are fighting the VA and having the cards handy makes it easy to remember the web site when they get home.
  20. If you want here is a online link to it http://www.va.gov/opa/publications/benefits_book.asp
  21. My doctor at the VA did mine no questions asked. Not sure why you are getting such a hassle.
  22. I know mine took 8 months, heck been waiting that long for the VA to add my wife on????? Anyway congratulations now the hard part waiting on the letter explaining the whens and how much. Remember to watch for the back pay if nothing within 1 month call them on it. Should not go over that.
  23. I did that and it found no problems.
  24. ok I have checked the bios etc everything is good there even checked for an updated version of bios it is current. Still cannot power down by going through normal shut down procedures. Where I live there is nobody I trust enough to check this computer out, it is the wifes and has bank info etc on it. The only thing different than my computer is the hard drive is bigger otherwise identical. Have even opened the case and checked the power button to make sure it wasn't stuck. Naturally cleaned it out while open and checked all connections.
